Berghotel Ladinia is one of Corvara’s first inns – as can be seen by its licence number, No. 1 – and was founded in 1930. The man behind this project was Cesco Kostner – someone responsible for changing the destiny of hundreds of farmers in the area. Berghotel Ladinia is unique for many reasons – indeed, you can swing by whenever you want, and not just during peak season in summer and winter.

We open our doors in spring, when the crocuses start popping up across the meadows, and we close for a well-deserved rest when the larches start shaking off their lighter green capes and wear brighter colours. The Dolomites off-season are truly a sight to behold!

THE HISTORY
We take a step back in time, all the way to 1930, when Cesco Kostner decided to turn this small home into a guesthouse. The first in the village, as evidenced by its licence – a proud No. 1.

One of the oldest buildings in our small village, boasting a view of Mount Sassongher, the inn is where the past – gently, discreetly – slips in through the cracks of time into our present day.

Our wooden floorboards sigh and whisper with every step you take, the few decorations have that otherworldly look, enhanced by the sunlight sweeping in through the windows, creating a delightful, intimate ambience.

Time stands still, at ease and in no rush to move anywhere else, thank you very much. So much so we consider this more than a Casa – a home – and see it as a sanctuary for body and soul. And the Costa Family works day in, day out to preserve this magical, ethereal setting.

ROOMS & SUITES
Our thirteen rooms, where timber and wood panels take centre stage, are all very cosy. We decided to name them Dolasilla, Lujanta, Moltina, and Sommavida in homage of the main characters of the Ladin legends.

These women were princesses and queens of the legendary Fanes Kingdom. While they’re all snug, intimate rooms – typical of Alpine and Ladin mountain homes -, they’re not all the same: some have double beds, others twin beds, and we even have single beds for solo travellers.

Our inn, as beautiful as it is, has one major limitation: its spaces aren’t child friendly. To offer the best experience possible for everyone, we’re happy to welcome families with children aged 10 or above.

DINING
Mouth-watering cuisine: breakfasts, South Tyrolean aperitifs with Speck, and a limited dinner menu based on traditional recipes made with local ingredients. We prefer to work with local suppliers, after all. Our chef, Aldo, interprets the menu according to the season, adding that pinch of creativity which never goes amiss.

Also, the wine list thinks small. Small local wineries producing small quantities of bottles. We offer authentic oenological gems that come partly from South Tyrol, partly from other parts of Italy according to the criterium: less is more. There is no shortage of champagne, again offered by a small company that works with great heart.

MOUNTAIN BAR & CAFE
Alessio is the young innkeeper at the helm of the Ladinia, and he’ll welcome you with a smile to the inn’s café and bar. At loss for words? No worries: Ladin, Italian, German, and English are spoken here – and a bit of Dutch courage will have us all speaking French and Spanish, too!

A melting pot of people, languages, and culture, where hospitality and a good glass of wine or an Italian espresso create unbreakable bonds between our guests, the village, and the mountains.

You can always order a coffee or cappuccino first thing in the morning, a nice cup of afternoon tea in the Stube, and an aperitif in the evening – with live music every Wednesday.

But you can do so much more at the Ladinia: read a printed newspaper – yes, remember them? – play a boardgame, or have a chat while savouring a refreshing beer or other local beverages, including red and white wines.

ACTIVITIES & EXPERIENCES IN SOUTH TYROL

THE SPRING
As the snow melts, nature slowly awakens from its slumber. Spring in the Dolomites is a sweet song that fills ramblers and hikers with joy. The last, stubborn patches of snow seem to hint to the flecked hides of the grazing cows that will soon roam across the fields.

THE AUTUMN

The Punta Trieste Hut lies at an altitude of 2,028 meters above sea-level, and affords a magnificent panorama of the world of the Dolomites. The hut is operated by the jack-of-all-trades Willy Costamoling, who is an extreme mountain-climber, a paleontologist, a skier, and an Alpine rescuer.

SELLARONDA
Motorbikers can hardly contain themselves when they talk about the fabulous pass roads and the wonderful panoramic views.

That’s because the Sellaronda includes four passes of the Dolomites and connects the following valleys of the Dolomites: Alta Badia / Hochabtei, Gröden/Gardena, Arabba, and the Fassa Valley.

Since the 1970s, you can make this roundtrip (consisting of an unbroken chain of ski slopes and ski lifts) in the winter, too.

The 40-km-long route (including slopes and aerial lifts) can be easily completed in a day, but skiers should be sure that they have crossed the final pass by 3:30 p.m. so that they don’t miss the last lift before closing time.

By the way: The Sellaronda can be traveled in both directions: clockwise and counterclockwise.

THE HISTORY
The history of the La Majun begins a long time ago, and is woven in to the history of the Ladin culture. The grandfather of manager Roberta Rinna was the village blacksmith of La Villa in the 1930s. Back then, life in the mountains was very simple and full of deprivations.

After the death of Giovanni Rinna, the Rinna family had to somehow make ends meet. In those days, women couldn’t take over a blacksmith shop – which was considered typical “man’s work.”

As a consequence, in the early-1960s, La Majun opened its first two guest rooms, which were rented for a few weeks per year to outsiders. The grandmother, Giuditta, and her five children would live during those weeks in the house garage, and would split the work in their little bed&breakfast amongst themselves.

After school, Roberta (now the senior manager) would help out in the kitchen while her aunt served the guests Ladin barley soup, homemade “Schlutzkrapfen,” and delicious meat dishes prepared using game meats from the forests of the Dolomites.

Over the decades, the La Majun grew until it acquired its current form. The hotel is still a family-operated business. Three generations live and work every day to ensure that their guests enjoy an authentic vacation experience.

The bond between the family members is what has made the La Majun what it is today: A 4-star superior hotel in the Dolomites.

TRADITION, ART & DESIGN
The unique character of the La Majun is expressed in countless details. The handcrafted loden cushions on the sofa, the golden glow of the lamps by Catellani & Smith over the tables, or the carefully arranged flowers on the spacious panorama terrace are all evidence of this.

Senior manager Roberta is a master in skillfully incorporating Ladin craftsmanship in the surroundings to give the hotel’s interior a profound authenticity.

Openness, a willingness to help, and friendly camaraderie have always been the hallmarks of the Ladin culture in Alta Badia – which was still laboring under severe deprivation only a few decades ago.

ART IN DNA
Grandfather Giovanni Rinna was the village blacksmith. His son trained in Gröden / Gardena as an artistic metal craftsman in order to take over his father’s workshop in La Villa.

Granddaughter Natalie Mellauner discovered a passion for painting in her youth. Her paintings capture the expressive nature of the Dolomites in an abstract form: Warm ochers, gold, and the leaves of the dark forests symbolize the love of homeland here in this valley of the Dolomites.

HIKING AND BOBSLEDDING
In Alta Badia you find 80 km meticulously prepared and well-marked winter trails also by snowshoeshiking. In winter the Dolomites and Alta Badia have a very special magic.

The snow-covered scenery, the deep blue sky and the quiet ambience of the forests transform the villages in a fairytale landscape. Spinning down the slopes at what feels like a million miles an hour is a great experience for both adults and children. There are many fun sledging opportunities in Alta Badia.

CROSS COUNTRY
Cross-country skiing, probably the oldest sporting discipline on skis, is an elegant and healthy type of sport which can be learned easily by people of all ages.

The small Dolomite region of Alta Badia has a long tradition of cross-country skiing – legends of the sport such as Maria Canins (among others, winner of a Vasaloppet race, the cross-country skiing race), the junior athlete Debora Agreiter as well as the qualified cross-country skiing instructors from cross-country ski school Alta Badia in San Cassiano Armentarola, prove this.

SKIING IN SOUTH TYROL
First of all: With over 1,200 km of slopes and 460 lifts and tow lines, Dolomiti Superski is the largest ski network of the Alps. The ski network consists of twelve ski areas in South Tyrol which you can all visit and use with a single ski pass.

The ski area of Alta Badia is located within the Dolomiti Superski – during their winter holidays, guests of the La Majun can thus directly enter this spectacular ski adventure of the Alps.

SELLARONDA BIKE DAY
Do not miss the Sellaronda Bike Day, a non-competitive event, open to all. During this day the famous Sellaronda, the tour of the passes around the Sella group, is reserved for lovers of 2 wheels and on the famous panoramic track there are no sounds of running engines or exhaust gases, much less traffic.

The Dolomite roads are reserved for bikes: racing bikes, mountain bikes, tandems, unicycles and even nostalgic velocipedes.

MARATONA DLES DOLOMITES
The Maratona dles Dolomites – Enel is a road-bike marathon in the Dolomites with start and finish in Alta Badia. The first Maratona dles Dolomites event took place in 1987. 166 cyclists from Italy, Germany and Austria took part in the race.

The number of participants increased from year to year. In 1990 it was just under 1,000 participants, rising to just over 6,000 in the mid-1990s. Today the number has had to be limited to 9,000 enthusiastic cyclists who get the chance each year to take part in this unique and world famous marathon.

DOLOMITES
For generations – if not for centuries – the Dolomites have held a special fascination unlike that of any other mountains. In 2009, the Dolomites were declared a UNESCO World Nature Heritage Site.

You can experience the wonder and the glory of the Dolomites in a variety of ways: You can take part in expeditions to the snowy summits, retrace the routes of legendary bicycle races along the Sellaronda, or delve into the history of the formation of the Dolomites at the spectacular MessnerMountainMuseum.

The Dolomites are a range of mountains belonging to the southern Limestone Alps in Italy. The Marmolata (3,342 meters above sea-level) is the highest summit of the Dolomites.

Other well-known summits or massifs include the Three Pinnacles, the Sella, the Rose Garden, the Schlern / Sciliar , and the Geisler Group – directly visible from the La Majun.

THE BADIA VALLEY
The Badia Valley (German: Gadertal; Ladin and Italian: Val Badia) stretches over a length of 16 km and is home to a variety of unique natural and cultural treasures. The region at the southern end of the valley is referred to as “Alta Badia.”

The Badia Valley is viewed as the heart of the Ladin culture, and is surrounded by majestic peaks of the Dolomites, including the Heiligkreuzkofel (2,908 m), the Lagazuoi (2,778 m) or the Piz Boè (3,152 m above sea-level).

For a long time, these mountains shielded the inhabitants from outside influences, as a consequence of which they developed a unique language and lifestyle surviving into modern times.

In the late-19th Century, the first alpinists came to this remote valley, laying the foundation for what later became known as “gentle” alpine tourism.

In 2009, the Dolomites were declared a UNESCO World Nature Heritage Site – thus, parts of the southwest flanks of the Badia Valley were placed under protection as the Puez-Geisler / Puez-Odle Nature Park, and parts of the southeast valley flanks as the Fanes-Sennes-Prags / Fanes-Senes-Braies Nature Park.

The region of Alta Badia at the end of the Badia Valley is divided into six villages: Corvara, Colfosco, Stern / La Villa, St. Kassian / San Cassiano, Abtei / Badia, and La Val. Each individual village has its own unique character, its own history – all of which make Alta Badia to perhaps the most-authentic region of the Dolomites.

THE SELLARONDA
The world-famous roundtrip route of the Dolomites is a year-round attraction. It offers visitors a unique opportunity to combine a love of sports with an appreciation of nature. In the wintertime, skiers can circle the Sella Massif over 40 km of snow-covered slopes.

This, the most-famous ski circuit in South Tyrol is embedded in the breath-taking landscape of the Dolomites and will lead you over four passes, with spectacular views of the Sella Massif, the Langkofel, the Plattkofel, the Marmolata, and many more impressive summits of the Dolomites.

Along the way, you can stop in at various alpine huts for refreshments, including hearty South Tyrolean specialties which will give you the needed energy to continue your journey.

In this dry sauna, perspiration occurs at lower temperatures—around 50 ° C. Cross-Country Skiing

There is a total of 10 kilometres of cross-country skiing trails in Corvara and Colfosco, starting from the Ladinia ski school in Corvara (6 km of easy trails in the direction of Pescosta and 4 km of intermediate-level trails in the direction of Colfosco).

The trails are suitable for both the classic and the skating styles of cross-country skiing.

Ski Touring

Heliskiing

The most beautiful ice-climbing areas in the Dolomites are easy to reach from Corvara: there are frozen waterfalls on the Sella Massif, in Travenanzes Valley inside Fanes Nature Park, and the Serrai di Sottoguda Gorge, at the foot of Marmolada Mountain.

Have Some Fun Sledding

Rosa Alpina’s first stone was laid in 1850, when a vidum, a parish priest house, was built using a donation made to the Church by a prosperous San Cassiano family. The parishioners ran a small restaurant in the house, and offered lodging to guests.

At that time San Cassiano had little more than 100 inhabitants and the village consisted of the church, the vidum, the school, the sexton‘s house and about ten cabins in the mountains.

Executive Chef Norbert Niederkofler
Chef Niederkofler’s culinary roots can be traced back to the Valle Aurina, a small valley near Bolzano in the province of South Tyrol. It was his father who inspired in him to develop a love of home cooking using high quality local products.

Norbert began his formal training in Germany, before moving to Switzerland, the USA, Austria and back to Germany, where he was trained by renowned chefs Jörg Müller and Eckart Witzigmann.

He then returned to Italy, gaining further expertise under Nadia Santini. In 1994, Norbert joined the team at Rosa Alpina and began working toward the opening of Restaurant St. Hubertus, which took place in 1996.

Norbert says: “When I was 18 years old I had a great goal in mind: I wanted to see the world. And I had a second goal, a much more moderate one: I wanted to be a chef.

With a lot of discipline, I was able to combine both my wishes. I experienced ups and downs. My success is the result of clear ideas and goals, and the fact that I always question myself and try to remain humble.

Michelin starred restaurant St. Hubertus
The domain of legendary Chef Norbert Niederkofler and his team, Restaurant St. Hubertus has earned three Michelin stars celebrating Niederkofler’s ‘Cook the Mountain’ philosophy.

Only local and seasonal ingredients are used in regional dishes that reflect the beauty and vivid character of the mountains. Named for the patron saint of hunting, the restaurant opened in 1996 – at that time just a tiny space within the hotel’s pizzeria.

After being awarded a Michelin star 2000, the restaurant replaced the pizzeria with today’s look: Nine tables grace the dining room, while the chef’s table overlooks the kitchen and one romantic table rests beside the open fireplace. A second Michelin star followed in 2007, and a third in 2018.

In 2020 the restaurant was one of 13 out of the 371 starred restaurants in the Michelin guide to be awarded with its newest distinction, a green ‘star’, symbolised by a leaf.

This has been introduced to recognise sustainable gastronomy and distinguish restaurants that are taking responsibility in the conservation of resources and the protection of biodiversity, as well as in reduced consumption of non-renewable energy.

Wine Bar & Grill
This atmospheric restaurant with its Italian family style cuisine, authentic wood-fired pizza oven and convivial bar shifts seamlessly from day into night. Its menu is simple yet creative, offering a refreshing take on local cuisine inspired by the ‘Cook the Mountain’ culinary concept.

Executive Chef Norbert Niederkofler along with Chef Fabio Zammarano and the entire St. Hubertus team oversees the curation of tasty and diverse dishes reflecting their sublime natural setting. A wide range of international wines are available.

Limonaia
For a hearty start to a day in the Dolomites, the light-filled restaurant Limonaia, offers an extensive breakfast to be enjoyed over crisp white table linens with wide-windowed forest views.

A range of multigrain breads and buttery croissants are home baked daily and served alongside jams, fresh fruit, cereals, yoghurt and eggs prepared as you desire.

Offered on request, sessions are led by experienced practitioners and can be tailored to individual fitness and health goals. Try our signature 80-minute yoga session, which combines aspects of Hatha and Raja yoga.

The former focuses on physical asanas (postures) aimed at stimulating ligaments’ elasticity with consequent muscle stretching, while the latter integrates acquired benefits with breathing techniques, for complete mental and consequently physical relaxation.

During the Summer months we offer personalised yoga sessions in the meadows on the mountain. Our yoga sessions are on request and payment is required.

The Gym
Located on the first floor next to our yoga studio, our state-of-the-art gym with woodland views makes working out less effort. Guests must book the Gym in advance with reception. Open from 7am to 8pm

This wood-panelled, sunlit space filled with books and comfortable sofas around a central fireplace overlooks the forest through floor-to-ceiling glass windows. The Pizzinini Family Mountain Cabins
Our guests have access to two private mountain cabins at 2,000m – each offering unrivalled privacy and an unparalleled back-to-nature experience where the earth touches the sky.

The first is ideal for those wishing to spend a day in the mountains, using it as a base to explore or as a unique venue for personalised lunches. The second, Cabin Trugnei, is a two-storey cabin perfect for overnight excursions for the adventurous.

All meals are delivered by the hotel, and in summer, mountain bikes are provided for those wishing to descend via an exciting downhill trail. Please note that an overnight stay in Cabin Trugnei can only be booked with a minimum stay of three nights at the hotel.

To meet the needs of our many guests with children, Rosa Alpina offers a whole range of services including 24-hour babysitting, allowing you to spend your family holiday in the wonderful South Tyrol totally relaxed and carefree.

While restaurants have baby flatware, bibs, highchairs and children’s menus available, rooms and suites can include everything from cots and soft toys, to bottle warmers, humidifiers, sterilisers, diapers, baby wipes, children’s bathrobes and kids’ slippers.

Fanes-Senes-Braies Nature Park
The mountains of Fanes circle a vast amphitheatre of undulating pastures. Here you will find multiple easy but satisfying hiking trails, and a number of peaks can be summited for breathtaking views.

Famous sites include the Armentara Meadows, a small but highly diverse area with an impressive variety of floral species. The Fanes High Alpine Pasture with its lithic amphitheatre known as the ‘Marmots’ Parliament’ is another stunning spot and the setting of the Ladin legend, ‘The Empire of the Fanes’.

Then of course, there is the Conturines Cave in which the bones of multiple prehistoric bears, the ‘Ursus Ladinicus’, were discovered in 1987. Guided excursions can be easily arranged.

Puez-Odle Nature Park
Showcasing a very different but equally magnificent landscape to Fanes-Senes-Braies Nature Park, Puez-Odle includes the mountains of the Odle group, the Putia group and the high-plateau-like Puez group.

The famous Dolomite high route no. 2 – known as ‘the high route of legends’ – winds through this area with its raw beauty. All the rock strata typical for the Dolomites can be found here, as well as Jurassic and Cretaceous rocks, while flora is characterised by dwarf rhododendrons, artemisia and buttercups.

The region’s fauna is well represented, with chamois, marmot, mountain pheasants and golden eagles often spotted. Guided excursions can be easily arranged.

Hiking and walking in the Dolomites
Hiking is the perfect way to experience the beauty of the Dolomites, offering plenty of opportunities to drink in the views, picnic amid wild flowers and simply enjoy the peace and tranquillity of nature.

Climbing in the Dolomites: Via Ferrata

Golf in the Dolomites
From June to October, golf lovers can enjoy a quiet game on the new 9-hole, par 72 golf course just a few kilometres from the centre of Corvara. At an altitude of 1,700m, the course offers spectacular views but is not too tiring, with a height differential of only 45m.

The layout of the holes, following the gentle reliefs, makes for an entertaining and creative game. The simple wooden clubhouse offers changing rooms and showers. There is also a putting green, a practice green and two professional assistants.

Ski Service
Rosa Alpina offers a professional ski fitting service. After completing the ski equipment form with all your details and preferences including ski type, shoe size and helmet size, all your equipment is chosen and stored.

In the morning, our staff prepares everything you need for your day’s skiing or snowboarding, and delivers it to our ski shuttle for your convenience. The shuttle runs continuously throughout the day between the hotel and the Piz Sorega lift station.

The Dolomites – A Unesco World Heritage Site
Since 2009, the Dolomites have been listed as a Unesco Natural World Heritage site and are as such one of the world’s specially protected natural and cultural monuments.

The Dolomites’ bizarre rock formations extend across a 150km by 80km area. With its highest peak, Marmolada (3,334 m) and 17 others, all higher than 3,000 metres above sea level, the Dolomites offer breathtaking scenery and unforgettable views.

Geology of the Dolomites
Formed 200 millions years ago out of the primeval ocean, today the Dolomites reach 3,000 metres into the sky.

The Dolomites owe their name to the French Déodat Guy Sylvain Tancrède Gratet de Dolomieu (1750- 1801) who “discovered” the chemical composition, i.e., stratified calcium magnesium carbonate, of their unusual rock.

Dolomieu, a nobleman and member of the French Institute, was also a geologist, and in 1789, he collected rock samples and sent these to the geologist Nicholas de Saussure for examination.

He had been intrigued by the rock’s abnormal reaction to chloral acid, since it reacted less violently to this acid than other calcium-based rocks.

The geological history of the Dolomites is represented by the numerous fossils and minerals that have been found in the area. The sedimentary rocks unveil a large number of easily accessible fossils and minerals.

Flora and fauna of the Dolomites
The Dolomites are rich in vegetation and animal species, making them a delightful natural environment to explore and discover while on holiday in Alta Badia.

Flora
Thanks to its position and geological conformation, Alta Badia boasts an extremely rich and characteristic flora. In the valleys it is possible to find the most beautiful species of meadow flowers, while delicate alpine flowers grow in the rocky zones and on glaciers.

At the beginning of spring, when the meadows are not yet green, they are covered by a blanket of white crocus, which is then replaced by bright yellow dandelions.

The spring gentian, the primrose, the buttercup and the mountain soldanella can be found in the more humid meadows. The anemone is found in the high meadows whilst the anemone hepatica grows in the woods.

However, the most beautiful season as far as plant wildlife is concerned is from June until late August. During this time the auricula, various species of gentian, the nigritella, the daphnia, the saxifrage, the columbine, the campanula and various species of lily come into flower.

The mountain slopes are made even more beautiful by the evocative red rhododendrons. There is also a vast variety of wild herbs which are used for our “Cook The Mountain” dishes served at the St. Hubertus. Others such as arnica for example are used in the spa to treat sore muscles after sports activities.

Fauna
The mountains and the woods of Alta Badia offer a unique attraction for those who love the animal world. The rustling of wings, the running of a roe-deer, the cheerful scurrying of a squirrel, the singing of birds and the perfect flight of an eagle help to animate the different aspects of this world which surrounds us.

In the high mountains the reliefs have caused the bigger four-legged animals to acquire an extraordinary agility. This vital quality gives them a sureness of step which means they always tread in the right place without ever slipping.

The most noted example is the chamois. A springy hoof with several sections that can separate independently from each other makes the chamois the king of the mountains. Chamois are found in the gorges of the Sella, in the Puez – Gardenaccia group, in the valleys of the Setsas and especially on the Fanes plateau.

It is often possible to encounter herds of 20 to 30 chamois. Whilst in the summer they venture up the mountains to heights of 3,000 metres, they spend the winter in the high mugo pine woods.

The legends of the Dolomites
While the Dolomite mountain range has revealed many of its geological secrets, the origins of its ancient and hospitable people, the Ladin, is still shrouded in mystery.

Living in the heart of the Dolomites, the Ladin have their own language, culture and traditions, as well as a rich repository of myths and legends, passed from father to son.

These ancient stories are full of princesses and dragons, mountains and lakes, and are sure to enchant young and old alike. The ladins of the Dolomites don’t distinguish between “myth” and “legend”, they talk about “contìe”, true stories.

Finnish sauna
Finnish sauna is characterised by temperatures ranging from 80° C to 90° C and low humidity. This helps cleanse the airways and relieve cough, boost blood circulation and metabolism and strengthen the immune system, improving psychophysical well-being.

This Finnish sauna offers you a fantastic view on the Mount Santa Croce. Every day at 6:10 pm you can enjoy the Aufguss in the Finnish sauna.

Turkish bath
The high level of humidity of 100% and the temperature from 45° C to 50° C in the Turkish bath dilates blood vessels, thereby improving circulation, helping loosen tensions and soothing the nerves. In this Turkish bath, designed by Starpool, the heat penetrates body tissue relieving minor muscular discomfort.

Vitarium
The Vitarium has a temperature of 60° C and 40% humidity. In addition to strengthening the immune system, it cleanses the airways and detoxifies the body. Combined with pure essential oils and relaxing music, the gentle heat stimulates the senses inducing a state of well-being.

Sauna “Mountain hut”

Away from civilization, “La Gana” led a simple life in seclusion. Only rarely this creature went down to the farmhouses in the valley to find some company and a few bites to eat during the winter months.

The philosophy of the Restaurant La Gana is based exactly on this legend, where we conjure true gourmet dishes from the abundance of the mountains.

Our chef, Giuseppe Gravela, will take you on a culinary journey through our region, using seasonal and fresh products from the Alps. His talent for perfectly highlighting the uniqueness of each individual ingredient allows nature to have its say in every dish.

Movimënt recreational parks

The Movimënt recreational parks on 2.000 m of altitude are true oases between La Villa/Stern (Active Park Piz La Ila), San Cassiano/St. Kassian (Bear Park Piz Sorega) and Corvara (Spaghettino Park Pralongià), offering lots of activities for families.

The parks are easily reachable by funicular and interconnected via scenic walking and mountain bike trails. You can hire a mountain bike directly on site at E-MTB Points Movimënt-Alta Badia.

The parks also offer climbing walls, little lakes with water games, fitness areas, a mini golf course, a cave with lots of games centered on the theme of “bears”, slides, adventure courses, geocaching, and many other activities.

If you need a break in between, visit one of the various relaxation areas with Kneipp trails and pebble and sand courses.

Adventure Park and Animal Park in Colfosco/Kolfuschg

The high-ropes course in Colfosco/Kolfuschg offers 5 courses with 71 platforms and a total of 600 m of pure climbing fun.

Right next to the Adventure Park you find a water mill and a bread-baking oven, which are typical for the traditional farming and offer you the possibility to immerse yourself in the history of local farmers. Highlight: the beautiful nature and the lovely farm animals!

Ice stadion in Corvara

In Alta Badia you can ice skate also in the warm season. Ice skating is a mix of dance and physical activity and ideal for people of every age. Even if you are doing it as a hobby, you will strengthen your muscles and burn calories in no time at all.

HIKING IN THE DOLOMITES

The Golf Club in Tranrüs is located a few kilometres from Corvara at 1,700 m height and one of the highest golf courses in Europe. The Sella and the Sassongher mountains offer the awe-inspiring backdrop for your game of golf or training session.

Golf fans will love the 9-hole course (Par 72) and the clear mountain air. The Golf Club Alta Badia employs two professional golf instructors and can also help you to organize an individual tournament.

Children and parents can also have fun in the bear’s cave at the top of the Piz Sorega lift in San Cassiano: multimedia games, quizzes on nature and animals, a special area to jump on a soft carpet in complete safety, and … a bear in hibernation!

TOBOGGAN RUN
You’re never too old for a toboggan ride! The track starts on the Piz Sorega plateau at 2,003 m and leads to San Cassiano at 1,537 m. The total length is 3.5 km. The landscapes that you’ll encounter during the descent are wonderful to say the least. The start at Piz Sorega can be easily reached by the Piz Sorega cable car.
