You know what you want – and you know where to get it. A digital detox and time to soak up the impressive splendour of nature.

Treat yourself to a fabulous stay in invigorating mountain air – relax in the peaceful atmosphere, get active in the outdoors and indulge in extravagant dishes. At La Val Hotel Brigels, you’ll find a way of life known only to a select few.

Our mountain spa hotel is simply excellent – and so is Brigels itself. The village boasts one of the most beautiful panoramas in the Grisons and more sunshine than anywhere else.

Plus, it’s topped the table in the ADAC’s ‘small but perfectly formed’ category of the most beautiful places in Switzerland. It’s a paradise for walking, golfing, biking… or just relaxing and soaking up the atmosphere. And that’s not all: our ski resort has been awarded ‘best-kept pistes’ in four countries.

Rightly so! We hope you have a wonderful time during your holiday in Brigels, a rustic village nestled amidst the dramatic Grisons mountain ranges.

Owner’s Suite
The top of the line. This split-level suite spread over 155 m2 is the biggest that La Val’s got.

The interior pays homage to French country chic, with hand-painted ceilings, antique parquet from a French chateau and oil paintings by renowned artists such as Anton Räderscheidt, Julius Paul Junghans, Klaus Fussmann and Alois Carigiet giving the suite an air of charm and authenticity.

Three bedrooms, a marble bathroom with a shower and a marble bathroom with a bathtub: you couldn’t ask for more! There’s even an exquisitely designed kitchen so you can put on your chef’s hat and open a bottle of wine to enjoy with a couple of friends, say.

After all, the large wooden table in the living area has plenty of space for 10 people. Once you’ve eaten, you can enjoy a coffee or a digestif in the cosy seating area by the open fireplace…

And what about the views? The Owner’s Suite has not one, but two balconies: in short, you’re guaranteed a jaw-dropping panorama across Surselva.

Junior Suite
Be seduced: our Junior Suites are as cool as ice and jaw-droppingly sexy. They feature an open-plan design with a luxurious bath atop a raised platform with a vanity unit that can be accessed from both sides, plus a walk-in shower.

The bed is arranged at a slight angle against the illuminated rear wall and enjoys a view of the cosy seating area, adding yet another highlight to this 40 m2 suite.  If you’re in the Junior Suite located on the ground floor, you can access the garden from your room, via a terrace furnished with armchairs and cosy furs.

In the other Junior Suites, you can gaze out over the village and enjoy a panoramic view of the mountains from the spacious balconies kitted out with exclusive furnishings.

Comfort
A Comfort room is a Classic room with a balcony. You’ll find everything you need tucked into a cosy 21 m2: stylish alpine chic interiors with a stunning view of the mountains of the Grisons. A Comfort room is a Classic room with a balcony.

You’ll find everything you’d expect from a double room at La Val, tucked into a cosy 21 m2: stylish alpine chic interiors and a stunning view of the mountains of the Grisons. Of course, this view looks even better when enjoyed from your own balcony, surrounded by the fresh air!

Dining
A light lunch before your afternoon stroll in the mountains – or a romantic four-course dinner to round off a perfect day? Top-notch haute cuisine, or rustic, hearty Swiss fare? No matter what you choose, our kitchen team, headed up by the multiple award-winning chef Rudolf Möller, can cater to your every whim.

And their goal is always the same: blowing you away with taste sensations you’ve never experienced before.

Alpine atmosphere included
‘Lavalino’ is our cosy fondue room, designed in the style of an Alpine hut. We’ve created a rustic ambiance with loving attention to detail, making it the perfect spot to enjoy our traditional fondue and raclette specialities. ‘Lavalino’ can be booked for a minimum of six people and we guarantee you a great atmosphere!

Rudolf Möller
Chef’s apprentice, Commis de Cuisine, Chef de Partie. Learning from scratch. But it didn’t take long: just five years after his apprenticeship, Rolf Möller became a sous chef at the five-star Park Hotel Vitznau, before becoming a sous chef at ‘La Brochette’ in Oslo and then at the luxury Savoy Hotel in Arosa.

In 1988, he trained as a chef de cuisine. In the same year, he dished up 16 GaultMillau points as soon as stepped into the role of Executive Chef at Park Hotel Vitznau. Ten years later, he worked as a chef in Ascona, at the five-star Parkhotel Delta.

He founded ‘Sapori del Sud Ascona Sagl’, focusing on every aspect of the speciality business, from procurement through to coaching and catering. He has been cooking for our guests in Brigels, spoiling them and surprising them, since 2010.

Regional gourmet cuisine
Sophisticated elegance is the order of the day. At Ustria Miracla, we offer a passionate celebration of culinary highlights. A tantalising menu, excellent service and perfect wine pairings ensure that every evening at Ustia Miracla is an unforgettable experience. At least, until the next one…

Casual dining
Easy-going casual dining in an urban alpine atmosphere. At Da Rubi restaurant, we cater to your every whim, from rustic fondues to tartes flambées for you to add your own toppings to.

Our legendary raclette deluxe, which includes a wine pairing, will leave raclette fans drooling – a gourmet contrast that blows our guests’ minds! When the weather’s nice, you can enjoy the entire menu on the sun terrace or in our sunset lounge.

Cook global, eat local
International cuisine and regional products – does that sound like a contradiction in terms? Not at all: it’s our recipe for success!

Ten different cheeses from the village dairy, milk fresh from our Brigels cows, Grisons salami and meat specialities from Schmed the village butcher, bread and pastries from Gabriel, the village baker… and all our fruit and vegetables are sourced in Switzerland. Enjoy!

Have you heard of the «Arc de Brigels»?
From international cocktails to traditional long drinks, there’s hardly anything we can’t conjure up. Start the day with a ristretto, enjoy an aperitif before dinner and wrap up the day with a nightcap in the wee hours.

The ‘Arc de Brigels’, our walk-in wine store, is the bar’s architectural highlight. You’ll be tempted to stroll through it – and to pause for a while, rummaging through the bottles it houses. Now, how about a glass of port?

Cosy romance? Check!
‘Lavalino’ is our cosy fondue lounge, done up in an alpine style. In winter, enjoy traditional fondue and raclette specialities (of course!) in rustic surroundings designed with a loving eye for detail. ‘Lavalino’ is available for groups of six or more – and a great atmosphere is guaranteed!

Furnascha – a smoker’s delight
At this hour, the library merely serves as a backdrop. As the fire crackles away in the hearth, cigar aficionados can truly indulge in their passion.

Can you imagine a more stylish way to round off a busy day on holiday in Brigels than with a fine hand-rolled La Val cigar in one hand and an exquisite glass of Armagnac, say, in the other?

And of course, our fumoir is also home to a small selection of hand-picked spirits, from rum to whisky through to port, Madeira and cognac. Incidentally, the air circulates around the fumoir just comme il faut.

After all, you want to leave having enjoyed your cigar – not with its smoke still clinging to your clothes. Our three very own cigar variants from the Dominican Republic are rightly considered to be first-rate.

They have a light taste and burn wonderfully, right to the very end. They’re a dream! You wouldn’t be the first guest to take a box (or several!) home with them…

Spa
Warmth and cosiness, Vals quartzite and rough-hewn wood. There’s no question about it: at La Val, you can soak up the unique experience of a mountain spa in the midst of relaxing surroundings.

And there’s everything your heart could desire, from a Finnish sauna and a herb sauna, through to a private sauna, themed showers, two steam rooms and, of course, the wonderfully warm spa pool with integrated bubble beds.

The magical power of massage
No matter whether you opt for a traditional massage or a hot stone treatment, a full-body rub-down or a targeted session, La Val’s spa therapists know how a massage can work wonders big and small.

They tailor the massage to your needs so they can target blockages in your body, bring tired legs back to life and revitalise swollen feet. It’s magic!

You’re as beautiful as you feel
Our recipe for success: a personalised consultation and signature products from leading labs such as Craith LAB or Ligne St. Barth, hand-picked just for you. How about an oxygen treatment?

Oxygen stimulates your skin and strengthens your immune system so your skin looks healthier, smoother and fresher. In short, it makes you look younger. Give it a try!

Day spa, a perfect break from everyday life
Just leave everything behind you, switch off and do something for yourself, for once. And at La Val, we don’t leave non-residents out.

Our spa hotel has an array of attractive day spa offers, ranging from light, gentle relaxation through to a holistic detox programme with massages and beauty treatments. Simply book yours and enjoy!

Events: business or casual
No matter whether you are celebrating a wedding or an anniversary, having a business meeting or a corporate weekend away, you will feel at home at La Val.

Surrounded by our inspiring mountain backdrop, you can enjoy the service, our exclusive cuisine and everything else that is on offer in our hotel and around Brigels. Welcome to La Val!

Our benchmark? Your very own idea of a perfect wedding! To make your dreams a reality, we pull out all the stops to turn our hotel into your stage and treat you and your guests to mouth-watering food and top-class service. All you need to say is ‘I do’! You may now kiss the bride.

Business events
Business meetings, team events, corporate workshops – you name it! No matter what you are planning, you have come to the right place: we may be at the top of the mountains, but we are also at the top of the tree when it comes to business events.

Our meeting room features all the usual seminar equipment and plenty of room for 25 people to work in silence, argue at the top of their voices or settle down for a visionary brainstorming session.

And our main selling point? All the trappings that go along with this! We have got mouth-watering cuisine, a wine cellar to make you merry, inspirational natural surroundings and a wonderful array of potential trips and supporting events.

And last but not least: we do not believe in cookie-cutter solutions, so we tailor everything to suit you and your team’s requirements.

Activities
Brigels enjoys more sunshine than almost anywhere else in Switzerland, making it ideal for a huge variety of active leisure activities in the glorious Alpine scenery. It’s the perfect place for hiking and biking, or simple relaxation.

The golf course located on Brigels’ panoramic plateau is legendary, and the countless secluded barbecue sites are tourist magnets in summer. Less well known is Europe’s highest spruce forest. It’s called Uaul Scatlè and it is… well, that’s our secret – until you get here! Come and discover our lovely area.

The village of Brigels
Sun-baked farmhouses and ancient churches, twisting alleyways, a village square and even a castle: Brigels isn’t a tourist hotspot with nothing but souvenir shops, but a lively village that has kept its rustic charm right to the present day.

Here, nothing is artificial, and everything is natural. In other words, it’s a perfect spot to relax for a few days and get away from it all.

Hiking
From a relaxed stroll before dinner to a multi-day hike across the mountain passes, Brigels has the perfect path for any walker, with more than 150 kilometres of hiking routes.

They run from the hotel down to the banks of the Rhine and right up into the mountains, at a lofty 2729 metres above sea level. And, just between us, a wander through Uaul Scatlè, Europe’s highest spruce forest, is particularly worth it. But do not tell anyone else!

Cycling
If you prefer to take it easy, hire an e-bike from one of our partners and pedal away until the last battery light starts blinking. Of course, that is not enough for ambitious types.

They can still get their fill, though, thanks to a bike network stretching 1299 kilometres from the source of the Rhine to its gorge, with trails for every level of difficulty. Still not enough?

Then you are a perfect candidate for the ‘Tura Roiala’ or ‘Royal Tour’, which climbs no less than 2700 metres over 71 km. This ‘tortura’ even poses a challenge for the most hardened riders. Craving a particular bike? No problem! La Val guests can rent bikes and e-bikes from our local partners.

Golf
Brigels. We have got one of the most beautiful golf courses in the whole of Switzerland. The sun-soaked Tschuppina plateau is home to a wonderful 9-hole course. And how can you get there? It’s just a few minutes’ from our hotel!

The backdrop makes the experience even more stunning, but we all know variety is the spice of life and we can also recommend two other golf courses nearby: another 9-hole course in Sedrun (28 km), and the 18-hole course at Buna Vista Golf in Sagogn (21.5 km), which is a little closer.

BBQ with a hotel rucksack
We’ll let you focus on planning your hike – and we’ll take care of the provisions. Relax around a barbecue in the beauty of Brigels’ idyllic mountain spots and tuck in to fresh-cooked delicacies from the hotel to invigorate you for the next stage!

We’ll pack up a hiking rucksack with everything you need: sausages, steak and a walking map. Saddle up and set off for your adventures!

Ski & Snowboard
Plenty of sun, plenty of snow, plenty of ski slopes – and not too many people. That’s been Brigels’ recipe for success for many years. We have over fifty kilometres of perfect pistes.

And while people elsewhere are treading on each other’s toes in the ski lift queue, in Brigels you’ll already be swinging down the slopes on your second run. Now that’s how a ski holiday should be!

By the way: the lifts and one of Switzerland’s best snow-sports schools are easy to reach from the hotel on foot – or, even easier, with the free local bus, which stops in front of the hotel every few minutes.

Dogs at La Val

Naturally, you don’t want to leave your furry friend at home for the best occasion of the year. Share our unique combination of relaxation, winter sports, wellness, fine cuisine and hiking with your four-legged companion.

Four of our Deluxe rooms, a Junior suite with direct access to the garden, and a number of our standard suites are equipped to accommodate pets. Bow-WOW!
