The view on the Ceresio is unique, an unprecedented glimpse of the city of Lugano, now a rapidly expanding destination, not just a hub of business and finance, but a new interpretation of leisure and tourism. The nautical inspired architecture, a perfect yacht that sails on the waters of the lake on a journey of luxury and comfort.

Just as if departing on a cruise, the experience begins with the arrival by car into the covered garage of the hotel. Up to the first floor and the public areas, with the bar, THE VIEW Fine Dining restaurant, THE VIEW SPA and the magnificent TreCinqueZero Terrace.

The entire hotel and all 18 suites overlook the lake and this view on the water is the same from every area. Marine teak, glass, krion® , the undulating references to waves in the wall designs and the style details, define the spaces.

Even the rooms – located on the first and second floors – are reminiscent of a yacht: 16 Junior Suites measuring 50 m2 and 2 Suites measuring 105 m2, feel like luxury cabins, each with its private balcony.

An A’ la Carte and a more casual Bistrot menu are available on the Terrace with a refined wine list and selected craft beers. On the terrace it is also possible to request different Champagne and Wine tastings or to sample some of our signature cocktails, prepared with ingredients from our garden.

We are active member of the AIS “Associazione Italiana dei Sommelier” and ASSP the Swiss equivalent. We are dedicated to ensuring that we serve our guests the best wines available on the market.

Cocktails
Our Cocktail list is being constantly updated to follow the trends and seasons in order to offer a unique experience. Ingredients such as Rosemary, mint and lavender are fresh from our own garden. Our Signature Cocktails are the result of careful research, professional barmen and the use of high quality seasonal ingredients.

Wines and Champagne
Every wine producer and label on the wine list of the restaurant THE VIEW Fine Dining and the Terrazza Trecinquezero is carefully selected for our guests.

Our Sommelier is always researching and updating the fine wines and champagne selection, as well as the organic and innovative wines like for example the Orange Wine.

The Lifestyle Food Experience comes to Lugano.

Dining with the Stars is a distinguished gastronomic initiative created by the Planhotel Hospitality Group in collaboration with the JRE (Jeunes Restaurateurs), Martino Crespi Events and Mastercard, to offer an inspirational and surprising element to the exclusive holiday experience.

Already in its sixth consecutive year in the beautiful Diamonds Resorts in the Maldives and Zanzibar, this initiative now launches a Swiss Edition in the elegant surroundings of THE VIEW Lugano Fine Dining Restaurant & Terrace.

Every month this one-of-a-kind gastronomic experience will feature the wonderful culinary talents of different JRE’s chefs from around Europe, carefully selected quality wines and the finest locally sourced ingredients.

Guests visiting Lugano can indulge in these exclusive events and enjoy flavours, fragrances and customs from 11 different European countries.

Each special evening will begin with a welcome signature cocktail, followed by a 6-course gastronomic dinner prepared by one of the JRE chefs and selected wines carefully paired by our sommelier.

To further enhance this exceptional culinary journey, is the breathtaking location of THE VIEW Lugano Fine Dining Restaurant and Terrace with its contemporary design, inviting atmosphere and magnificent view over the lake and city of Lugano.

Diego Della Schiava
EXECUTIVE CHEF
Born in Abbiategrasso and raised in the Ticino countryside. Diego graduated from high school in 2008 and then decided to make the passion he had developed working in taverns as an apprentice at weekends, his profession.

He studied at ALMA, the International School of Italian Cuisine, under Maestro Gualtiero Marchesi, who taught him the skills he would need to go on to work with prestigious chefs such as Niko Romito, who had a profound impact on his love for cooking.

From Abruzzo he had a number of different experiences and then moved to Bologna in Emilia Romagna, where he worked under Chef Guido Haverkock, a chef of great personality, and where he had the honor of being part of the team that contributed towards the conquest of the prestigious and coveted Michelin star.

In 2012 he left Italy for Switzerland and the Canton of Ticino, where he contributed to the revival of the 5-star Villa Orselina. When the prestigious boutique hotel THE VIEW Lugano opened, he joined the kitchen of THE VIEW Fine Dining.

Mario Miranda
MAITRE AND SOMMELIER
The world of wine caught his attention from when he was a boy, and he was fascinated by the different aromas and flavors that characterized each single territory.

This interest has continued to grow over the years and he has broadened his knowledge living in Brazil, England, Italy and Switzerland and through his specialized studies, to make this his true profession.

His great curiosity has led him to discover new and unknown wines as well as established ones. He has combined a solid training with passion, achieving several prestigious certificates: • “AFC” Federal Certificate of Ability• “APF” Federal Professional Certificate• “DF” Federal Diploma “Executive Restaurant Manager”• “AIS” Italian Sommelier Certificate Along with the Chef, he was instrumental in the opening of THE VIEW Fine Dining restaurant, and has, during these past few years, collaborated not only with the prestigious Chef Mauro Grandi but also with dozens of Michelin-starred Chefs, playing an important role in the culinary experience by matching the wines to their dishes.

Thanks to the various masters who inspired him and to his constant research, today, Sommelier Mario Miranda offers our guests wine tastings from all over the world that enhance the chef’s cuisine.

THE VIEW SPA
An Olympus of charm designed for the guests of the hotel, but also open to external visitors, where every gesture and every detail is dedicated to wellness.

The center offers tailor-made treatments, a selection of exclusive products and well trained, highly specialized personnel. A combination of geometric and undulating shapes, precious materials and light, harmonious colours.

Salt Room
WALL BUILT OF HIMALAYAN SALT BRICKS
The salt room has as an entire wall built out of Himalayan Salt bricks which naturally and continually release a high concentration of iodine and negative ions into the air.

The negative ions purify the air in the room, kill bacteria and drastically reduce radiation, resulting in a deep purification of the skin, which along with the iodine, greatly improves conditions such as dermatitis or psoriasis.

The iodine also decongests and disinfects the nasal passages and this is helpful against conditions such as asthma, sinusitis, congestion and seasonal allergies.

Pools and thermal areas
VITALITY POOL
The pool area, with its soft lighting and stunning views of the lake, features an 18 meter swimming pool and a vitality pool, with a heated whirlpool, hydro-massage circuit and water jets.

The Pool Bar offers healthy smoothies, herbal teas and fresh beverages to guests and members, while the relaxation area is furnished with comfortable lounge chairs to relax in after a swim.

Sauna
After the thermotherapy phase, a Finnish sauna is followed by a dip in a frozen lake and a massage with birch branches to reactivate the circulation. This ritual has been adapted to our climate and environment.

Exposure to the very hot dry air, is followed by a cold shower or a bath to stimulate the proper functioning of the thermoregulation. Before starting the treatment, it is advisable to drink an infusion which facilitates the emission of sweat.

It is best to take a lukewarm shower before entering the sauna, in this way the pores dilate and the muscles of the body relax. Before repeating another cycle of sauna, it is very important to hydrate with water or herbal teas, rest, relax on a bed and receive relaxing massages.

Turkish bath
People who live in big cities know that smog and pollution is a problem for the respiratory tract. The Turkish bath is extremely effective in cleansing the lungs of harmful micro particles: the moist heat present inside the steam bath renders the mucose more fluid, benefiting those who suffer from chronic diseases of the respiratory system.

Having treatments at least once a week, can improve bronchitis, sinusitis and rhinitis. The moist heat present in the Turkish baths also combats adiposity of the skin and cellulite.

Hot salt relaxing massage
Body massage using hot pink salt bricks. The friction of salt on the skin stimulates the lymphatic circulation, while the sodium particles absorb the excess water counteracting water retention. Finally, the salt stimulates a micro exfoliation of the skin resulting in smoother, oxygenated and compact skin.

Hydrotherapy
Benefit from the most advanced hydro massage techniques combined with the relaxing properties of essential oils. The varying temperature and pressure of the water, combined with the plant extracts, act on the vasodilation and vasoconstriction of the capillaries, toning the tissues.

Fitness and Courses
THE VIEW Lugano offers its guests and external clients many different courses and activities. The well-being routine can be enriched with Pilates lessons and muscle and cardiovascular training in the gym equipped with the latest Technogym equipment.

Fitness room
THE FITNESS ROOM IS OPEN FROM 6.30 a.m. to 10 p.m. for guests staying at the hotel and holders of the THE VIEW card. The fitness room at THE VIEW Lugano is warm and multifunctional.

Equipped with the latest generation machines, it is able to meet the needs of fitness enthusiasts and those who want to stay in shape even when they are away from home. The cardio equipment has interactive lessons, which change depending on the rhythm you maintain.

Open air training
The environment around the hotel becomes (weather permitting) a training circuit that tests muscles and breathing. Meadows, slopes and woods are the main elements of training in close contact with nature.
