Everything we do here at The Vintage Hotel Lisbon  is a celebration of Lisbon – its architecture, its culture, its beauty. We aim for our guests to enjoy an original, authentic, and indigenous experience of this incredible city.

When you stay with us, you will discover a piece of Lisbon to call your own. This is a place to become inspired. A place to relax. A place to play.

Every element has been created in collaboration with local artists, makers, and businesses. Clean, curved, modernist lines, and thoughtfully curated elements of Portuguese design appear throughout the entire hotel.

Bespoke 1950s and 1960s furniture pieces showcase the mid-century lifestyle of luxury and glamour. Soothing yet uplifting colour palettes project elegance and joyfulness into the space.

As you relax in your room, discover your own unique vintage bar cart – with complimentary gin & tonic kit created by Portuguese cocktail expert Nino Lopes. Mix yourself a drink, and take it to the rooftop to enjoy alongside stunning views of Lisbon’s skyline.

Every detail of your experience has been carefully considered. From the graphic artworks created by local artists such as João Rei, to the pencils provided by family-owned Portuguese makers Viarco. The Vintage provides an authentic and elevated experience of Lisbon.

WHERE WE ARE
At the heart of the city’s most stylish and bustling communities, we’re just a short stroll away from the Principe Real, Lisbon’s most eclectic cultural neighbourhood, Bairro Alto, the bohemian district which never sleeps, and Avenida da Liberdade, the city’s prime shopping & business area.

The metropolitan haven of Chiado is also nearby, offering stylish galleries, charming cafes, and sun drenched views of the River Tejo.

THE HANGOUT
An open and inviting space, perfect for pre-meeting coffees or post-dinner cocktails. Relax beside the wood-clad fireplace, and sink into the smooth sounds of our vintage record player.

A chic lounge area, adorned with unique art pieces such as Anna Westerlund’s ceramic vases, and Margarida Fleming’s popular ‘A Fadista’. Flick through one of our magazines on a mid-century sofa, and recline in both comfort and style.

THE SPA
The 5 star Vintage Spa is an immersive sanctuary, where body and soul can become reconnected. Luxurious velvets, deep brick-red walls, and solid brass elements create a grounded, sensual space.

Peaceful reflection in the water lounge is encouraged, as organic herbal tea is served in bespoke ceramic pieces, crafted by Lisbon artist Cecile Mestelan. A time to relax.

THE GYM
Our gym equipment includes a range of free weights, a treadmill, stationary bicycle, and balance ball – with a personal trainer available on demand. Full-length mirrors line the walls, alongside a TV, and specially commissioned artworks by Lisbon artist Branca Cuvier.

PRÍNCIPE REAL
Designed to be both inspirational and functional, the Príncipe Real is our most impressive space. Big, bright, and versatile – with original vintage cabinets, a mid-century drinks trolley cart for serving, and bespoke carved wooden wall lamps. With a capacity for up to 106, this space is perfect events.

SANTOS COLLECTIVE: A NEW MARKET IN TOWN
Looking for local produce and foods and or products by local artisans? Santos Collective hosts a weekly farmers market on Saturday mornings and is open most evenings for drinks, food and music.

You can find Santos Collective in the terrace of Santos-o-Velho Church, about a 15-20min walk from the hotel. It is aimed at supporting local businesses and artisans.

LISBON’S NATURAL WINE SCENE
Natural wine has taken Lisbon by storm, and one of our favourite newcomers, Senhor Uva, is leading the charge. Tucked in a residential neighbourhood just next to Jardim da Estrela, you can find this gem serving up perfectly curated natural wines and equally amazing plant-based food.

Stéphanie Audet and Marc Davidson, Quebec-natives, opened Senhor Uva less than a year ago after a long history with Portugal (Marc grew up visiting Portugal) and a love of sustainable, fresh and locally-produced and wine.

Marc and Stephanie make weekly visits to local wine producers to add to their wine list. The wine and food menu is regularly rotating as both wine and food are from small producers.

LISBON WITH KIDS
Lisbon is a fantastic city for families, with plenty to do and see for people of all ages. Not sure where to start? We’ve pulled together some of our favourites that you – and your kids – are sure to enjoy.

Hop on Tram 28. This legendary little yellow tram clatters through Lisbon’s coolest neighbourhoods including Alfama and its castle on the hill – the Castelo de São Jorge.

Check out the Oceanarium (Oceanario). Over in Parque das Nações, you can find the largest indoor aquarium in Europe housed in an iconic building that looks like its floating on the water. Includes a massive two-storey central tank that has over 100 species including sharks.

Go to Lisbon Zoo (Jardim Zoológico). One of the oldest zoos in Europe, the Jardim Zoológico has reinvented itself in recent years as an impressive centre for animal and habitat conservation.

Play at the Science Museum (Pavilho do Conhecimento). Perfect – specially on a rainy day – this museum is packed with interactive exhibits for kids, and most adults can’t resist getting stuck in too.

Visit the neighbourhood’s parks and playgrounds. Two of our favourite include Jardim da Estrela, complete with several kiosks and a playground for both big and little kids and Jardim de Príncipe Real, also with a small playground, restaurant and coffee kiosk.

We aren’t the only ones who have fallen in love with this neighbourhood wine bar, so make sure to make a reservation — our reception team can help.
