Baumanière, a magical name that conjures up good taste and beauty. In the heart of the most beautiful countryside you can imagine, halfway between the lands of Cézanne and Van Gogh, this is the home of Romanesque monastries, alleys lined with cypress trees and aromatic little valleys.
About 500 meters away, on the other side of the olive grove, La Guigou is a pretty country house with a charming little garden and a beautiful view of the village. A little further, 900 meters away, is the discreet and imposing Le Manoir. Guests can relax by the pool and in the shade of its garden arbor, or take a gentle stroll through the French-style gardens.

Whether they are housed in l’Oustau, la Guigou, le Manoir, Flora or Carita no two rooms are alike. Renovated by Geneviève Charial, either in a modern and contemporary style, with mosaics, marble and wax-finished paint or with authenticity, solid wood furniture and typical Provencal bathrooms with large washbasins.
The furniture of the rooms were found in Isle sur la Sorgue or chosen by prestigious designers, the paintings on the walls are from the private collection of Jean-André Charial’s grandfather and all creates a unique atmosphere in each room.

A luxurious arrangement and amazing views, very detailed decoration, discover the meaning of Baumanière elegancy. The new design of this bedroom was realized by the designers Philippine Lemaire & Clémence Boyer and supervised by Geneviève Charial.
The idea of Philippine Lemaire was a continuity between outside and inside, reason why she chose vegetal and bronze colours and natural materials for furniture and decoration.
Ingo Maurer lamps, Paula Nacone, Castellani and Smith, Marc Neuhoff creations and ancient furniture from Isle sur Sorgue. The 2 balconies of the living room offer panoramic views on the Le Manoir gardens.
Suite
The size of the living room offer the possibility to welcome until 4 people (2 adults and 2 children under 12 years). Some suites have a second bathroom. At Baumanière les Baux-de-Provence, each room is unique. Among the most beautiful rooms in the field, very spacious, on the ground floor or upstairs, our suites offer between tradition and modernity.

At the helm of the Domaine de Baumanière, Jean-André Charial continues to contribute to the international renown of l’Oustau de Baumanière, that Michelin starred restaurant in Provence of which he is the worthy heir to his visionary and exacting grandfather, Raymond Thuilier.
The family enterprise obtained its first star from the Michelin Guide in 1949, its 2nd in 1952, then its 3rd star in 1954. The kitchen at this gourmet restaurant in Provence is today in the hands of the Chef Glenn Viel. This gastronomic restaurant in Provence is accompanied by one of the most beautiful cellars in France with 60,000 references and bottles of 150 years old.

WINE CELLAR & WINE TASTING
Discover one of the most beautiful private wine cellar in France and enjoy an exceptional wine tasting during your stay in Baumanière Les Baux-de-Provence. This exceptional collection of wine began more than 75 years ago, when the Oustau de Baumanière opened in 1945.
It contains a treasure trove of 50,000 bottles from all regions of France that are part of our heritage: Burgundy, Côtes de Provence, Côtes du Rhône, Alsace, Bordeaux, Loire. The opportunity to taste big names such as Pétrus, Château Lafite Rothschild, Château Margaux, Meursault, Gewurztraminer, Chassagne Montrachet, Nuits Saint-Georges.
Among the Burgundies are Henri Jayer’s renowned wines and some fine vintages from Jean-François Coche-Dury and Domaine Romanée Conti. Great Rhône wines include Domaine Chave, Château Rayas, Château de Beaucastel, Clos des Papes Château Grillet and many others.
The must of the Languedoc region is represented by La Grange des Pères and there is no shortage of such great Bordeaux as Pétrus, Lafleur, d’Yquem, Haut-Brion and Lafite (with a selection of vintages going back to 1870).
There is also a collection of rare Champagnes such as Krug’s Clos du Mesnil and d’Ambonnay, Dom Perignon Oenothèque, Bollinger Vieilles Vignes Françaises, to mention but a few, waiting to be sipped on our lovely terrace in summer or in the vaulted dining room any time of the year.
THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY
A treasure trove of delicacies to discover at the Oustau de Baumanière shop in Les Baux-de-Provence! This 20 m2 cocoon of sweets is dedicated to exceptional chocolates and confectionery.
Brandon Dehan, the executive pastry chef of the Oustau de Baumanière, working alongside the head chef Glenn Viel – supported by the owners Jean-André and Geneviève Charial, has taken up the challenge of offering his vision of chocolate through his creations where praline is his signature.
In particular, he has imagined surprising sweets, “Cicadas”, gourmet sweets made with the aromatic plants of the Alpilles: basil, thyme, wild fennel, rosemary, lavender, savory.
In November 2022, after 5 months of opening, the Baumanière chocolate factory was rewarded by the Club des Croqueurs de Chocolat with an Award of Excellence and a Gold Tablet. We are also very proud to be part of the “Coup de Coeur Français”. The Fou de Pâtisserie trophy for the chocolate creation category was awarded to them.
Gourmet bars and pure origin bars (Cuba, Sao Tomé, Ecuador, Vietnam…), boxes of sweets or confectionery according to the seasons, will delight the taste buds of amateurs as well as the finest connoisseurs.
THE SPA
A space of relaxation surrounded by a pure and wild atmosphere as a reflection a little rough of the Val d’Enfer. Geneviève and Jean-André Charial have created a delicate spa where you can relax and admire nature. It is an intimate place of 500 m2, in a wooden and airy design with large white curtains.

THE WINE ROUTE
Favoured by the climate and the work of the people who cultivate this territory for over a thousand years, the land produces renowned wines of great quality. Here are some of our suggested itineraries to help you meet the wine-makers at the most important vineyards of the region and discover their work and their vintages.
Forging the landscape of the Alpilles, between scrub land and olive groves, the vineyards spread out in this untamed and sometimes hostile environment. On this both pebbly and sandy, clay-limestone earth, the climate, the environment and the labour of the wine-growers give birth to robust and full-bodied red wines and well-structured rosés with fruity or floral hints.
This AOC comprises some fifteen wine estates, mostly organically farmed, that spread out between valleys and rocky hills and of which you will find a selection here. With this itinerary, we propose a circuit that takes you through the rocky ledges along the beautiful route leading to the hamlet of Destet and offering you unique panoramas.
