Casale dei Frontini is an ‘agriturismo’ (a farm with guest accommodation) 8 Km from Todi, set among the magnificent Umbrian hills of the ‘Green Heart of Italy’. It is conveniently situated for all the cultural and environmental beauties of the Umbria region.

The farmhouse is located in an old convent building from the late 1700s, surrounded by about 20 hectares of farmland with olive groves, vineyards, sunflower and wheat fields, and woodland.

The farmhouse has been restored with the same taste and the same devotion with which it was built almost 300 years ago. It has large exposed stone and brick walls, wooden beams, travertine lintels and other typical eighteenth-century architectural features such as the shapes of the doors and windows.

Sitting in the portico and the garden, across the valley you can admire the enchanting beauty of the city of Todi that stands out like the view in a postcard. And as you would write in a postcard, the stillness and tranquillity of the Umbrian countryside helps relax your body and raise your spirit.

Casale dei Frontini is located in a central area of ​​Umbria where you can easily reach most of the cities of art, from Assisi to Orvieto and from Perugia to Spoleto. Spello, Montefalco and Rasiglia, the more distant Gubbio, Norcia and Castelluccio, and Civita di Bagnoregio on the Umbrian border with Lazio, are among the many medieval towns and villages which are true jewels of our splendid region.

ROOMS
Casale dei Frontini has 5 double bedrooms all furnished with rustic ‘arte povera’ furniture. Each room is decorated in a different colour chosen depending on where the sun rises or sets, and some have exposed stone which highlight the beauty of the walls.

All are equipped with private bathroom, bed linen and towels, hairdryer, TV, heating and free Wi-Fi Internet. One of these rooms can be used as a triple room with the addition of a cot/child’s bed. All rooms have views either of the surrounding landscape or onto the garden.

APARTMENTS
At Casale dei Frontini you will find 3 apartments each sleeping 2/4 (a bed and a very comfortable sofa bed), equipped with kitchenette and fridge for a more independent stay. The apartments are composed of: double bedroom; bathroom; living room with kitchenette equipped with fridge, crockery and cutlery and a sofa bed for 2 people.

They are most suitable for 2 adults and 2 children/teenagers. They are equipped with bed linen and towels, hairdryer, TV, heating, free Wi-Fi Internet. One apartment is wheelchair accessible.

RESTAURANT
A stay at Casale dei Frontini is also an opportunity to discover the unique flavours of Umbrian cuisine – one of the healthiest and most genuine – following the ancient recipes of this land.

A cuisine made above all with the products from our farm such as Chianina beef, extra virgin olive oil, olives, and vegetables harvested from our garden. Under the wooden beams of our restaurant (with a maximum capacity of about 40 people), you can enjoy the tasty dishes of our cuisine, and local produce.

This ranges from tagliatelle with goose sauce to Chianina steak, and from spelt soup to roast lamb, as well as many other traditional Umbrian recipes, or you can taste dried sausages, cured meats and cheeses paired with local wines (Grechetto di Todi, Sagrantino di Montefalco, etc).

Also here in the restaurant, in the morning (from 8.00 to 9.30) our guests can breakfast on croissants, torcolo (an Umbrian speciality), homemade cakes and tarts with jams, and the honey we produce ourselves. The Casale dei Frontini restaurant also caters for non-residents but only by reservation.

THE FARM
Our farm is made up of 20 hectares of land surrounding the farmhouse and converted to organic production. The land is divided into arable (with crop rotation of wheat, sunflowers and barley), woodland, a pasture meadow for hay production, a vineyard, a vegetable garden where we harvest seasonal vegetables to serve in our kitchen, a small production of saffron, and finally an olive grove.

The latter, together with the breeding of Chianina cattle, are the flagship of our farm. Our animals are raised with passion and respect from birth, registered in the herd book according to the criteria of certified bodies (APA, ANABIC, 5R) and fed with healthy produce.

In our olive grove, from October, we harvest the olives from which we produce Umbria’s famous extra virgin olive oil, known for its aroma, its delicacy and low acidity, and which is used in our kitchen or sold directly to our guests.

For some years we have been producing hams and other cured meats from pigs outdoor reared on the farm, fed with acorns collected in our woods, barley, corn and field beans. These ‘Km zero’ products allow you to rediscover true flavours.

Among the products of our farm we also have the wildflower honey that we produce from these hills, which we then sell or use for breakfast in the restaurant. Furthermore, wandering around the farm you will also see other small animals such as hens, chickens, rabbits, geese and pigs.

SERVICES
Casale dei Frontini has a swimming pool with a view of Todi, surrounded by roses, lavender, oleanders, a pergola of grape vines and climbing roses, and many other plants, where you can relax after a day spent visiting Umbria. If this is not enough or doesn’t satisfy the most rebellious of souls, then very well!

You just have to choose between the activities available:

• horse riding along bridle paths (riding stable 2 km away);
• cycling with E-bikes up and down the hills through fields of sunflowers and wheat (which can be booked on our website or directly once you arrive);
• challenging each other to table tennis or bowls; simply swinging in a hammock, or wandering around the farm and watching the languor of the cattle and the hubbub of the geese.

Casale dei Frontini offers services for a pleasant and relaxing stay:
