JUNIOR SUITE WUITH MONTE ROSA VIEW
There are only two of these in the world, in both towers of the Kulmhotel Gornergrat, both with an unbelievable view of the mountains. In addition to the view of the Matterhorn, the junior suite offer a view of one-fourth of the entire panorama.
DOUBLE ROOM WITH MATTERHORN VIEW
The view of the Matterhorn is legendary. From your double room with Matterhorn View, you will even have the view from where you are sleeping.
Framed by the Breithorn to the left and the Dent Blanche to the right, “ds’Hore”, as the locals call “the Horn”, stands exactly in the west. In April and October the setting sun plays with the mountain and at one point lands right on the very tip of the famous giant.
DINING
The 3100 Kulmhotel Gornergrat has two restaurants. The Vis-à-vis Restaurant serves Swiss cuisine whilst the Panorama self-service restaurant offers a range of international hot and cold dishes including home-made cakes and sandwiches.
VIS-À-VIS IN THE KULMHOTEL
The menu includes culinary classics prepared by the kitchen team that devotes attention to detail and uses local products. In the evening, the team of the restaurant “vis-à-vis” treats the 3100 Kulmhotel Gornergrat overnight guests with a mouth-watering 4-course dinner.

STARGAZING ON THE GORNEGRAT
The dry air and the remote location mean visitors even have the chance of seeing the Milky Way and the planets with the naked eye.
The “Gornergrat Planetarium” project was launched five years ago, establishing the new observatory in the south tower of the Kulmhotel and inviting the public to join scientists in their exploration of the heavens.

ACTIVITIES IN ZERMATT
You can go skiing in Zermatt any time of year. But there is so much more to discover. Here are a few insider tips from our concierge. Some traditional, some unconventional, but always with the aim of providing a unique experience. And a few old familiar favourites, too, because those things can also make us happy.
Pure pampering
The atmosphere in the spa at the Grand Hotel Zermatterhof reflects the world of the Alps. The Alpine spa landscape includes a pool, whirlpool, sauna area with a hot air sauna, steam bath, Alpine and ice grottos, and a private couples’ spa.
A trip back in time
In 1865, the first ascent of the Matterhorn captivated the imagination of the world. Triumph, tragedy and the start of Zermatt’s transformation from a small mountain village to an internationally renowned holiday destination. Up in the sky high above Zermatt
A sightseeing flight over the majestic Matterhorn and the other magnificent peaks in the Valais Alps is an unforgettable experience. Especially when you can also take in breathtaking views of rugged glaciers. Air Zermatt also flies special routes on request.
A curling match
No worries: you no longer have to bring your equipment with you, as our guests from Scotland did in the 1920s. They always brought the granite stones for their beloved sport of curling with them in their luggage. One thing that hasn’t changed: curling is fun!
Ice skating
The natural and artificial ice rink, which is open to everyone from the tiniest ice princesses to the biggest ice hockey fans, is located in the heart of the village of Zermatt. Entry is free. You can hire equipment on site, and you can even reserve the entire rink (CHF 150.00 per hour).
Paragliding
In the winter months, it is seldom that the weather provides the thermal currents needed for a really long or high paragliding flight or tandem flight, but take-off and landing in the snow are unforgettable experiences nonetheless. And, from the air, the snowy landscape looks like a fairy-tale world.
Ice climbing
Climbing on the ice from frozen waterfalls allows you to reach destinations that you could not otherwise reach. Ice climbing requires in-depth knowledge of Alpine climbing as well as exceptional physical fitness.
Some of the best ice climbers in the world are also mountaineers in Zermatt and are the perfect guides to introduce you to ice climbing .
Gorner gorge
A summer visit to the Gorner gorge is guaranteed to be an unforgettable trip for the whole family. Excursions with mountain guides offer the best possible experience.
Our insider tip: if you are planning to head to the gorge from mid-September onwards, you will be able to see the gorge in the best light conditions and gaze in awe at the magical blue water.
The magical charm of the eternal ice
Explore the glacier palace 15 metres below the surface of the ice and experience the magic of the stunning ice crystals. With breathtaking ice sculptures, crevasses and an ice slide, it is guaranteed to be an experience you will never forget and a truly unique hike.
Waterskiing on the Schalisee lake
