Whether you prefer to explore on foot, horseback, bike, or boat, our all-encompassing portfolio of tours and activities delves into every corner of Torres del Paine.

Tierra Patagonia is a true home-from-home Torres del Paine lodge for exploring Torres del Paine where adventure travel and luxury are combined.

ROOMS WITH A VIEW
Our patagonia rooms are an ode to nature, like the rest of Tierra Patagonia. The space is elegant yet understated, made with local wood, with whitewash walls on either side to focus your attention on the views beyond.

Our aim is to bring the outside in, so that you enjoy the warmth of our guestrooms while feeling a connection to your surroundings.

Whichever of the three room types you choose, you’ll find hints of Patagonia’s culture and history throughout, including sheepskin rugs, soft, handmade throws and, printed lightly on the chairs, patterns of ancient fossils found nearby.

With no televisions, you can unwind and disconnect easily, all while watching the shifting light and weather patterns dance over the lake and mountains.

SUITES
The spacious suites feature two levels, providing both a peaceful bedroom downstairs and a welcoming living area upstairs; the perfect refuge after a day out exploring Chilean Patagonia.

The suites are styled with rustic simplicity, so while you gaze out at Torres del Paine through the floor to ceiling windows, you’ll find yourself surrounded by craftwork, such as fittings carved from Patagonian driftwood found on the nearby lake shore.

SUPERIOR ROOMS
The Superior Rooms feature large beds and incredible views of Torres del Paine National Park. Deep-soak bathtubs are perfect for an in-room luxe bath, where you can still catch the view, thanks to a window through to the room.

An etching of a windblown Patagonian tree gives you a sense of peace within the space, while also enticing you to leave and explore the outdoors. Ten of our Superior rooms interconnect, converting them into family apartments that can sleep up to six people, perfect for a multi-generational group travelling together.

STANDARD ROOMS
Filled with locally-inspired furnishings, our Standard Rooms draw on the powerful landscapes outside, with views out across the Torres del Paine. Whether relishing these vistas from your comfortable bed, or while soaking in the in-room bathtub, time spent in your room will fuel your thirst for adventure in Patagonia.

PATAGONIAN CUISINE
Having spent the day exploring the rugged wilderness of Patagonia, there is no feeling quite like returning home to wonderful Patagonian Cuisine prepared with local ingredients, great service and a top-notch view to match.

Our Patagonian cuisine is an irresistible mix of hearty stews, slow-cooked soups and tasty dishes, sourced from the nearby estancias surrounding our lodge.

Our contemporary approach to Chilean cuisine, cooking techniques and the ingredients we use results in a broad, varied menu suitable for all tastes, preferences and diets.

Our onsite chef then prides himself on serving up sophisticated dishes, akin to those found in top-notch city center restaurants which, in this entirely remote location, is all the more indulgent.

THE SETTING
Warm lighting and softwood tones feel as if you are dining in a true nature sanctuary, particularly as the wild, Patagonian steppe unfolds on the other side of the restaurant’s windows.

This space truly is a ‘room with a view’ and at times will showcase the local climate’s whirlwind weather and wildlife at play, during a single sitting.

THE BAR
After a day of action and evening of heartwarming food, our grand circular bar is just the place to finish the night. Patagonian beers and some of Chile’s greatest wine labels are there for your enjoyment, not to mention our signature Calafate Sour, a flavor that can only be found in Patagonia.

SPA & WELLNESS
The Torres del Paine Massif’s silhouette serves as a backdrop for Uma Spa at the Tierra Patagonia Adventure & Spa hotel. It is a luxury to indulge in our outdoor hot tub or switch between the steam room and indoor pool.

Encased in tall glass walls, you’ll feel effortlessly connected to Torres del Paine all the while enjoying our Patagonia spa & wellness facilities.

FACILITIES
The highlight of Uma Spa is our heated, indoor pool, complete with hydro-massage and water jets, all encased in a glass-paneled sanctuary, offering views of the wild surroundings. It’s not unusual to spot Patagonian wildlife from here either.

Our spa circuit incorporates various temperatures and spaces for relaxation or to revitalize, including a pool, steam room, and soothing relaxation spaces.

Outside, our open-air whirlpool tub offers the chance to soak in warm waters, while taking in views of Torres Del Paine and perhaps even spotting a guanaco or ñandú which has wandered up to the lodge.

THERAPIES & MASSAGES
Enter a zen-like state in our treatment rooms, with aromatherapy oils, peaceful sounds and soft lighting. Our wellness space, which includes a yoga studio and separate relaxation rooms for men and women, is clad in warm, locally sourced wood and stone, while treatments and therapies use all-natural ingredients.

Take your pick from an extensive list of facials, massages, body wraps, scrubs and alternative therapies, designed to open up your ‘prana’, or ‘life force’, promoting positive thoughts and wellbeing.

SUSTAINABILITY
Positioned in a remote spot just outside Torres del Paine National Park, Tierra Patagonia is a sustainable, luxury Patagonia Eco lodge, known worldwide for its innovative architecture, which blends naturally into the landscape.

A beautifully pristine environment, this now revitalized pampa has benefited from our conservation efforts and focus on minimizing our footprint, from the daily operation within our eco friendly Patagonia hotel, to excursions across the National Park.

Tierra Patagonia uses LED lighting and controls its thermal efficiency to reduce the cost of energy. We are also evaluating future renewable energy projects and plan to incorporate a kitchen-garden to enable “farm to table” dining.

Additionally, in association with the Chilean Tourist Board and Forestry Association, Tierra Patagonia actively supports an ambitious reforestation project which aims to plant one million trees across Chilean Patagonia’s national parks.

In addition to our own financial and logistical support, we have also raised awareness among Tierra’s residents and guests, helping to promote the reforestation of this region as a globally significant cause.

The philosophy and actions of our sustainable Patagonia eco lodge will bring you closer to your responsible travel goals and help us to become a best in class example of eco tourism in Chile and the region.

ARCHITECTURE: SHAPED BT THE WIND
Since its conception, Tierra Patagonia was put in the hands of Chilean architect Cazú Zegers, whose expressive design approach is closely linked with Chile, its land, scenery and traditions. The silhouette of the building appears as if drawn by the wind itself; a force of nature that is characteristic of Patagonia.

It’s anchored to the ground with stone slopes and covered entirely with washed lenga wood, taking on a silvery, weather-beaten finish often seen on typical buildings found throughout the region. The aim of all this, is to provide a feeling of both shelter and intimacy with the land.

PRESERVING FLORA &  FAUNA
During the construction of Tierra Patagonia, to manage any environmental impact, landscape artists Catalina Phillips and Gerardo Ariztía, removed all the on-site vegetation, temporarily nurturing it in a greenhouse before replanting it around the hotel once the building work was complete.

Today, we see success of this work with visits from Guanacos, ñandús, native birds and foxes, who make their homes here.

For our guests, we also created a pathway that leads to the banks of the surrounding lake, so they can enjoy the beauty of Lake Sarmiento with its ancient limestone thrombolites without harming any vegetation along the way.

HOMAGE TO LOCAL HISTORY
Tierra Patagonia’s excursion list includes a range of tours which offer guests the chance to get to know what ‘estancia’ or ranch life is like, exploring Magellanic customs and local traditions, sharing a Patagonian ‘asado’ (barbecue), or riding on horseback across the pampa with the gauchos.

Patagonian culture also features in the hotel’s interior design, through handicrafts and artefacts from across the region.

In addition to our wall map, we have three ‘history windows’, dioramas made by the Chilean artist Matilde Huidobro, which represent what life was like for the first settlers and explorers of these lands: Sarmiento de Gamboa, Hernando de Magallanes, and Charles Darwin.

PARTNER FOUNDATIONS
We offer a reduced rate for our accommodation through the Smartrip Foundation, who carry out social projects which are aimed at supporting local communities and culture, while limiting unnecessary urbanization.

DISCOVER TORRES DEL PAINE
A native culture thousands of years in the making, pioneering exploration and dramatic landscapes, this is Chilean Patagonia. For many an adventurous traveller, Torres del Paine National Park is a bucket-list destination, and with good reason.

Its landscapes, carved out by glacial activity during the Ice age, are dominated by the iconic “Torres” or “Towers” which can be seen from many corners of the park.

For those who enjoy hiking, biking, horse-riding, photography, nature or just admiring the stunning views, this is the Chilean National Park which you don’t want to miss.

This Patagonia eco resort has an expressive design approach closely linked with Chile, its land, scenery and traditions. In southern Patagonia, you will find Torres del Paine National Park with its iconic peaks, mirror-glass lagoons and mighty glaciers.

Not to mention the endless walking trails, opportunities to see native fauna such as the Andean Condor, adrenaline-packed outdoor sports and a rich cultural heritage. From Sir Francis Drake, Lady Florence Dixie to Charles Darwin, many have passed through these lands, though few have wanted to leave.

We would like to invite you to discover the Torres del Paine National Park in Chile with Tierra Patagonia. We are an award-winning luxury eco-lodge, situated on the shores of the Sarmiento Lake, with sweeping views of the park.

Wider Patagonia covers nearly 400,000sq miles (roughly 1,000,000sq km) of unforgiving gorges, deep mountain lakes and the southerly ends of life on land itself. Torres del Paine National Park occupies 700sq miles (1,814sq km) of those varied landscapes.

Amid the carpet of lush Pine and Lenga forests, Torres del Paine is home to no less than four giant glaciers: the Grey; Pingo; French and Dickson, all with their own picturesque glacial lakes and surrounding rock formations.

Chilean Patagonia is generally more mountainous than its Argentinian neighbor, with the three iconic Torres spires ranking among the most famous of them all.

FLORA & FAUNA
Torres del Paine National Park is teeming with native plant species and perfectly well-adapted animal life. Swathes of Beech, Lenga and Coihue trees fill forests while Firebush, Winter’s Bark and Fuchsia shrubs line walking trails and occupy the plains.

Orchids, Irises and Lupins hug the riverbanks and punctuate woodlands, blossoming during the warmer months along with countless naturally-sown herbs. Wildlife also abounds here, with the park hosting over 100 bird species, 30 different mammals, reptiles and infinite varieties of insect.

Some of the better-known residents include Andean Condors, Pumas, Rheas, Patagonian Grey Foxes, Hawks and Eagles, Lizards, Flamingos and Frogs, among many more.

Birdwatching and horseback rides are a great addition to any itinerary, in among the adventure activities which Tierra Patagonia is well-known for. On these excursions you’ll discover many dramatic viewpoints, nesting sites and natural habitats easily explored in the company of our expert local guides.

OUTDOOR ADVENTURES
Undeniably one of the world’s great destinations for all manner of outdoor activities, the Torres del Paine National Park in Chilean Patagonia has it all. From gentle walks and photography tours to kayaking, biking, horse riding and hiking, there is an activity for everyone.

There are two main reasons why this region is so sought after: one is the abundance of outdoor adventures across the varied terrain and mixed natural environments, and the other is the enjoyment of its natural beauty.

Expend as much or as little energy as you desire, with a vast range of excursions and outings aimed to suit the interests and physical fitness of all ages and abilities.

THE ANCIENT HISTORY OF TORRES DEL PAINE
Tierra Patagonia has been a part of Chilean Patagonia since 2011, however, human inhabitation of what is now the national park stretches far beyond that.

The Tehuelche tribespeople were one of the main groups who occupied these lands more than 1,000 years ago, adapting over time to the pressures of harsh winters and all too short summers.

Evidence suggests that nomadic tribes of fellow hunter gatherers – such as the Selk’nam, Yaghan and Kaweskar – traveled between Torres del Paine and the neighboring Tierra del Fuego National Park, fishing in the lakes and foraging in the forests.

Outside exploration of the region took hold in the late 19th century, as groups of pioneering Chilean cowboys from the north roamed and settled, as did European visitors from the early 20th century onwards, all of whom now play their own part in Patagonian history and heritage.

CULTURE OF TORRES DEL PAINE
To live and prosper in Patagonia requires ingenuity and adaptability, with the estancias and working horse ranches of the region playing a vital part in the survival of its people, particularly in the 18th and 19th centuries.

Here, skilled herdsman relied heavily on their relationship with the horses to farm and graze huge expanses of land. The gauchos group cattle and round sheep while also using the strength and dexterity of trusty steeds to access otherwise inhospitable grounds.

Covering distance at speed was also essential, and it is for these reasons that the culture of horse ranches and estancias features heavily in the psyche of people here to this day.

Leisurely, recreational rides are far more suited to the 21st century traveler, of which there are an endless number of trails and routes available for anyone keen to enjoy a taste of this traditional way of life.

PATAGONIA TREKKING
A legendary route among the hiking community and an eye-opening experience for avid walkers, this hike in Torres del Paine is one of the world’s great “bucket list” Patagonia trekking adventures.

The first part is a steep climb, loosely following the natural course of the Ascensio River to Paso de los Vientos, where vegetation is thin on the ground. As you get higher, the views evolve and the mountains come into sight.

After a stretch of fairly flat hiking on a steep mountainside, you arrive at the “Chileno” refuge. Crossing the river, there is shade and a change of pace on a trail through native forest. Then the terrain changes again, opening out onto a steep rocky hillside, with huge chunks of stone making for challenging hiking.

The effort of this severe ascent is rewarded by the view of the iconic magnificence of the Towers (after which Torres del Paine is named) at the top. Take the time to appreciate both the isolation and grandeur of these mountains, a site which evokes its own sense of perspective.

This Patagonia trekking excursion is one of several Patagonia hikes which can be undertaken whilst staying at the eco-luxury Tierra Patagonia lodge. Daily Torres del Paine Tours and excursions are included in our all-inclusive packages.

PASO DE AGOSTINI
This full-day Patagonia hiking trip along the Paso de Agostini, is a little known trail, away from the crowds, with the iconic Paine Massif as a backdrop. Setting off from Estancia Lazo, we begin our adventure at Laguna Verde which, as its name suggests, is an open stretch of green water at the start of this scenic hiking trip.

We meander through lenga forest to reach a series of lookout points, with panoramic views of the lakes and mountains. We’ll make a stop for lunch along the way in a tranquil, natural setting, noting the wildlife around us, depending on the season.

As we carry on, there is a short climb of around 10 minutes which takes us to a viewpoint where we can see the largest lake in the area, Lago del Toro, as well as the winding Paine River and imposing mountains across the horizon of stunning Patagonia.

This hiking trip ends with a fairly steep descent to Weber Bridge, our pickup point where the van is waiting to take us back to enjoy some well earnt pampering in the indoor heated pool, sauna or jacuzzi at the Tierra Patagonia adventure and spa hotel.

This is only one of several Patagonia hiking trips which the experienced guides at Tierra Patagonia offer to guests. One of the most iconic Patagonia treks is to the Base of the Three Towers, whilst some of the most stunning hiking in Torres del Paine is to be experienced on the trail to Lake Grey.

Here is a full list of options for our full-day and half-day guided Patagonia hiking. You may have read about the legendary Torres del Paine W trek, but did you know that you can do all the main hikes with Tierra Patagonia, whilst enjoying the pampering and comfort of the our eco-luxury Patagonia lodge?

THE GREY GLACIER
Some of the most stunning and varied hiking in Torres del Paine is the trek to the Grey Glacier. The day begins with a journey across the Torres del Paine national park by van, with striking views of snow-dusted mountains and glacial lakes.

We begin at the Grey checkpoint by trekking through beautiful lenga forest, crossing the Pingo River on a hanging bridge, before we make the descent to Lake Grey, and trek along the pebble shore. We hike for approximately 40 minutes on the beach, which is particularly striking in the fall, with deep shades of copper, red and ochre on the hillsides.

On reaching the Grey peninsula, we take the trail which leads around to the headland, where you can sea the ice floes that have drifted down from the Grey Glacier, which can be seen in the distance.

We finish our Torres del Paine hiking on the far side of the peninsula, following the beach back through the wood to the van waiting to take us back to relax and unwind at the Tierra Patagonia Hotel.

At Tierra Patagonia, our experienced guides offer a variety of half-day and full-day options for hiking in Patagonia. One of the most iconic Patagonia Treks is the full-day hike to the Three Towers in the Torres del Paine National Park.

If you are interested in hiking the Torres del Paine W trek, but also appreciate comfort and pampering, you will be interested to know that you can hike to the main destinations on the W trek, whilst staying at Tierra Patagonia.

Each day, our experienced guides will take you on a hike to a different part of the W trail and in the evenings you will be able to relax, in the indoor heated pool or enjoy a massage treatment and ofcourse, the gourmet dining and Chilean wines on offer at our boutique eco-luxury lodge.

BIRDWATCHING IN TORRES DE PAINE
Birdwatching in Patagonia is an incredible experience. The endless pampa, thick forests and changeable microclimates of Torres del Paine are home to a surprising number of native bird species, best seen in the early hours, when the local wildlife is at its most active.

With over 120 varieties of bird so far identified in the hills, woodland and lagoons across the park, you will be able to spot some of the region’s variety. This may include eagles, Magellanic woodpeckers, flamingos, Patagonian ducks and the mighty condor.

Don’t forget your camera to capture the encounter. Your knowledgeable guide will help show you the best places to look and tell you about the different species and habitats.

LAKE SARMIENTO
Discover ancient geological formations on this hiking tour in Patagonia. Unearth thousands of years of geology on this tour based around the shores of Lake Sarmiento in Patagonia. Here you can discover rare formations that reflect the beginnings of the Earth’s history.

A 40-minute drive takes us from the hotel to our starting point, for a varied trek over both flat and slightly steeper terrain before we hit the shores of Lake Sarmiento. This expanse of water is very special and the home of formations called thrombolites, which were formed early on in the history of the world’s geology.

The conditions needed for them to be created are a precise balance between climatic conditions, alkaline levels in the water and wildlife in the area amongst others. There are very few sites in the world where thrombolites are found.

There is also much resident wildlife which occasionally accompanies us and in the springtime, vibrant colors from a variety of wildflowers. After the hiking tour, we will go back to the comforts of the Tierra Patagonia Adventure Spa hotel, a sustainable luxury eco-lodge situated on the shores of the Sarmiento Lake, with amazing views of the Paine Massif.

We offer allinclusive programs which include transfers, meals and daily guided excursions as well as an indoor pool and spa for relaxing after a day of exploring in Torres del Paine. Learn more about the fascinating Geology of Torres del Paine National Park and surrounding areas

INDIGENOUS PATAGONIA HISTORY
Witness remnants of the indigenous Aonikenk culture, part of the regional heritage of Patagonia on this trek. The Aonikenk were hunter-gatherer nomads who used the rocks as a canvas to convey messages to one another, which we can still see to this day in the form of cave paintings displayed on rocky outcrops.

Learn more about Patagonia History and the indigenous groups who lived in Patagonia. We start on this Patagonia trail by making our way in a northerly direction towards the Paine Massif which accompanies us throughout our walk, its striking silhouette dominating the skyline of Torres del Paine in Patagonia, Chile.

We’ll also get the chance to see some Patagonian wildlife, including guanacos, foxes and maybe a soaring Andean condor. The excursion finishes at the Portería Laguna Amarga, where our van will be waiting to take us back to the Tierra Patagonia lodge for some well-earnt relaxation and pampering.

This is an easy, half-day hike, one of the many options on offer from our team of experienced guides for hiking in Patagonia. Although more challenging, one of the most iconic and popular Patagonia treks is to the Base of the Three Towers in Torres del Paine.

At the Tierra Patagonia adventure and spa hotel, we offer both half-day and full-day guided Patagonia tours and excursions which include hiking, biking, horse-back riding and scenic voyages.

HORSE RIDING
Following a short 20 minute drive, we arrive at the Entre Lagos section of Estancia Cerro Guido (Cerro Guido ranch). Here we dress with chaps and hard hats before mounting our horses and setting off towards the Sierra del Toro, and down towards Lake Sarmiento with panoramic views of the Paine Massif, ending at the hotel. This ride requires previous riding experience, as it is not on a marked trail.

TOUR OF SIERRA BAGUALES & ESTANCIA CERRO GUIDO
If you have always wanted to visit an Estancia, a large cattle farm in South America, then the Estancia Cerro Guido will not disappoint you. From the hotel we head out towards the Sierra Baguales, a mountain-range north east of the National Park and close to the Argentine border.

The scenery here is completely different from the Paine Massif and the geology is impressive. We walk along the bank of the Baguales River, looking for fossils and enjoying the remoteness and views of this mostly unexplored valley.

When the walk is finished, we head back towards the hotel, stopping off to visit Cerro Guido, an estancia (ranch) which was born at the end of the XIX century as part of the “Sociedad Explotadora Tierra del Fuego” the largest and best known cattle ranch in Patagonia.

Made up of farm workers and their families, the estancia Cerro Guido settlement is entirely self sufficient, and there is an ironsmith, carpenters workshop, Fire Station, sheep shearing shed, stables, and a pen for the sheep dogs, amongst others.

Here we can enjoy the beautiful views and learn more about life in this remote area. Depending on the time of year, we may see sheep being sheared, horses being broken in, or young animals being born.

This is only one of the varied array of Patagonia tours and excursions on offer at our Torres del Paine hotel. The Tierra Patagonia adventure and Spa lodge is ideal for those looking to balance active adventures with some luxury, comfort, relaxation and pampering.

Here you will be able to go out exploring the Torres del Paine National Park and surrounding area on daily guided tours, and then return to the hotel to enjoy the heated indoor pool or a well-earned massage treatment at the Uma Spa. And of course, the gourmet dining and Chilean Wines which are included as part of our all inclusive programs.

LA PORFIADA
Hidden to the north east of Torres del Paine National Park, La Porfiada is an out of the way area, part of the Cerro Guido Estanica. We drive north to Laguna Azul, before heading away from the crowds to this remote area, close to the border with Argentina. The ride is mainly downhill, through lenga and ñirre woodlands where native birds and animals can be spotted in the wilderness.

At the end, we are rewarded with an incredible view towards the northeast side of the Paine massif, including the famous “Torres del Paine”. We meet our driver at Laguna Azul and return to the hotel.

IN TIERRA’S BACKYARD
What better introduction is there to this magical place than an intimate hike reserved exclusively for Tierra Patagonia? The beautiful outer edges of the Torres del Paine National Park, close to the border between Argentina and Chile, are the perfect place to start your Patagonian journey.

Beginning with a gentle stroll along the shores of Lake Sarmiento, next to the hotel, you can see the mountainscapes of the Cordillera Paine and Sierra Baguales on the horizon at every turn. Low-lying vegetation, typical of the Patagonian steppe means you can concentrate on the abundant wildlife, with sightings of eagles, foxes, Patagonian rheas (ñandú) and Andean condors.

HORSE RIDING AT ESTANCIA LAZO
If you love nature and horse riding – or you’ve always wanted to try – there’s no better place to do it than here in the wonderland that is Torres del Paine, with the local Chilean gauchos at Estancia Lazo.

Located on the southern shore of Lake Sarmiento, the ranch is reached via a beautiful drive along the lake from Tierra Patagonia. At the estancia, we meet our horses and saddle up, ready for an adventure on horseback through mixed terrain and glorious scenery.

The first hour is spent riding through an ancient lenga forest, before arriving at a clearing which treats us to astonishing views of the Paine Massif. Looking out over the iconic mountains of the Torres del Paine National Park, is sure to inspire and stay as a warm memory long after you return home.

BIKING THE CANADON MACHO
Brace yourself for a thrill as you pedal through the landscapes of Cañadón Macho on this biking excursion. From the Laguna Azul area, we gear up, hop on our bikes and head off, riding mainly downhill for the first section of our trail.

The area is heavily populated with guanaco, with sentinels watching out for the herd on the top of the hills. In the background, the Three Towers pierce the sky as we head towards the hotel. You can opt to cycle all the way back to Tierra Patagonia, or jump back in the support vehicle when you’re ready to rest – the choice is yours.

KAYAKING ON LAKE GREY
Kayaking on Lake Grey is a privilege. The glacial waters create a peaceful sanctuary and while the towering ice sculptures may feel imposing, they also evoke a sense of child-like wonder and a beauty which is hard to describe. Sunlight pierces the ice blocks and the color changes from deep blue to a sparkling mass. In the distance you can hear the crack and heave of the Grey Glacier.

The first part of the day is spent on the lake, amongst the giant ice pieces which have broken off the main glacier and blown by the wind have landed at the far end of the lake. In the afternoon, conditions permitting, we take the kayaks down the river towards the Serrano area.

CHILEAN PATAGONIA FLY FISHING TRIPS
For those who are truly passionate about fishing, don’t miss the chance to discover pristine corners of Torres del Paine on this Patagonia fly fishing adventure in Chile. The species that thrive in the rivers here change according to the season – you may be able to catch Chinook, Pacific Salmon, Patagonian Tooth Fish, Brown and Rainbow Trout, some of which can weigh up to 26 lbs.

Your expert guide will ‘read’ the river and evaluate the best spot for fishing that day depending on the weather and activity on the rivers, ensuring that you have the best chance of success. Hotspots for fly fishing in Patagonia, Chile include Rio Baguales, Las Chinas, Serrano, Lago del Toro and Lago Maravilla.

The fishing season in Southern Patagonia runs from October until April. Although this is officially Spring and Summer, the weather in Torres del paine is extremely changeable and you should be prepared for both wind and rain.

Tierra patagonia Adventure & Spa hotel is an eco-luxury lodge located near the entrance to the Torres del Paine National Park. We offer all inclusive packages which include transfers, meals and daily guided tours & excursions in and around the park, to enjoy active adventures such as horse-riding, hiking, kayaking and scenic tours.

SAILING TO GLACIER GREY & TOURING THE PAINE MASSIF
Glacier Grey is probably one of the most well-known glaciers in Chile and is a popular glacier to visit whilst on a vacation to Torres del Paine. Sailing on Lake Grey is a great way to get up close to the large icebergs which sometimes accumulate in the lake.

This excursion takes you through the Torres del Paine National Park to the western area, with a full overview of the main sites of interest. You’ll be amazed by the monolithic, unforgiving outline of the Paine Massif’s distinctive ‘horns’, just as jaw-dropping up close as you would imagine.

The Macizo del Paine, as it’s known in Spanish, is made of granite, which playfully reflects the constantly-changing Patagonian sunlight and nearby waters. Be sure to have your camera to hand, as you won’t want to miss a single shot of this amazing place.

Afterwards, we’ll pass through Nothofagus woodland to reach the beach on Grey Lake, where you can spot large ice floes floating in the water.

Here we board the catamaran and sail out towards Glacier Grey, surrounded by the impressive peaks of the Paine mountain range. You’ll be awestruck by the 19 kilometer-long ice formation, and even more amazed to find that there is an island in the middle of the glacier!
