Vouliagmeni is a suburb that holds something for everyone and includes everybody. For authentic Greek food overlooking the sea, BlueFish is a must-visit. Al fresco dining goes up a notch here, as the outdoor deck meets clear blue waters and offers a refreshing sea breeze. An excellent wine list is available, as well as some of Greece’s freshest seafood.

The cosy décor is neutral and traditional, and the view and choice of fish are both spectacular. Book an outside table and try the octopus house special for a real culinary treat.

Louizidis Tavern

For daily meals, locals flock to the family-run Louizidis on Vouliagmeni’s main square, which has fed generations with good, wholesome Greek staples for years.

Mrs. Athena started this tavern in 1961. The unique recipes combined with her love of flowers (which transformed the area in a huge garden) were the causes that helped the world to feel the taste and make the tavern his favorite haunt. Located in Vouliagmeni Square, 100m from our hotel.

Stavros Niarchos Foundation funded the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center, offering bounteously a hub that host National Library of Greece and the Greek National Opera while the 210,000 m² Stavros Niarchos Park extends to a magnificent setting.

Designed to effectively offer an open space that encourages cooperative learning and interaction, the Library features an astonishing array of collections divided into categories that cater to specific age groups.

The institution also hosts prestigious seminars, events and classes. It is designed to adapt to the ever-changing needs and challenges of the modern digital era. To that end, the nationwide digitization project offers easy access to the Library’s various collections.

The Greek National Opera is now hosted in the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center. Within its exquisite premises, experimental projects, educational programs and an intriguing array of performances are accommodated.

It is also a place that prepares the next generation of dancers, providing a significant contribution to society. Its state-of-the-art Halls showcase amazing acoustics and versatile interior.

The Stavros Niarchos Park extends throughout 210,000 m², making for a refuge of learning, reposing and recreation. The Park brims with lush greenery; it consists of lovely plants and trees, fountains, paths, allées, playground and brilliant spaces for those seeking a day out in the open.

The Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center is located on the edge of Faliro Bay, 4.5 km south of the center of Athens and 20km from our hotel.

Temple of Poseidon
A visit to Sounion is more than just an excursion. When you get to the Temple of Poseidon, situated at the top of the cliff at Cape Sounion, you leave the crowds behind and become one with the gods. Feel the energy of this landscape, drenched in the same light as in ancient times.

A place of myths and legends. It was here, at Attica’s southernmost tip, that the Doric Temple of Poseidon was built (around the same time as the Parthenon, 440 BC), standing proudly above the sea that the god adored.

Take a dip
In Vouliagmeni you will find an impressive array of beaches to immerse yourself in fun-packed activities or lay back with a refreshing cocktail in hand.

With an abundance of public and private sandy shores, many of which have Blue Flag certification, the Athens Riviera will no doubt have one with which you will fall in love. The main beach in Vouliagmeni is called Akti Beach, which sweeps along the main front.

The shore becomes crowded as summer temperatures begin to swell, and it’s a fun hangout for watersports enthusiasts or if you want to practice your beach tennis game. Astir Beach is a more boutique destination, with an entrance fee and decadent sunbeds.

You can expect to find upscale facilities and services, a hip bar, an upscale restaurant, stylish boutiques, spa treatments, a concierge, private lockers for rent. As an added bonus, there is also the 6 century BC Temple of Apollo Zoster on site that can be visited!

Vouliagmeni Lake is open throughout the year and offers warm, swimmable temperatures and a spa so that you can make the most of the crystal-blue waters at any time.

Further down on your way to Sounio, stop by EverEden Beach. Crystal waters, sandy bay, the imposing black rock and even an aqua park for the little ones.

The open plan restaurant serves Mediterranean-Greek dishes with a twist which you can also enjoy while lounging in the comfy daybeds. The atmosphere evolves during the course of the day, but it’s at sunset that the scene truly comes alive.

For a more solitary escape, you can also walk farther around Vouliagmeni Bay and swim off the rocks, though watch out for sea urchins.
