When the steam rises from the pool, when the porch provides shade, when the yoga session ends, when the air shimmers, when the music fades away, when the moonlight strokes design and art, when your gaze is lost in the evening glow, then you know it’s not a dream. It‘s Schwarzschmied.

Alone, as a couple, as a trio our bright rooms and suites offer enough space. We believe in the positive effect of good vibes: relax and switch off, move and rest. Pleasure and nature fuse indoors and outdoors.

Amidst green slopes, apple orchards and vine leaves, the Schwarzschmied looks almost like a mirage, half way between an amphitheatre and a concert hall. Did someone say ‘reservation’?

ROOFTOP SUITE
The elegant suite in the main bulding with a three-sided glass front has comfortable spatial seperations and a large south-facing terrace. Our wonderful wooden floors are made of oak and the bathrooms are partly open.

Kids have the opportunity to sleep separately in their own room. All of the rooms were furnished with a performative work of art by artist Hannes Egger. Our rooftop suites were awarded with the German Design Award 2019.

SUITE
The elegant, comfortable 55m² suite is mainly furnished with natural materials and has a beautiful terrace facing east. The wooden floors are made of oak. The rooms are furnished with artwork by the artist Hannes Egger.

GARDEN SUITE
The elegant suite in the garden wing with a three-sided glass front has comfortable spatial separations and a south-facing balcony. The children have the opportunity to sleep separately in their own room. The wooden floors are made of oak, the bathrooms are partly open. The rooms were furnished by artist Hannes Egger with a small library as a work of art.

DOUBLE ROOM
The elegant, comfortable and 36m² double rooms are mainly furnished with natural materials and have east/west balconies depending on the orientation. The wooden floors are made of oak, the bathrooms are open. The rooms are furnished with a performative artwork by the artist Hannes Egger.

DINING
Bread from Nals and the Ulten Valley, organic eggs from the Vinschgau Valley, tea from Bolzano, coffee from Fiè, honey, cheese and yoghurt also from the Ulten Valley.

We know all our farmers, producers and suppliers personally and pay them regular visit. We also buy juices, beers, wines and brandies locally and our wine list features some of South Tyrol’s and Italy’s flagships.

LA FUCINA RESTAURANT
The Forge – la Fucina – is the restaurant where chef Andreas Pircher translates the philosophy of the Schwarzschmied into culinary delights. He uses the freshest products to cook excellent, culinary exciting, but also vegan, vegetarian, lactose- and gluten-free delicacies.

BISTRO LUCE
It looks like a scene from a black and white film. You ask, we serve. Whenever you like. “Back to nature”, our Slow Food principle, also applies to the snack menu available at Bar Luce, a joy for the hungry and the peckish alike.

Or how about this? As the evening sun leisurely retreats and bids farewell, you should toast with something sparkling: Rhubarb Spritz, Waldmeister Spritz, classic Aperol Spritz or an elegant glass of South Tyrolean Arunda sparkling wine from Mölten, near Lana.

FARM TO TABLE
Good morning Franz, hello Philipp, alright Valentin, Axel and Simon. Our suppliers and producers cherish their products, just as our chef cherishes a good choice of ingredients.

When farmers deliver their produce to our kitchen crew, you really grasp what Farm to Table means. When they prepare the meats, boil and fry, twist and turn, garnish ice cream with wild berries, when they put sour and sweet things on the plates, that’s when nature decks the table.

EVENTS
We love culture and are delighted when guests meet locals at concerts, readings and talks with creative people and artists. We organise events ourselves and also rent our premises to third parties for seminars, meetings and courses. We will be happy to advise you on how to organise your event at the Schwarzschmied.

THE WELLNESS
Pause, let go, rest, regenerate, take account of every little movement, consciously feel the passing of time. At Schwarzschmied’s SPA, we take care of your health through our holistic approach to physical and mental well-being.

Organic sauna, Finnish outdoor sauna and steam bath, relaxation rooms with organic tea and lemonade bar, an indoor pool and a year-round heated outdoor pool with vitalised Grander water cater to your slow-down cravings. The massage and beauty treatment options are diverse. We are happy to advise you.

THE SAUNA
Saunas get your circulation going and strengthen your immune system. Besides spending time outdoors, enjoy our lean cuisine and evening relaxation, we do recommend a visit to our saunas. The steam bath, bio-sauna and Finnish outdoor sauna activate your bodily awareness, breathing and flexibility. The energy you draw from us can flow out of you more intensely.

INDOOR & OUTDOOR POOLS 
We attach great importance to natural elements at the Schwarzschmied. Our twenty-metre outdoor swimming pool holds centre stage: it is heated all year round, it is filled with Grander water, it is peppered up by a large sunbathing area with a pergola and a view of the vineyards. Goes without saying, there is a ten-metre indoor pool too.

At Schwarzschmied, we truly believe in the intensive effect of Susanne Kaufmann’s natural cosmetics for they maintain your skin healthy by increasing its protective functions and providing lasting care.

TREATMENTS
Mind and body intertwine. Feel your holiday on your skin too. The care of beauty and well-being with natural cosmetics has a vouched tradition at the Schwarzschmied.

Facial and body treatments, packs and peelings with smooth creams and fragrant lotions cleanse and tone your skin. Massages, cold and hot baths, therapies and bodywork support your muscles and musculoskeletal system.

YOGA
At Schwarzschmied we take you on a journey to yourself. Make room for your inner balance. Quiet your jim-jams and dive deep into pure calm. Regular yoga practice is also considered one of the essential elements for bringing body and soul into harmony at the Schwarzschmied.

Therefore, two daily classes taught by yoga teacher Stefanie Dariz and alternating teachers from various yoga disciplines are integral to the hotel’s programme. Retreats with different focuses are also regularly planned. And for moments in between, those who want to practise yoga on their own can make use of the yoga mat in the room.

COMING HOME
Yoga and awareness work with Steffi Dariz and Mathilde Lintner. Your job is not to search for love, but only to search and find all the obstacles in you that you have built up against it. In this sense, opening the heart means opening oneself to the world of emotions, to let oneself be touched by the wonder of life and being alive.

YOGA & TEA
Tea ceremony with Ganesh Neumair. It is an old way to cultivate presence and “awake consciousness. ” After a quiet and attentive yoga session with Stefanie Dariz, we drink steaming tea made in a traditional craftsmanship in silence, with alert senses and without expectation. Afterwards, there may be an opportunity for discussion, reflection or questions.

BREATH & CACAO
Join us on an inner journey. Because the guidance you desire is already within you. Clara holds a safe space for you in which you can surrender to your inner processes and allow your own personal relationship to yourself and your life force to slowly unfold.

At the Schwarzschmied you will find a fitness room with the latest equipment and the opportunity to work holistically with a focus on strength, endurance and mobility.

Above all, we would like to show you the way into nature through hikes and mountain bike tours: find your dimension, track down elemental forces, discover landscapes and the wild. Walking leads to contemplation and rest.

INNER GARDENS
Step into a protected space. You are invited to come to peace and to linger a little. Allow yourself to fall out of time for an afternoon, to let your gaze wander from the outside to the inside.

And suddenly you are completely with yourself and your inner garden can blossom in its full splendour. Accompanied by mindful rituals with different teachers who care about you being in touch with your own nature. Go on this journey of inner discovery.

SURROUNDINGS
The Schwarzschmied is a wonderful retreat and a beautiful starting point to discover paths and roads, hikes and drives to the Ulten Valley, the Gampen Pass, the Vigiljoch, Merano, all along the wine route of the Adige towards Bolzano. Our land tells stories of cultural landscapes, gorges, mountains and people.

LANA
How about this: stroll along the Waalweg into the centre in the morning, at noon, in the evening and surrender to the rhythm of the town during market days, in boutiques, in shops and in inns.

Lana is the village of churches, chapels, monasteries, castles and fortresses. Around 50 of them adorn Lana and the surrounding area: romanesque as much as romantic.

ULTENTAL
Stilfserjoch National Park, primeval larches, mountain lakes, Ultner Höfeweg, Schwemmalm or Eschenlohe Castle – hike, ski, enjoy nature, marvel in and at this unspoilt valley.

MERANO
This lady of a town is chic and a treasure chest of a sophisticated past and a varied present: shopping, strolling, art breeze and the smell of coffee. Castle Tyrol towers above it all.

BOLZANO
The city is crossed by many rivers and bridges. It holds to itself whilst being in constant dialogue with its guests: Museion and Ötzi, nature and design, the urban and the idyllic.

HIKING & CYCLING
On foot or by bike, you can explore impressive peaks and remote alpine pastures in Lana and the surrounding area on easy and challenging paths and trails – out and about in nature.

SKIING, SNOWSHOEING AND CO.
Romantically across meadows and through forests on the Vigiljoch, quickly across the slopes of Schwemmalm and Meran 2000, comfortably with toboggan and ice skates: when it glitters it also shines.

There are four golf courses near the Schwarzschmied: the Golf Club Lana is only a 5 minutes drive, the Golf Club Eppan is 20 mins away, the Golf Club Passeier Meran 30 mins, the Golf Club Dolomiti in Sarnonico in the Nonstal 45 mins.
