Hotel Villa Belvedere is a delightful and charming boutique hotel, located at just a few minutes from Taormina’s lively town centre and from the world-famous Greek-Roman Theatre, which are both reachable by walking through the inspiring and panoramic Duca di Cesarò Botanic Gardens.

The hotel benefits of wonderful views over the sea, the bay of Naxos and Mount Etna. The hotel has always been owned and managed by the Bambara-Pècaut family and welcomed its first guests back in 1902.

Villa Belvedere has all the discrete elegance and friendly welcoming atmosphere of a traditional Sicilian private villa, standing in its own, well cared-for gardens, with spectacular views of Mount Etna and over the Bay of Naxos.

The main hotel building is open every season from early March until late November; the external luxury apartments and suites are open all year round.

VILLAS, ROOMS AND SUITES
All our rooms and suites located in the main building are elegantly furnished and decorated with warm, soft colours; they offer every modern comfort in the traditional welcoming style of Villa Belvedere.

Our double rooms with Terrace or French Balcony benefit of spectacular views across our luxuriant, flowering garden, the pretty swimming-pool area and over the sea as far as the distant horizon with mighty Mount Etna in the distance.

The Classic Rooms have a large, sound proofed window overlooking Via Bagnoli Croce and they are shielded from it by plants and shrubs in ornamental tubs.

Spacious Suites and Junior Suites, are located in the main building or in our annex which is few steps away from the main building, while, Garden Suites with functional kitchenettes, private patios and beautiful views, are independently situated among our gardens always in bloom.

Hotel Villa Belvedere is over a century old, built in the style of a private, family villa, no two rooms are identical, but they are all equally pleasant and, all offer similar modern comforts and amenities and simple but attractive décor. Complimentary tea & coffee making facilities and Wi-Fi connection are to be found in all of our accommodation.

VILLA MADDALENA
When luxury and tradition merge harmoniously together. Villa Maddalena was a private villa which we acquired and renovated with the idea of preserving the authentic Sicilian identity whilst creating a spacious and luxurious environment.

It is the ideal escape for families and friends who want to share a beautiful Sicilian setting, benefitting of all the services of Villa Belvedere, few steps away from the hotel’s pool area and restaurant (both open from May to October).

It is structured in two independent wide floors connected with an inner staircase. It overlooks the sea and a beautiful private garden where you can find everything you need to peacefully relax, drink, read, eat…In both floors, wide full-length windows light the rooms all day long, mingling the interiors with the surrounding gardens, the sea and the sky.

The top floor, benefits of a wide room, which accesses to a beautiful private terrace with comfortables sofa-chairs and a table with an outstanding view over the sea. The luxurious bronze-coloured bathroom reminds of a cozy spa lounge with a comfortable bathtub.

The floor below, fully independent as the one above, was first the living-room of the villa. The open space, characterized by a charming, authentic arch made of Sicilian bricks, divides the living room from the bed and the dining area.

ROCK SUITE INFINITY TERRACE
This newly refurbished luxurious apartment, enchants you with wonderful views over the Mount Etna and the bay of Naxos.

Located on the top floor of a centenary Taorminian building at just a few steps from the main entrance of the hotel and a few minutes’ walk from the world famous Greek theatre and the colourful heart of Taormina, the Infinity Rock Terrace apartment is the perfect escape for those who want to share, in full privacy, a cosy love nest in Taormina.

The apartment benefits of a fully equipped infinity terrace, with a spacious outdoor shower with waterfall and all the necessary to relax and dine.

JUNIOR GARDEN-SUITE
Our garden apartments are spacious, elegantly furnished and decorated with warm soft colors. They offer to the guests all the modern comforts. They are located in the garden of the hotel and they benefit of a kitchenette and separate areas.

FRENCH BALCONY
Our rooms with “Juliet” style French balcony are elegantly furnished and decorated with warm soft colours. They benefit of a wonderful view over the sea and the bay of Naxos. Being a centenary old building, most of our rooms slightly differ from one to another but they all benefit of the same modern comforts and amenities.

THE BREAKFAST
Breakfast is served between 07:30 am and 10:30 am, on the “0” floor, in the charmingly sun-lit breakfast room with double-lancet windows that overlook the gardens and the sea. Relaxing on our panoramic terrace and enjoying breakfast while sipping a chilled and refreshing glass of Sicilian sparkling wine, is the best way to start the day.

Our pastry chef will delight your tastebuds with daily selections of pastries, sweets, croissants, sicilian cannoli, cakes, granitas and much more! Freshly made pancakes and omelettes are available on request.

LIGHT LUNCH BY THE POOL
At the edge of the pool the restaurant is open every day from early April until end of October, offering a rich menu à la carte, with ample choice among the typical traditional Sicilian dishes, as well as pasta, omelets, salads, quiches, toasts, seasonal fruits, ice cream, desserts. Enjoy your drinks by our pool area, looking over the Mount Etna and the horizon.

VERY SICILIAN APERITIVO
In the evening our bartender will propose a variety of delicious local cocktails and different Spritz. Try the Etna Spritz, made with the Sicilian bitter Amaro Rosso Amara or the Sicilian Spritz, created with Solerno Blood Orange!

Our panoramic terrace is the perfect place to enjoy these delicious cocktails! Ask our barman about them, even the ones not in the menu! Let him create one, based on your wishes.

Choose from our carefully selected collection of Sicilian liquors, as well as Sicilian red oranges amaro and the Etna Gin, infused with local ingredients as juniper, tiny artichokes from the volcano and local oranges.

THE GARDEN
Nowadays, the sole remaining tree of this long-gone plantation still blooms in January and February when its delicately scented white blossoms can be admired on one of the terraces of the hotel, then its fruit, the almond, grows in March and April to be picked in May.

To these fruit-bearing trees were also added banana-producing palm, avocado and olive trees bearing various shades of yellow and green. An ancient orchard was therefore transformed into a little Garden of Eden in the heart of the Mediterranean sea where birds happily sing their joie de vivre.

In this typical Mediterranean setting can be seen reaching for the blue sky the noble and gracious cypress, the great washingtonia, the grevillea, the pittospora as well as the kapok tree, a tree of vegetal wool, which turns into a colourful pink bouquet during the summer.

The marvellous bougainvillea, jasmine and hibiscus shrubs also provide another palette of vivid colours to the beautiful gardens. With expert hands, the gardener of Villa Belvedere takes care of his little green ones day after after day, month after month, year after year.

He carefully picks the seeds at the exact time of the season, then sows the seeds by hand as in the bygone days of the old almond orchard. With loving patience, he produces the next generation of plants and flowers. The flowers adorning the terraces, boxes and pots of the cascading gardens have been locally grown for more than one hundred years at Villa Belvedere.

During the spring bloom, the first of the year, the enticing fragrance lingers in the air of the gardens for weeks while an enchanting decor is drawn by pelagorniums, forget-me-nots, eschscholzias, linen, silenas, poppies, daisies, narcissus, calla lilies, nasturziums and deeply-scented fresias.

The summer bloom produces a colourful masterpiece created by the ornemental sage, petunias, carnations, laurel trees and zinnias. The lower level of the cascading gardens opens onto a very wide terrace which dominates a spectacular view of the Mediterranean sea and Mount Etna.

It also surrounds a swimming pool where rises from its waters an island of greenery where has majestically stood for more than one hundred years a washingtonia palm tree.

THE GYM
Discover our functional gym, located in the garden of the hotel. Just a few steps away from the swimming-pool, it benefits from wide sliding windows and a stunning view over the sea.

At your disposal, a Technogym cyclette paired with a Technogym tapis roulant, a Swedish ladder ideal for stretching, loops, weights, a boxing bag, jumping ropes and a Technogym fitness ball.

The gym is equipped as well with AC, a smart 55” TV where you can follow all of your favorite workouts and a surrounding sound system. The panoramic terrace benefits from an outdoor structure ideal for bodyweight exercises and calisthenics.

In addition to our top of the line equipment we have our personal trainer on call who will be delighted to to create a personalized workout based on your wishes and necessities at a friendly price. We kindly remind our guests that the gym is available only under request.

SURROUNDING AREAS & EXCURSIONS
The hotel Villa Belvedere is centrally located in the green and historic area of Taormina. The Corso Umberto is reachable in just a few minutes walking throughout the public botanic garden “Duca di Cesarò”.

BY FOOT
From the hotel, you will be able to reach by foot different pretty places nearby. Taormina’s city center and all the little narrow streets are just few minutes away from the hotel. Isola Bella (25 min), Castelmola (1h) and Santa Madonna Rocca (30min) are as well reachable in less than one-hour walking.
