RESTAURANT FRÄKMÜNTEGG
We celebrate Swiss cuisine in the self-service restaurant. Four different types of rösti grated potatoes, among them the house specialty, spicy Dragon rösti, for quelling big appetites.
Fresh and healthy salads from the copious buffet, home-made fruit cakes and other delicious desserts complete the menu. Host Matthias Portmann and his team look forward to your visit.
DRACHENALP
Built from so much wood, it’s just cozy. Open and yet protected, thanks to the huge roof. One has the feeling that a dragon is spreading its wings. How fitting. Fortunately he doesn’t spit fire. But you can make a fire yourself on the large barbecue site.
The perfect place for extended barbecue fun after plenty of action on Fräkmüntegg. At the integrated kiosk, meat and baked potatoes are waiting for you to grill yourself. Round off your meal with crispy French fries, a glass of wine or a refreshing ice cream.
FAMILY RESTAURANT KRIENSEREGG
The family-friendly restaurant Krienseregg is dedicated to pizza and pasta. The self-service restaurant is located right next to the middle station and the PILU-Land playground – ideal for an excursion with children.
RESTAURANT CHALET IN ALPNACHSTAD
Take a seat under the linden trees, which give our garden restaurant Chalet a cozy atmosphere. Here, young and old will find a soothing refreshment for the Pilatus experience.
Watch the action as the boats arrive and the world’s steepest cogwheel railroad impressively moves through the steep mountain massif. The day ends particularly well over a «Central Swiss Plättli» with regional specialties and a refreshing beer or glass of wine.

FRYING, GRILLING, PICNICKING – FIRE PITS ON MT. PILATUS
What could be nicer than eating in the biggest kitchen in the world? Outside in a grilling spot. Whether birthday party, school trip or family celebration – you will find many grill spots with wooden tables and benches around the PILU Land playground.
They are, of course, also great for backpack picnics. Other good spots for grilling are under the Pilatus rope park on Fräkmüntegg and on the Egg above the Restaurant Krienseregg.
From there the view of the Horwer lake basin and Lucerne is awesome. Even at the other locations, grilling out at Mt. Pilatus is hard to beat. PILATUS-BAHNEN AG supplies wood for the fire pits. More tinder can be found in the surrounding woods.

DRAGON GLIDER
Spread out your arms and experience the gentle flight with the Dragon Glider from Fräkmüntegg to the Drachenalp. Sit in, hang in, glide off – you fly through the forest first high, then low, the trees close enough to touch, once in a circle and further towards your destination.
TREE TENTS
In the Tree Tents you sleep divinely floating above the ground. After a round in the Rope Park a delicious buffet is awaiting you in the evening.
WIPFELPFAD
Collect summit knowledge? Exactly! On the way on the Wipfelpfad you will discover nature. Safely protected by safety nets, you climb from tree to tree and slip into a cosy nest again and again.
DRACHENALP
You can make a fire on the large barbecue site. The perfect place for extensive Barbecue fun. By the way, at the integrated kiosk you can get great treats for the small appetite.
SUMMER TOBOGGAN
Zoom through steep curves, dragon dens and over jumps. At 1,350 meters the summer toboggan Fräkigaudi on the Fräkmüntegg is the longest summer toboggan run in Switzerland.
PARAGLIDING
The flying area around the Pilatus is demanding and fascinating. Before considering a take-off from the Pilatus it is absolutely essential to have consulted the weather forecast.
Official take-off and landing spots are provided for you to use. Before taking the first flight make sure to check the website of Paragliding club Lucerne or the information board in the valley station in Kriens.

SINCE 1889 FROM ALPNACH AND UP THE PILATUS
Commissioned in 1889, a gradient of up to 48 percent, about 30 minutes travel time: that is the steepest cogwheel railway in the world in figures. Meter by meter it scales the way from Alpnachstad to Pilatus Kulm, passing alpine meadows and striking rock formations.
THE GONDOLAS FROM KRIENS
In only 30 minutes the Panorama Gondolas will have you front and center of the Pilatus adventure. Climb aboard and enjoy the marvelous view. From Kriens, glide in the gondolas over Krienseregg to the Fräkmüntegg station.
THE SENSATION OF FLYING
A cockpit-like cabin, windows extending down to the floor and plenty of space – the aerial cableway «Dragon Ride» gives a sensation of flying. In three-and-a-half minutes you will glide from Fräkmüntegg to the summit, with breathtaking views in every direction.
