Delights of senses are one of the highlights of an unforgettable day. This is why tempting a gourmet’s taste buds is one of the Abbaye de Talloires priorities. To satisfy the different tastes of the clientele, we propose a choice of two excellent restaurants.
ACCOMMODATION
Nothing has really changed! The Abbey remains a genuine haven of peace conducive to serenity, calm and rest. The majority of the 37 suites and rooms are situated around the oaken Grand Gallery over two floors offering breathtaking views: some with a direct view over the lake and others over the gardens.
Each room has its own individual character: whether it’s size, decoration or location, its character has been preserved whilst succumbing to comfort and modernity. They have been been equipped with air conditioning in 2019.
As the Abbey is a listed historical monument, we have no possibility to install a lift and thus we can not welcome clients with mobility handicap (No room with PMR standarts). Nevertheless the restaurant is accessible to wheelchairs. There are further renovation works planned for 2019 in order to make the Abbey accessible for other handicaps.
SUITES
Each of these 4 superb suites situated on the ground floor, 1st floor and 2nd floor, sized between 44 and 56 m², offer magnificent views of the lake. Decorated with the finest Rubelli and JAB fabrics, two of them can accommodate up to 4 persons.
- The Jean Reno suite: This is Jean Reno’s favorite room; it has exposed wooden beams and is very bright thanks to the two windows overlooking the lake and the two balconies offering views over the gardens. There is also a magnificent bathroom with original wood panelling and equipped with a bath and a shower. Colour pattern: blue and brown.
- The Impératrice Eugénie suite: a large room adorned with original woodwork around the windows dating from 1681 and antique furnishings. Bathroom with bathtub. Colour pattern: orange.
- The Cézanne Suite: 360° views, lounge with two sofa beds, large bedroom with exposed beams, two dressing rooms, bathroom with Jacuzzi bath and separate shower. Colour pattern: golden beige.
- The Bruce Willis suite: our newest creation. Situated on the ground floor for our clients who have problems climbing the stairs or those who just want to enjoy the magnificent views of the water surface. Lounge with two sofa beds, large bedroom and magnificent bathroom with the lake view with bathtub and separate shower. Colour: golden blue
THE LAKE VIEW ROOMS
Antique furnishings and precious fabrics combined with modern comforts transform these rooms into an invitation to true relaxation. Located along the facade of the Abbaye, each one offers a superlative view over the ever-changing waters of the lake.
Covering a surface of between 20 and 29m², some rooms have exposed wooden beams, bathrooms with baths and some with balneo therapy showers. There is no doubt that the Prior’s Room is the most authentic in its category.
A listed monument, it features exceptionally beautiful and original wall hangings, splendid paintings, original woodwork and parquet flooring dating back to 1681! After two years of restauration works it is now accessible to our clientele for a really authentic stay.
ROOMS WITH VIEWS OVER THE GARDEN
The 16 rooms in this category are situated around the Grand Gallery or the cloister gallery on the 1st and 2nd floors. With surface areas of between 20 and 27m², these rooms, some with exposed beam ceilings, have private bathrooms with bathtubs.
Traditionally decorated, using fine materials, each one has its own balcony with views of the gardens, the village and the mountains. The 3 overlooking the cloister do not have a balcony.
DINING
The Abbaye de Talloires is a unique site where the perfumes of the lake, the mountains and the herbs from our garden leave place to a sublime inspiration of a Chef.
It is here that our Head chef Christophe Le Digol composes for you a culinary promenade of sensuality and flavours, colours and scents, all cooked with perfect precision, the quality of the products, beautiful presentation and a large spectrum of seasonings to better develop the flavours.
Wine is a question of excellence in the Aux Jardins des Délices! Charly, our Head Sommelier, has nurtured both a judicious and endearing wine cellar; he conducts a tour through all the different regions of France where the most easily drinkable wines are aligned with the most prestigious vintages.
BISTRONOMIC
The bistronomic opens from mid-June to mid-September with its tasty menus and reasonable prices. In summer, with a magnificent view over Lake Annecy, majestic lime trees and hundred-year-old plane trees provide comforting shade on the lakeside terrace, where a light summer cuisine is prepared in front of your eyes.
THE WINE CELLAR
Revealing the oenological heritage of all the regions of France and its renowned wines, the historic Abbey wine cellar conceals unsuspected treasures.
Under the direction of Charly, the sommelier-alchemist, a historian and geographer of the wine-producing regions, select your wine: a vintage or a more modest bottle, a small price or big budget -you have the choice. The region of the Two Savoys is naturally well represented with more than 65 references!
TASTING CLASSES
Tasting classes for groups of 6 or more, including tasting of different wines selected by our Maître sommelier Charly accompanied with the assortment of local products (cold cuts and cheeses from the region).
THE PIANO BAR
An extraordinary venue with its centenary vaulted ceilings, completely refurbished in 2018, special ambience, music and the wide choice of surprising cocktails and high quality strong spirits along with a warm welcome from our barman. Or enjoy the calm and serenity of the sunset on the patio in front of the hotel while enjoying your preferred drink.
THE HEAD CHEF & HIS TEAM
Chef Frédéric Claudel arrived in Talloires guided by his taste for the mountains, nature and the products of this environment. Originally from Burgundy, he left for the capital for his military service before working at the Elysée Palace for Jacques Chirac.
This was the beginning of his journey to the fine Parisian houses. He started as a clerk at the Georges V, the Crillon, then joined the team at the Vernet alongside Alain Soliveres, who became his mentor over time.
Afterwards, a new adventure was offered to him and he participated in the opening of a Parisian palace: The Shangri La. He will continue to practice his passion while climbing the ladder at Les Ombres and then at Fauchon where he will become the first executive chef of the Hotel Fauchon Paris.
THE SPA
Set up under the millennial roof of the Abbey, the new 200m² spa is entirely dedicated to your well-being and rest. Its soft lights, dark hues, clean lines, exposed beams and noble materials give it a unique, cosy atmosphere in a wooded setting.

Lake Annecy, whose waters are the purest in Europe, is a natural haven for water sports enthusiasts. The 18 hole golf courses feature fairways and greens that meander through the most beautiful countryside. The surrounding mountains have an endless variety of marked trails and paths for ramblers and hikers.
If staying in Abbaye for at least 3 nights, we will be happy to offer you an activity pass which will give you free access to the Talloires beaches, selection of some water sports (boat renting, pedalo, paddle, and kayak).
BIKE RENTAL
Would you like to rent bikes at the Abbey? Our rental partner NOMAD BIKE will be glad to bring them for you, directly in our establishment. You will be able to choose among nice SCOTT bikes, electric or not, for adults and children.
Equipment for the transport of your children is available (trailers and baby seats), as well as for your dog. All you have to do is to book them on the website or at the hotel reception.
