An entire hill, on the border between Umbria and Tuscany, in the land of the mysterious Etruscan civilization, set in the countryside. An oasis of peace, quiet and relaxation, where almost forgot to resume a dialogue with nature, with themselves.

The organic farm of 30 hectares is located within the Park S.T.I.N.A. , halfway between Roma and Firenze, located in the beautiful hills of Umbria, 450 meters above sea level, in the town of Monteleone d’Orvieto, and surrounded by woods, olive groves, vineyards and medieval villages of Fabro, Parrano, Montegabbione, Montegiove and Castel di Fiori.

The holidays farmhouse is divided into spacious and comfortable apartments with garden, furnished with taste and attention to create an intimate and familiar place. The living room is made ​​even more enjoyable and relaxing thanks to the large swimming pool and gazebo with panoramic views over Val di Chiana. Also within the house is the cellar dug into the tuff, where you can taste wine and extra virgin olive oil organic single variety of produce.

EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL
Our oil is produced from olives grown organically on our farm of 30 acres at 450mt above sea level on the hills between Umbria and Tuscany.The installation of 6 hectares of olive grove was planted in 1998 on the basis of a project which planned to obtain the mono-varietal oils derived from cultivars typical of the area: MORAIOLO, FRANTOIO, LECCINO.

The olives are harvested manually, to the right degree of ripeness,start from the middle of October. The olives harvested are milled in the same day, so they do not undergo a process of oxidation and qualitative degradation, to the nearby oil mill that uses the method of continuous cold extraction (processing temperature not higher than 27 ° degrees) then:

  • The excellent geographical location and climate that reduce pest attacks;
  • The separation of the cultivars which allows the collection of the same staggered to achieve the right level of maturity for each variety;
  • Manually harvesting that reduces the time and respects the integrity of the plant and the olive;
  • Certified organic cultivation and traced, crop care constants (rational pruning, fertilizing, organic soil management);
  • The method of cold extraction within 24 hours of collection;
  • Care in storing oil away from sources of heat, direct sunlight and oxygen;
  • All of the above said helps to make our organic olive oil a product of high nutritional value and taste , rich in polyphenols , low acidity and low peroxide value.

TREKKING
For lovers of trekking and nature, excursions organized by the co-op TERRA in the pristine forests among the remains of ancient forts between Mount Melonta, Monte Città di Fallera and Monte Arale from which you enjoy magnificent views of the mountains of the five regions Toscana, Marche, Abruzzo, Lazio and Umbria off course.

All around the view of the small towns with ancient castles: Montegiove, Castel dei Fiori, Greppolischieto, Pornello. Lovers of trekking can learn more about the vast area that stretches from the hills of the Trasimeno lake up to the plateau of the tuffs, between Orvieto and Bolsena, along the 5 “rings”

HORSEMANSHIP
Horseback riding in the beautiful surrounding trails, crossing the medieval towns of Monteleone d’Orvieto and Fabro, Parrano, Montegabbione, Montegiove and Castel di Fiori, while enjoying the spectacular views from the summit of Mount Peglia or take riding lessons (western riding, English and Maremma ) organized by Mimmo.

SCARZUOLA

EXCURSION
Once you leave Cornieto farm and reached the main road, turn left and get to “Fabro Scalo” where to take the signs to “Chiusi”. Take the road to the valley along the river always “Chiani” in the valley of the same name (ancient reclaimed swamp) and after 20 km you reach Chiusi.

From here, follow the signs for Montepulciano (home of Poliziano – century church of San Biagio by Antonio da Sangallo the Elder) and visit the cellars where the wine is produced “Nobile” of Montepulciano. We traveled about 40 miles and we start following the signs to Pienza (about 20Km). The town overlooking the Val d’Orcia, was born to celebrate Andrea Silvio Piccolomini, who became Pope Pius II.
