ROOMS & SUITES
Tiamo is a welcoming and intimately sized resort. Our 11 villas and 2 rooms exude great charm. Built in a traditional Bahamian style, each one is surrounded by lush green palm trees and has direct access to the white sand beach. It’s your chance to unplug and truly get away from it all.

THE FAMILY’S NEST VILLA
The Bird’s Nest is a luxury three-bedrooms villa that combines sophistication with comfort.

All bedrooms feature en-suite stone bathrooms; the occupants of the master suite will be blown away by the panoramic view of the horizon and the large patio giving a 360 degree views across the island and out to the beautiful turquoise water of The Bahamas.

The property is spacious too. It features a drawing room for guests to relax and socialize in, while the decor is tasteful yet elegant, with fabrics reflecting the colors of nature just outside the front door.

Of course, you can also make use of your own 1400 square feet private terrace, with heated pool and jet-massage area.

POOL VILLA
These five villas sit right on the white sandy shore of the beautiful South Bight. A slice of chic among the swaying coconut palms ; the five open-plan Pool Villas combine the stylish driftwood shades of the living areas with the eye-catching reclaimed glass and natural stone in the bathrooms.

Each bathroom features double stone vanities and eco-friendly beauty products. There’s a spacious walk-in closet, a wet bar, and coffee-making facilities featuring fair-trade coffee and tea. Their secluded terraces with private pools offer a complete tranquility.

STARLIGHT VILLA

With elegant decor that reflects the dreamy hues of the island’s natural ocean blues and sand whites, and surrounded by the vivid colors of tropical Bahamian trees and flowers, this gorgeous traditional-style Caribbean villa with a large living room sits right on the private beach.

SUNSET ROOMS
Our two “petite” rooms, 215 square feet each, are located right on the Beach and offer a breathtaking view of the Bahamian sunset. Both bedrooms are identical in size and structure, furnished with a Queen size bed and one simple private bathroom with the beach at your door step.

The Great Room is the heart of our resort. Here you’ll find a refined, spacious Bahamian lodge ready to welcome you at all times of the day. The stylish white-washed interior and deep blissfully comfortable sofas combine to create a bright, airy space with a positively laid-back atmosphere.

ACTIVITIES
Our resort is perfectly placed on the tranquil South Bight of the Tongue of the Ocean for exciting water sports like water-skiing and wake-boarding. For divers, a spectacular reef awaits just offshore, while the calm, colorful shallows are a paradise for snorkeling, paddle-boarding or a ride in a transparent canoe.

FISHING

Offshore Fishing, Famous From Hemingway, Tiamo organize fully equipped Boat which makes blue water fishing fun and easily accessible from the resort.

The large area of water surrounding the resort is not commercially fished and sees few fishermen. This means there are plentiful supplies of wahoo, innumerable varieties of snapper and grouper, Mahi Mahi caught on both fly and bait and several species of Tuna to name a few.

Eating what you catch is the Tiamo principle so fish caught are then freshly prepared by the Chef or member of his team and served in the restaurant the same day.

Blue water fishing trips can range from regular ‘fun fishing trips,’ to the reef less than three miles away using deep drop electric reels for a full days deep fishing in the Tongue of the Ocean, where among many other species, marlin and sailfish are regularly seen.

‍Reef Fishing: Yellow tail, Red, Grey and Mutton Snapper, Strawberry Grouper, Trigger fish, Grunts, Barracuda, Jacks and Porgy… The lobster season is open from August 1st to March 31st.

‍Offshore Fishing: Wahoo, Yellow and Black-fin Tuna, Mahi-Mahi (Dorado), Kingfish, Albacore…

And of course, at Tiamo we take protecting our marine environment as seriously as our above-ground efforts, so we endorse a catch-and-release policy and the use of barbless flies only.

BONE FISHING

‍Our experienced guides fish a vast area of Andros Island in the interest of providing you with the best fishing opportunities. You may fish the waters of the South Bight, all the way to the incredible picturesque and wade friendly waters around “Water Cay’ where shoals of bonefish over a hundred yards across are often seen. Or you may head North to the fabled “Land of the Giants” where some of the largest bonefish can be found.

Tiamo fishing gives you immediate access to uncountable flats and undisturbed tidal creeks.
 Bonefish tend to be the primary target but there are several areas on the West Side with resident Tarpon.

Permit appear when least expected and for excitement on a slow day, barracuda, snapper and sharks can all be caught on fly. If you are bone fishing for the first time than a half days are possible.

Or for the greatest challenge, set out wading or kayaking from the resort and see if you can first spot and then catch the ‘ghost of the flats’ by yourself.

SAFARI

Choose the safari that fit your desire. Feel like an explorer with the inland safari or in the sea safari. Otherwise, pick the on the sea safari to visit a grand nature aquarium of The Bahamas.

INLAND

Join a local guide through the rugged inland reaches of South Andros. You will discover rare medicinal plants, explore the caves, observe bats and take a dip in one of the marine inland sink holes.

ON THE SEA

A Three hours excursion on a boat taking you in the Mangrove habitat providing a nursery to a host of marine species from sharks, turtles, dolphins and on rare occasion the elusive saw-fish. See a grand nature aquarium of The Bahamas.

UNDERWATER

Spend your morning on a private snorkeling trip with our marine biologist to some spectacular local blue holes or shallow inlet reef spots. Encounters with stingray, baby sharks and barracudas are not uncommon with very large schools of snappers, grunts and jacks on almost every excursion.

SAILING
As well as playing under the water, you can enjoy some quality leisure time on the water with one Tiamo’s fleet of boats. Our trimarans are the perfect vessels for you and your partner to jump onboard and have a leisurely sail around the calm, sheltered South Bight waters.

Our boating experts will give you a quick lesson, and then away you go. The trimarans are easy for beginners to handle, and are incredibly stable so that you have no danger of capsizing.

Once you’re out on the quiet waters, lie back on the hammocks slung between the outriggers and soak up the sun and serenity as you gently sway to the rhythm of this most serene of seas.

SNORKELING
Tiamo is the perfect place for snorkeling. The clear waters off South Andros are teeming with a colorful array of sea life, including angelfish, barracuda, stingray and parrotfish.

One guided snorkel trip is complementary to all our guests & additional trip is available at extra charge; looking for a more private escape, we have Under The Water Safari available.

If you’ve never snorkeled before, you only need to wade into the warm turquoise water right off the beach to have your first memorable taste.

Here our resident experts will teach you everything you need to know to get straight into the action, and in no time you’ll be spotting creatures such as starfish, sea fans, sea cucumbers and sponges just yards from the resort.

Further out, some amazing experiences await more seasoned snorkelers. Here you will be guided through the waters around the Andros Barrier Reef, which literally teem with all manner of colorful underwater species.

The reef is famous for its spectacular Blue Holes, brought to the attention of the world through the explorations of legendary diver Jacques Cousteau in the 1970s. These deep caverns feature fishes and coral in abundance, and if you’re lucky, you might even spot an occasional turtle to cap off your session.

CANOE

You can use our transparent canoe or one of our kayak for a ride along the beach of Tiamo. Ride with our transparent canoe is an unforgettable experience, which allow you to have a view on the under sea life… Fish, starfish, discover the underwater wonders just around Tiamo…

‍BOAT TRIP

For a half or a full day, you can use all facilities with our captains… Take a ride, discover this amazing area and its mangroves, enjoy wake-boarding or water-skiing, stop for snorkeling on the coral reef… Reservation mandatory for these activities; extra charges applied.

DIVE CENTER
With crystal clear waters and the world’s third-largest barrier reef right on our doorstep, Tiamo offers some fantastic diving thanks to his Tiamo Dive Center. The reef runs parallel to the coast of Andros for 140 miles, and access to its edge is only a 10 minute boat-ride from our resort.

The eastern side of the reef wall spectacularly drops down 6,000 feet into the Tongue of the Ocean between Andros and Nassau, and some of the marine life that divers will encounter is simply breathtaking.

The waters of these parts of The Bahamas have featured in some famous movies too, including a number of films in the James Bond series, and evidence of these shoots can be found underwater in the form of wrecks formed from props.
