Steeped in history and culture, The Lodge at Glendorn is northwest Pennsylvania’s only luxury nature resort designed in the style of the grand family camps of yore.

Ensconced in more than 1,500 acres bordering the Allegheny National Forest, The Lodge at Glendorn offers 16 uniquely designed accommodations, family-friendly activities for every season, and a custom experience for each and every guest. Pursue outdoor adventures. Retreat and relax. Reconnect with people you love. Be inspired.

The Lodge at Glendorn is a family story. One that celebrates the magical moments of loved ones creating lifelong memories together. It’s the story of how a close-knit family created a cherished destination.

It begins with C. G. Dorn, fondly known as Bondieu, who purchased the property in 1927 as a retreat for his growing family. After decades of unforgettable vacations, the Dorn’s opened their beloved estate in 1995.

As new families fell in love with Glendorn, one family became instrumental in its future. When the magnificent estate became available in 2009, Cliff Forrest and his family made Glendorn their home away from home.

As only the second owner of the property, Mr. Forrest set out to preserve the property’s wonderful history and natural surroundings as well as its excellent activities, cuisine and service. As the new owner, or should we say curator, he’s generously invested in ongoing restorations and improvements to significantly enhance the resort experience for every guest.

Throughout the years, countless families, romance-seeking couples and groups alike have made their own history at The Lodge at Glendorn—returning year after year to escape from the demands of modern life and enjoy the beauty, peace and tranquility of this cozy getaway. Whether you visit with your children, friends or colleagues, you’ll foster a steadfast bond that is not soon forgotten.

Delight the senses with delicious cuisine and become immersed in the passion and commitment that emanates from Glendorn’s kitchen.

Each offering is designed and tailored to our guest’s requests, so that the participants can go home to replicate and utilize their honed skills they picked up in their Glendorn cooking class.

Whenever possible classes will celebrate the bounty of the Glendorn garden, the farmers, and producers. The people that have helped build the edible landscapes within our state of Pennsylvania.

PENNSYLVANIA’S FINEST FLY FISHING

The 1,500 acres of Glendorn is home to Fuller Brook- a crystal clear, spring-influenced freestone stream. Fuller Brook offers the Pennsylvania fly fisher nearly three miles of privately managed trout angling ranging from Native Brook trout on the Robbers Nest Branch and Jill Lake Branch to a mix of Browns, Rainbows and Brookies on the main stream.

Annual hatches and beginner-friendly fishing offer the best of both worlds for experienced and novice fly-fishers alike. The West Branch of the Tunagawant Creek, or, as we call it, “The Tuna” is an additional mile and half of trophy trout stream. Glendorn also has five trophy trout ponds with all the challenges of still water angling.

Drift Boat & Jet Boat Trips
It is mesmerizing hearing the splashing of the waves on the side of one of our Clakacraft Drift Boats as we float on the Clarion and Allegheny Rivers, both of which are classified as National Scenic Rivers.

On your float, you frequently see eagles, ducks, and sometimes the elusive black bear along with a wide array of other birds and wildlife. In the middle of all this scenery and great fly-fishing your guide will stop on a secluded river island to set up and cook a delicious shore lunch.

After your island lunch, we will float the remainder of either of these great American rivers searching for the fish of a life time. Our fully equipped 18′ Starcraft Jet Boat allows us to move our anglers up and down the river and enable us access to endless miles of incredible fly fishing water!

Seasonal mayfly hatches for brown and rainbow trout. Clarion River fishes best in April – early June. Allegheny River can fish great year-round depending on the outflow below the dam. Opportunities for warm water species including musky, pike, smallmouth bass, and carp.

Offsite Fishing Expeditions
Our guides pack a shore lunch, load their fly boxes with flies and greet you with a smile at Fuller Brook Outfitters ready to lead you on a trout fishing journey on one of many streams in the Pennsylvania Wilds.

We eat, sleep and live to fish and want to share our knowledge with you. We hope we can pass on our enthusiasm in this sport and fill your days landing trout or any other fish you’d care to catch.

Fuller Brook Outfitters
We are the only licensed full-service outfitter permitted in the 750 square mile Allegheny National Forest. Our full service fly-shop on property is stocked with flies, leaders, tippet, rods and other accessories needed to outfit you for a day out on the water.

SHOOTING SPORTS
So important was this sport to the Dorn family, the original owners of Glendorn, that a padded telephone booth was installed in the trap house so family members could conduct business and then return to the range. Today, that same telephone booth houses a Beretta gun room – perfect for selecting your next prized possession!

Our comfortable trap house includes a restroom, fireplace, built-in grill, redwood gun racks and gun cleaning station will make everyone comfortable even if you’re just there to watch your friends “break some clay” or talk about the days shoot.

Beginner, intermediate and advanced shooting lessons are available at separate times, though some experienced guest shooters pick up on small hints while sitting in on the orientation with their partners and friends.

Everyone over the age of 12 years-old is welcome to participate in Glendorn’s shooting sports program no matter what your experience is, even if you’ve never held a gun before.

We use Beretta shotguns, small bore guns for low to no recoil and individual one-on-one instruction while you are on station for customized coaching. Firearms, ammunition, eye and ear protection are provided onsite.

Our Beretta gun room has a fine selection of shotguns for sale as well as hunting and shooting apparel and accessories. To learn more about Beretta’s rich history, visit their website to see why Glendorn has favored their products for decades.

UPLAND BIRD HUNTING
Glendorn offers some of the finest upland bird hunting in the country on thousands of acres surrounding our Lodge. A wide variety of hunts are offered with our Wing Shooting program to accommodate both beginners as well as seasoned hunters.

Spring Gobbler season for the turkey hunter can be the most exciting hunting available. At Glendorn, we limit the number of hunts we do based on our turkey population and give the birds very little pressure.

Additional hunts include wild grouse, wild woodcock, chukar, pheasant, and wild turkey. Once your day in the field is complete, wind down in the comfort of your suite or cabin while Glendorn’s Executive Chef prepares a gourmet meal with the day’s rewards.
