Fira, the island’s bustling capital, is just a 700-metres walk by the caldera. Free parking is possible near the Tsitouras Collection houses.

The Tsitouras Collection is not an ordinary hotel. It is a manifestation of a remarkable hospitality vision that blends imaginative creativity, sophisticated aesthetics and local architecture; a hospitality vision that transcends time and goes beyond the cliched, ordinary, white minimal decor, shaping indelible memories in the minds and hearts of its guests.

The driving force behind this unprecedented approach to the traveling experience is Dimitris Tsitouras, who reinvented Santorini’s dominant hospitality concept. The central idea was radical: to create interiors you would encounter in a private home, featuring precious objects d’art amassed over several decades.

Underlying it all is a sense of individuality that feels authentic and totally original. The interiors have an exuberant yet profoundly intimate feeling. Everything is thought out in great detail, with a mind to how travelers really use their spaces -from the placement of each piece of furniture to the ease of technology.

A worthy ambassador of Santorini, The Tsitouras Collection is a microcosm for the bigger picture of an island both alluring and artistically profound. Explore it in style!

The foundations of this high-end island retreat for discerning travelers were laid in 1985 when a famous art collector, Dimitris Tsitouras, preserved the heritage of an old 1780 mansion with an extended renovation.

His intention at the time was to host his friends visiting Santorini, but the building, which has served as a school, post office and private home over the centuries was destined to end up an exclusive hotel, named after its instigator.

An impressive example of local architecture, the old mansion which harmoniously resonates its surroundings, has been converted into five separate houses, each demonstrating a separate style and theme.

In collaboration with British designer David Hicks, who advised him on color schemes, Dimitris Tsitouras went about decorating each house around a different facet of Greek history, infusing each one with a particular personality, and thus creating a design hotel with museum-quality art work that dates back to the 19th century.

It was the collectors’ personal guests who encouraged him to turn this private hospitality landmark into a hotel open to the island’s most demanding visitors. The magnificent laurel wreath, present almost everywhere you look, is The Tsitouras Collection’s famous trademark.

A symbol of eternal friendship, harmony, beauty, praise and glory, this beautiful wreath was created exclusively for Dimitris Tsitouras, the hotel owner, and was dedicated to him as a token of friendship by the prominent Greek painter, stage designer, illustrator and writer, Yannis Tsarouchis (1910-1989).

The Houses

Deeply rooted in its local setting and reflecting its surroundings, The Tsitouras Collection creates an authentic atmosphere and shapes a unique hospitality experience in Santorini predominantly based on excellence.

Each of its five exclusive houses has been infused with a distinct personality, but they are all by definition profoundly different to anything else you have experienced before.

Dining

Adedicated chef will prepare enticing dishes on a daily basis for guests who crave exclusive delicacies to satisfy their appetite. The menu is a la carte and based on simple, delicious Mediterranean regional produce.

The intention is to offer Santorini’s quintessential classics as well as more indulgent treats, which are served all day long by the pool or in the suites and verandas.

The day starts with a sumptuous breakfast served throughout the day and light snacks customized and fully personalized to satisfy each and every guest, and continues with delectable creations served upon request in the tranquillity of your room or at The Maria Callas Terrace by the pool.

Details matter at The Tsitouras Collection, where art de la table takes center stage with bespoke, silver cutlery specially ordered from France, dinnerware sets and stunning silver plated bells, all engraved with the hotel’s iconic wreath.

The gastronomic ritual is further enhanced by an impeccable, yet discreet and unobtrusive service that will allow you to enjoy an exclusive and rare dining experience.

Make a reservation in advance for Santorini’s most sought-after table, idyllically set by the sensational pool under a white canopy on the hotel’s iconic Maria Callas Terrace.

You will be attracted by the stunning, breathtaking views that are best enjoyed under the flickering light of a romantic candlelight dinner, but reservations for small gastronomic gatherings for up to eight persons are also accommodated upon request.

In addition to the exciting and unique backdrop, you will also be spellbound by the kaleidoscope of fine flavors and epicurean delights prepared by the hotel’s private chef.

The unpretentious, gourmet menu of five to seven courses based on seasonal ingredients from the Cyclades may be totally customized according to your desires and tastes.

The chef suggests fresh fish and sea food, but there is also a very enticing option for Greek cuisine tasting with local organic produce and wines. Private dinners are served exclusively at The Maria Callas Terrace, and need to be booked at least one day in advance.
