Instantly recognisable for our striking red-and-white brick façade, The Milestone is a true London landmark. Just a short stroll from the legendary Royal Albert Hall, as well as Notting Hill and Knightsbridge, our leafy surroundings are perfect for a beautiful picnic in the park.

Known for our discrete nature, we are proud to be the neighbours of the British Royal Family, located just opposite Kensington Palace, with exceptional views across the Gardens to this most famous of homes.

Our leafy surroundings are perfect for a picnic in the park and we are just a short stroll from the legendary Royal Albert Hall, as well as Notting Hill and Knightsbridge.

We are so proud to be a part of the family-owned and run Red Carnation Hotel Collection, a member of the Leading Hotels of the World and to have recently received a prestigious Forbes Five Star rating.

Dating back to 1883, our Grade-II listed Victorian building, instantly recognisable for its striking Kensington-style red-and-white brick façade, is a true landmark, and we strive to protect and celebrate this precious history, from the original marble checkerboard floors, to the Victorian tiling, leaded windows and wooden panelling, allowing guests a rare glimpse into London’s history.

ROOMS & SUITES
Each suite has a distinct character, filled with curated artworks and sumptuous prints. Our Grand Master Suites are iconic, from The Noel Coward Suite, with its art deco touches and priceless antiques, to the Hermès Suite, featuring lofty ceilings, extraordinary custom-made furniture and a romantic balcony.

THE ROYAL KENSINGTON SUITE
The truly outstanding Royal Kensington Suite is a seamless fusion of the Hermès Suite and the Kensington Garden Suite to create one incredible space of almost 1,000 square feet, with three balconies overlooking Kensington Gardens.

The Hermès Suite, adorned with a beautiful collection of vintage Hermès scarves, has been completely reimagined, effortlessly combining modern design with the building’s original 18th-century architecture. The result is timeless and beautifully elegant.

The glamorous spirit continues with a masterful blend of carefully selected original pieces of period furniture, including an iconic bronze four-poster bed, bordered by Italian brass-bound lacquered mother of pearl bedside chests and a masterpiece French burr walnut desk.

The serenity of the design is punctuated by the grandeur of the space, clearly defined by the architect’s vision of four-metre-high coffered ceilings which lead to its private balcony overlooking Kensington Palace and the surrounding Gardens.

THE RESIDENCE
Combine the value, space and authenticity of renting a private home with the service, facilities and security of a five-star hotel. Our six luxury two or three-bedroom residences are perfect for extended stays or when travelling with family and friends, comfortably accommodating up to 5 – 6 guests.

Located opposite Kensington Palace, each residence has direct access through the hotel or may be accessed via your own private entrance. Enjoy 24-hour room service, twice-daily housekeeping service, full Concierge service, complimentary use of Health Club, grocery shopping service and use of our chauffeur.

THE WILLIAM & KATE
The bright and airy signature two-bedroom William and Kate Residence features striking copper and gold touches throughout, including modern Murano glass light fixtures and an antique mirror wall. The spacious lounge, decorated in a cream and mocha scheme, enjoys a 10-metre balcony offering views to Kensington Palace and Gardens.

DINING
Our passion for fine wines and gourmet cuisine is the driving force behind everything we serve at The Milestone Hotel. Experience fine dining in Cheneston’s Restaurant with its rich mahogany furniture; brunch or Afternoon Tea in the chic Conservatory; or a light menu in the unique split-level Stables Bar.

Our Executive Chef Daniel Putz and his team make their mark, serving fine cuisine with an accent on modern British dishes. They balance their natural creativity with a superb collection of traditional comfort foods (organic and wherever possible, locally sourced).

CHENESTON’S RESTAURANT
Deriving its name from an early spelling of Kensington, Cheneston’s is our intimate and elegant restaurant, offering delicious British cuisine. Our passion for comforting and creative cuisine comes to spectacular life in Cheneston’s.

Executive Chef Daniel Putz creates warming signature dishes inspired by our founder, Beatrice Tollman, which are served alongside a range of delicious British options, such as Scottish salmon cured by H.Forman & Son, London’s oldest smokery and carved right at your table, and delicious daily roasts presented on a silver trolley.

As you step in from the bustling city streets of Kensington you will be struck by the fine traditional décor, rich mahogany furniture, warm wood panelling and the abundance of natural daylight pouring in from the Victorian leaded windows.

Enter a world of calm sophistication and sumptuous luxury in our dining room, a room full of character, reflecting the distinctive period architecture of the building.

THE ORATORY
The Oratory at The Milestone is London’s most romantic venue, ideal for small events, private dining, celebrations and weddings. The original chapel of the building, The Oratory’s original features are quite remarkable. Steeped in history, there is nowhere more intimate to dine in elegant style and with total privacy.

THE STABLES BAR
Names can be deceiving. And that’s certainly true of this Kensington hotel bar. Because although it’s called The Stables at the Milestone, it’s not just a place to pass through on the way to somewhere else. This bar should be your ultimate destination.

Set in a Grade II listed building, the beautiful 17th century architecture and extensive drinks menu belies such a modest name. We believe that commitment to exceeding expectations is the secret to a truly great bar. The drink is undoubtedly at the heart of everything. Yet it’s the extra touches – from enticing surroundings to world-class service – that really set it apart.

THEATRICAL SIGNATURE DRINKS
Our signature cocktail, The Milestone Smoking Old Fashioned, follows the traditional New Orleans recipe, but we’ve added something special at the start, and a theatrical twist at the end.

Rather than whisky straight from the bottle, ours has been barrel-aged for 60 days in Canadian maple syrup and vodka. And then there’s a final flourish that elevates it from a drink to an experience – your cocktail is presented in a glass dome filled with shisha smoke, releasing hints of apple and orange when you lift the lid.

A STYLISH RETREAT
Our bright and airy Conservatory, with its chic juxtaposition of sheer black and white, creates an al fresco ambience with natural light pouring through the glass. With comfortable leather armchairs and sofas, it is the perfect place to unwind.

Overlooking the herb garden and forming an extension of the Stables Bar, it is a relaxed space for drinks, light snacks or a leisurely breakfast. Enjoy our legendary Afternoon Tea in this appealing sunlit spot. As the hotel is so close to the Royal Albert Hall, the Conservatory is also a perfect place for pre-theatre drinks or a light meal from the bar menu.

THE BREAKFAST
Breakfast is served daily in Cheneston’s restaurant. The traditional Victorian setting, featuring rich wood panelling and leaded windows, lends a real sense of occasion to breakfast. Alternatively, The Conservatory, open from 8am, is a bright and airy venue to start the day.

Experience the famous Milestone Traditional English Breakfast, with both vegetarian and vegan options available, or begin with an express breakfast of freshly-baked croissants with butter and preserves. Indulge in a Milestone Bacon Butty, or opt for a fresh raw fruit and vegetable super juice, including a Ginger Shot or Power Green juice.

THE AFTERNOON TEA
Afternoon Tea is a quintessentially English tradition and is upheld in its finest form here at The Milestone, in the heart of the Royal Borough of Kensington. In celebration of our treasured location opposite Kensington Palace and Gardens, and inspired by the new season of “The Crown”, we are delighted to announce our Royal Afternoon Tea.

Served in Cheneston’s Restaurant, the Park Lounge or the Conservatory, this exceptional experience is a true royal indulgence – discover a delicious array of delicate finger sandwiches, accompanied by warm freshly baked scones piled high with Devonshire clotted cream and home-made preserves, and a selection of pastries including éclairs, tartlets, cupcakes and macarons.

At the centre of our Royal Afternoon Tea sits an edible gold tiara, placed atop a raspberry, strawberry and Valhrona chocolate mousse cube, sprayed with royal purple and with a pistachio biscuit at its heart.

Taste a vast collection of loose leaf teas at your leisure in fine surroundings, or perhaps a glass of Lanson Champagne, holder of a Royal Warrant to the Court of England since 1900.

THE ART OF SABRAGE
We have become masters at enjoying Champagne at The Milestone and our Sabrage experience is perfect for your occasion. The Art of Sabrage is a technique whereby a bottle of Champagne is opened with a sabre, a method which became popular in France during Napoleon’s reign. Napoleon is reported to have said “Champagne! In victory one deserves it, in defeat one needs it.”

The Art of Sabrage is certainly a tradition which we would like to keep alive. We are honoured to be a member of the Confrérie du Sabre d’Or, an organisation that has continued through the years to promote this exuberant ritual.

PICNIC IN THE PARK
Enjoy an Afternoon Tea or Picnic Feast in Kensington Gardens this summer, served in traditional wicker baskets from The Milestone Hotel. London is famous for its glorious parks and our picnic hampers are filled with delicious al fresco fayre – perfect for a lazy afternoon.

AFTERNOON TEA IN KENSINGTON GARDENS
We can also arrange a traditional Afternoon Tea in the park, complete with delicate finger sandwiches, freshly baked scones with Devonshire clotted cream and preserves, French pastries, fruitcake, strawberries with cream, a pot of tea of your choice, and perhaps with a bottle of Champagne – you decide! An Afternoon Tea or Picnic Feast can be altered to cater to your specific dietary requirements
