A distinctive design and breath-taking views of the Dolomites, the Geisjoch and Gitschberg mountains sets the Alpine Lifestyle Hotel Ambet in Meransen apart from the competition.

The original culinary delights prepared by our chefs are best enjoyed in our panoramic restaurant. In the evening, we invite you to join us in our scenic bar to enjoy the spectacle of the sun setting over the mountains of South Tyrol.

A holiday in the South Tyrolean outdoors cannot but include exploring the magnificent forests and mountains that surround us. Spend relaxing moments on our congenial roof terrace and while enjoying the panoramic sauna you have the feeling of almost touching the sky.

What differentiates our hotel in Meransen is the careful attention to detail, including the careful choice of facilities including ski storage and a dedicated cycle garage.

YOUR HOSTS
The Alpine Lifestyle Hotel Ambet in Meransen is a family-run establishment with a long history and tradition. Following comprehensive renovations we are delighted to reopen in 2017. For the past 50 years the Rieder Family has dedicated itself to running the Hotel Ambet with passion and a spirit of innovation.

Much has changed at the Hotel Ambet since its inception. Today there are many more services with convenient amenities including a Health Spa with swimming pool and Sky-Sauna, a modern panoramic bar with stunning scenic views and, of course, our refined and inventive cuisine. What still sets us apart is our friendly hospitality and personal attention to each of our guests.

We, as your hosts, Julia and Matthias Rieder are at your disposal to help ensure that your stay with us is as perfect as possible. Our philosophy, shared by all members of our staff, is to assure our guests of our personal attention and best service.

While Julia attends to our guests at the reception with all sorts of practical advice and a smile, Matthias, is happy to share his knowledge during our wine tastings and on the subject of whiskey.

THE ARCHITECTURE
The architectural layout of our designer hotel utilises the large windows to make the most of its spectacular natural setting. Following extensive renovations that are due for completion in late spring of 2017, the Hotel Ambet in Meransen is set to take on a more contemporary feel.

Influenced by the shapes and colours of the surrounding landscape, the fully refurbished interiors are set to welcome guests in new and more refined ambiences. This will help to make our Alpine lifestyle hotel the choice holiday destination for those in search of peace and tranquillity in an idyllic setting.

The shapes and hues of the surrounding mountains helped to inspire our refurbished interiors. Innovative design utilising natural materials, clean lines and frameless windows are some of the main features that characterize our refurbished hotel.

Situated on the Meransen mountain plateau in the GitschbergJochtal ski and holiday area, our prime location facilitates relaxation and the appreciation of nature in the garden, on our terrace or on the balcony.

Visit our 500m2 roof terrace, with its stunning views. You can enjoy equally breath-taking views from the sauna on the 3rd floor in our Spa Center where the interiors and exteriors seem to merge, thanks to the large windows.

Our entire establishment, ranging from the individual rooms and suites to the new lounge bar are pervaded by the spectacular mountains panorama and premium lifestyle comfort. For a perfect holiday in Meransen

The combination of northern and southern influences is expressed both in the architectural style of the hotel as well as at the table.

Our local and regional dishes are the fusion of two cultures: the Alpine and Mediterranean, and all dishes are exclusively prepared with fresh, seasonal products from our region.

Our menus include vegetarian options, as well as for guests suffering from food allergies. Local wines and special beers accompany the evening meal and the beverage menu is designed to satisfy even the most demanding palates.

THE ROOFTOP BAR
Our panoramic rooftop bar offers a spectacular view of the Sexten Dolomites and is where guests choose to congregate at the end the day for a drink in good company.

Cross-country skiing is doubly rewarding when sporting fun is matched by the marvels of nature. In Meransen there are four cross-country ski tracks: the Altfasstal, the Lobenweg – Bacherhütte track, the Vals circuit and the Rodenecker Alm ski track.

The 15 km route from the Rodeneck Alm to the Lüsner Alm pastures is considered one of the best in the region with the awe-inspiring Dolomites as a backdrop. Those in search of new winter adventures can go paragliding on the Gitschberg and scaling the ice on the Pfunderer waterfall.

WHAT TO SEE AROUND MERANSEN
The picturesque village of Mühlbach in the heart of the Gitschberg Jochtal holiday area is a must-see. Due to its historical-cultural importance as well as its shops the ancient town of Brixen, seat of the former archdiocese, is also worth visiting.

With its majestic cathedral, narrow medieval streets and small shops, the artists’ town of Klausen is of considerable interest as is the old town center of Bruneck. Perched on a rocky outcrop between the villages of Mühlbach and Schabs, Rodeneck Castle was once a formidable and influential bastion in the area.

This imposing fortress dates back from the first half of the twelfth century and houses a renowned cycle of frescoes, containing the very first graphic depictions of the secular and chivalrous culture in the Germanic lands.

Further we recommend visiting the age-old mountain farms of Pfunderertal Valley where the ancient peasant customs and traditions of yesteryear are preserved and are still practiced as in the old days. We will gladly help you to organize your excursions, according to your preferences.
