The architecture and interior design are an interpretation of the forest and the surrounding nature, while also using the latest technological innovations to minimise the hotel’s impact on the environment – the hotel will be powered using an ‘ice battery’, no less!
The hotel features 40 rooms and 9 family apartments (1-2 bedrooms with kitchenettes), each complete with large balconies, a restaurant with a huge sun-soaked terrace vis-a-vis the mountains and an 800 sqm spa nestling on the edge of the Arosa forest.
Interior designer Carlo Rampazzi had a vision of an ‘open house’ for the interior rooms – with nature as the artist. The result is an ideal combination of the perfection of wood, stone and glass.

Our gin menu surprises even long-time gin lovers and gives life a gin again. On Wednesdays the Twist lounge becomes a cinema: from 20:30 we show classic movies in our living room. Popcorn fragrance guaranteed.
Cheese Fondue with a View
Enjoy a delicious a Maran cheese fondue with your loved ones in a familiar circle on your own room balcony with a view of the snow-covered Arosa mountain landscape. That is real fun.
The cheese fondue is accompanied by potatoes and bread, a bottle of white wine from “Aigle Les Murailles” and a bottle of Arosa water. This experience can be booked on request and subject to availability.
Valsana Spa Arosa
The 800 m2 spa facilities include a relaxation pool with a view of the mountains, a modern fitness studio, a yoga room with a panoramic view, a steam bath and a sauna area in old wood with a view that will transport you directly to the woods of Arosa.
The products used meet the highest organic standards: for our massages and beauty treatments, we use products from the London-based brand THE ORGANIC PHARMACY.
Enhanced with aromatherapeutic essential oils, the result is a high-end natural cosmetic product full of highly effective natural extracts and ingredients. Nail polish from LONDONTOWN is florium complex infused – a vitamin cocktail that nourishes and fortifies nails with every application.

In addition, we offer a selection of different sports activities such as yoga, Pilates or functional training in our Valsana Sportclub. Our personal trainer Tanja Zauner is personally at your side. She completed her extensive training as a Yoga teacher in Los Angeles and is also a certified BASI Pilates trainer.

Welcome to Bike Kingdom Arosa Lenzerheide

Arosa bike trails
The biking area in Arosa, better known as Bear Mountains, combines almost endless single trails and flow trails, and thus connects high Alpine areas with gentler wooded sections. Whatever your preferred style, you will get your money’s worth.
Anyone who has already explored the Bear Mountains can use the Urdenbahn cable car to quickly and conveniently get to other parts of the Bike Kingdom. Look forward to routes that will guarantee biking fun whatever your preferred style: from gentle to sporty, simple to difficult and of course routes for the whole family.
Bike Valsana Hotel Arosa
It’s no accident that Graubünden is also referred to as the Home of Trails. All hiking trails resemble bike trails and are therefore perfect for riding on. Naturally, that can only work with lots of mutual respect.
The Arosa All inclusive Card, valid throughout Arosa, gives you a 30% reduction on the transport of bikes. Our certified bike guides would be happy to give you real insider tips on the many trails.
The bike parks in the vicinity are just waiting for you to show your Whip, North-Shore and Gravity skills. And very ambitious bikers can try the enduro tours with a unique nature and single-trail experience.
In collaboration with the Arosa Bikeschool, we would be happy to organise guided tours with local riders from the Arosa mountains for an unforgettable bike adventure.
Biking with the family
At last: the summer holidays have come round with plenty of time for action. Arosa is the perfect starting point for family bike tours. Right beside the Hörnli-Express valley station, the Skill Center offers a suitable platform, especially for children, to prepare for the biking experiences in Arosa.
A perfect infrastructure is available for bike beginners with four different practice trails as well as a moving belt. The Skill Center setup is similar to the training concept of the Arosa Bikeschool, which combines biking technique with playful elements thanks to its “Bären-Bikebande” (a group of bike-riding bears).
Our Hörnli Trail, the Arosa Flowtrail, is unique in the Alpine area. A length of 6.8 km and the topographical conditions are unique on the Hörnli and seem to be made for a flow trail that can be ridden by bikers of virtually all skill levels, and is also suitable for families.
The mountain bike trail is closed to hikers and can only be used by bikers. Incidentally, there is a small practice pump track around 200 metres from the Valsana Hotel Arosa.
In addition to the Skill Center at the Hörnli-Express valley station, the pump track at Ochsenbühl also features a perfect play area for children. Pump tracks are designed for experienced bikers, but are all the more fun.
And if anyone fancies a break, we highly recommend a trip to the Bear Sanctuary, where people of all ages can learn lots of interesting facts about animal welfare while relaxing before they get back in the saddle again.

E-mountain bike
A whole day of biking? With an e-bike, even bikers who don’t have the chance to get out regularly can look forward to a full day’s enjoyment. Age and level of fitness are no longer relevant. Uphill flow makes ascents easy.
This results in a training effect that is ideal for regeneration and basic training. The Valsana has a selection of e-bikes available for hire (hard-tail) in the hotel (price: CHF 20 for ½ day, CHF 40 for a full day). Thanks to the dense network of charging stations, all routes are open to you.

Forest Bathing
Guided by our yoga teacher, you will leave the beaten track behind and enter the silence of the forest using an ebike.
Shinrin yoku (forest bathing in Japanese) is a natural therapy that promotes relaxation and vitality. This is an activity that reduces stress hormones and helps quieten the mind. Every Wednesday this experience takes place free of charge.
Paddleboarding on the Obersee lake
Learn to paddleboard on Obersee lake. This is a great activity that combines exercise and relaxation. We will provide everything you need to enjoy the activity and a picnic will be served before we return to the hotel. This experience is free of charge every Saturday.
Trail biking in Arosa
This Empowering Expedition takes you on a thrilling ride through the trails of Arosa. After a fitting session at the Hörnli Skill Center, you will set off with an experienced guide on a 7 km ride that takes in 113 curves and an elevation of 519 metres.
Refreshments will be provided and you’ll receive a participation certificate to prove you took on the challenge. This adventure is suitable for the whole family.
Mountain Lake Bathing
Enjoy an ice bath in the cold spring water of a mountain lake. Your adrenaline and endorphin levels will be raised as your body reacts to the extremely low temperature of the water.
This activity helps promote good circulation and strengthens your immune system. The reward for your bravery will be a relaxing picnic surrounded by alpine roses in bloom and a view of the valley.
Foraging in Nature
Although nature can be harsh at 1800 metres’ the alpine forests provide protection and are a source of warmth and sustenance.
Join us on this experience as we travel into these woods to forage for wild foods. You will learn first-hand how to pick mushrooms and berries that can be taken back to the kitchen and used in delicious recipes.
Morning Yoga by Untersee Lake
Start your day with an energising yoga session. Our yoga teacher will guide you to a practise that takes place in a magical setting on the shores of the Untersee lake. This class is suitable for all levels of yoga experience. The main focus is on mobility, flexibility and relaxation. Afterwards we will enjoy breakfast together.
Cheese Fondue Backpack
The ultimate picnic during winter. For your hunger in between, in the midst of nature, we have prepared mobile cheese fondue backpacks.
