Villa Sostaga is this: a romantic hotel in Gargnano, a splendid location on Lake Garda; a way of interpreting your holiday based on a fundamental requirement, the search for quality in every single detail and to feel completely at ease as at home.

The building, dating back to the end of the nineteenth century, was desired by Count Giuseppe Feltrinelli who, in these charming locations, intended to create a hunting residence in the middle of a wood of 40 hectares, situated on a hill just a few kilometres from Gargnano, one of the most enchanting locations of Lake Garda.

Successively, the architect Alberico Belgiojoso transformed Villa Sostaga into a cosy summer residence, which accommodated many distinguished characters.

THE HISTORY
In 2004, after a life spent in the world of motors as founder and team manager of the auto motive team Euro team, which took part in the 24 Hour Le Mans race and for several years in the DTM championship – first as the official Alfa Romeo team and successively with Opel –, Gabriele Seresina took management of the estate belonging to the Counts Feltrinelli restructuring it and restoring it to its ancient splendour.

In May of the following year, the Boutique Hotel Villa Sostaga opened its doors to a holiday experience which still today combines a warm welcome, comfort, finesse in its furnishings – carefully chosen by the house patron, signora Gabriella, a great expert of fashion – and a phenomenal gastronomy; the latter, “legacy” of Grandmother Martina, who was the personal cook of the unforgotten poet Gabriele D’Annunzio.

Her recipes, just like her ancient remedies and sublime alcoholic preparations, have survived over a succession of decades up to today. We intend to hand down the spirit (and kindness) in our gourmet restaurant. THE GARDA LAKE
Placed on a hill situated 7,5 km from Gargnano and directly facing Lake Garda, our Romantik Hotel offers a magnificent panoramic view. This renders our hotel with lake view a tiny precious pearl nestled in an embracing landscaped setting, in which the largest and most charming mirror of water in Italy shines like the most precious of treasures.

Our boutique hotel, once the summer estate of the Counts Feltrinelli, is characterised by the charm of the rooms, typical of aristocratic abodes.

THE RESTAURANT
The elegant and comfortable restaurant of Villa Sostaga at Gargnano, a location situated on the Brescia banks of Lake Garda, is the perfect location to celebrate your most special moments such as weddings, ceremonies and other important events.

You can savour dishes from our gourmet and traditional Garda cuisine, fruit of the creativity of our chef, who knows how to conquer even the most demanding taste buds.

The Veranda, the Liberty dining room and the Clarabella salon are elegant surroundings – whose atmosphere is made precious by designer elements, the lovely glow of candles and the presence of antique fireplaces – where exclusive musical events are organised.

In spring and in summer, our guests can enjoy the gentle and pleasant breezes which caress the well cared garden and large park of 40 hectares.

Grandmother Martina Bazzani had the honour of being the personal cook of the poet Gabriele D’Annunzio. In our restaurant, we hand down her delicious recipes, maintaining the extraordinary flavours, as well as the proverbial goodness of the Garda cuisine.

The kitchen team of the restaurant at Villa Sostaga, captained by our chef, instils the maximum dedication to transform the moment of taking a seat at the table into a precious time, where the quality of products give surprising taste to dishes, from the delicious fragrance, to the persuasive appearance

The elegant and comfortable restaurant of Villa Sostaga welcomes its guests with a rich buffet breakfast in the morning. It can also be a pleasant frame for your lunches and dinners serving tasting dishes of traditional Garda cuisine.

The panoramic veranda, Liberty dining room and Clara hall, cosy and discreet, warmed by candle lights and from antique fireplaces, accommodate at times exclusive events, from piano concerts, or harp and violin duets, to even dancing evenings with live music.

In spring and in summer, guests will be spoilt by the light breeze that caresses the Panoramic Terrace and the Gazebo, savouring tasty and unusual recipes,  accompanied by excellent wines. All framed by the green of the landscaped garden as well as the vast park of 40 acres.

THE INDOORS
The building, dating back to the end of the nineteenth century, was sought after by the Count Giuseppe Feltrinelli, who envisaged it as a hunting lodge. Following this, Villa Sostaga was renovated by Alberico Belgioioso, who transformed it into a summer residence to accommodate noble families and distinguished guests during the warmer months.

Recently redeveloped by the Seresina family, in total respect of the “classic” allure which has always characterised it, the building consists of 19 rooms – with lake or park view – divided between the main building and the Meridiana Annexe.

The internal areas are studied to guarantee tranquillity and relaxation typical of a private villa, but at the same time, grant an allure of luxury to the hotel. The charm of the Clarabella lounge and the intimacy of the Liberty hall represent the perfect manifest.

THE OUTDOORS
Emotions that take on different shades. Precious. Sensations to breathe in, to savour, admire. When? During a clear day, as well as during the night, lit by stars and the milky gleam of lights that flourish around the lake. Where? On our veranda, where the panorama is the pinnacle of unforgettable moments.

THE CULINARY ART
After having worked in numerous and well known 4 star hotel restaurants throughout Italy – mostly in the regions of Emilia Romagna, Venice, Lake Garda and Alto Adige –, the chef Gianfranco Pugliese accepted the “challenge” of leading the kitchen brigade of the Restaurant Sostaga.

In terms of culinary style, his philosophy can be summarised by the following concept: innovative but… traditional.

His dishes in fact, are the fruit of the inseparable connubial between the precious National gastronomic heritage and the personal creativity of who intends to add a pinch of innovation to render even more sublime, dishes which are already in themselves, delicious.

A lover of simple and genuine flavours – in his fridge you will always find tomatoes, salad and cheese and adores orecchiette pasta with turnip greens – , our chef, flanked by his fantastic team, is ready to astonish you with his “art”.

THE KITCHEN
Among our suppliers, we can boast the most well-known companies to guarantee freshness and quality. Today more than ever, my research is oriented to products with a very limited environmental impact.

This has led us to collaborate increasingly with local farms for the supply of meat, eggs, cheese, olive oil and fish. It has given me the idea of the Seasonal Menu, which aims to promote local products in respect to the environment and, at the same time, giving t touch of modernity and avant-garde that I like so much.

On returning from your “discovery” tours in the Garda territory, our boutique hotel on Lake Garda puts at your disposition a series of highlights to regenerate your energy ready for a new trip in the outdoors.
