A slice of paradise in the midst of the Luberon garrigue. A place imbued with history that’s timeless yet very current and constantly evolving. Le Petit Palais d’Aglaé is so much more than a charming hotel with personality; it’s a magical place where you can recharge your batteries and soak up the warmth and beauty.

Nestled in Provence deep in the Monts du Vaucluse and Luberon Nature Park in thebreathtaking village of Gordes, a hilltop village listed as one of the most beautiful villages in France, between the Haute-Provence Alps and Vaucluse, Le Petit Palais d’Aglaé is something special.

A stay here will blow you away with the unspoilt setting, sense of refinement and goodwill dear to the owner and an authentic honest lifestyle. Named after Aglaea, one of the Three Graces depicted by Sandro Botticelli. A symbol of radiant beauty and splendour. Her influence goes into every last detail here so it’s a real pleasure for us to share it with you.

The country house was built in a prime location on the site of a sheepfold. The stunning pale Gordes stones, panoramic views of the Calavon Valley, Monts de Vaucluse and Luberon mountains, 2ha grounds home to Mediterranean species unfurling from terrace to terrace, the pool with fabulous views, the bountiful vegetable garden and orchard make Le Palais d’Aglaé the perfect place to switch off and get back to nature.

Everything at Le Petit Palais d’Aglaé has been designed for you to bask in the beauty of the location and revive your spirit. All you have to do is enjoy yourself, let go and soak up the good vibes here. The welcoming and generous team at Le Petit Palais d’Aglaé are here to pamper you yet respect your personal space.

The sophisticated yet cosy interior design is inspired by a very personal style drawn from the history of Provence and the Italian Renaissance. The fabulous combination brings together premium materials and a vibrant colour palette with bold splashes of coral, madder red and violet in the midst of feathers, scrolls, flowers and cherubs.

Decorative patterns bounce off each other in sculpted wood mirrors. An ode to refinement to celebrate Aglaea, the goddess of beauty, finery and splendour.

FAMILY ROOM
Every room is an ode to beauty in tribute to Aglaea. Sculpted cerused wood furniture and glossy textiles bring to mind opulent Italian Renaissance mansions and contrast with the minimalist walls true to the Provençal lifestyle.

DELUXE TERRACE ROOM
20m² air-conditioned room with private 16m² terrace, a double bed or twin beds and garden views. Flat-screen satellite TV, coffee machine and safe. The ensuite bathroom has a shower or bath, toilet, bathrobes, organic toiletries and a hairdryer. Ironing equipment, heating, wake-up calls. Free Wi-Fi.

RESTAURANT LA CUISINE D’AGLAE
Every dish is bursting with the flavours and soul of our beautiful Luberon land. The taste of good food and ultra-fresh produce from our garden and local producers will make your taste buds sing. Dishes cooked with love and updated on a daily basis.

Dishes inspired by Mother Nature. Time stands still between heaven and earth. Make mouth-watering and magical memories before the vast Provençal landscape that unfurls beneath you and will move you as much as it moves us.

LE PETIT PALAIS D’AGLAE BAR
Like us, it loves life and changes with the seasons. When the crickets chirp and the summer heat sets in, what could be better than cooling off by the pool or in one of the relaxing little nooks set apart near the rose garden. When autumn and winter arrive, it’s time to cosy up by the fire with an organic tea or lovely glass of Luberon wine.

VEGETABLE GARDEN
Sarah, Le Petit Palais d’Aglaé’s owner, loves sharing her passion for seasonal produce and designed her very own vegetable garden and organic orchard where you can learn everything there is to know about the food growing here.

A slice of paradise where you can sample fruit and vegetables at their freshest and most flavourful. They’re picked in the morning and delivered straight to the kitchen where they’re prepared and served. The produce showcases Provence and Mathias Florent’s talent as a gardener.

The welcoming and generous “flower of abundance” embraces the shape of an eight-petalled flower. Like a mandala, its “holy” design radiates good vibes.

Heirloom vegetables, herbs, wild plants and edible flowers are lovingly grown here in line with nature and the lunar calendar. Being bold and creative come naturally to Sarah, the owner of Le Petit Palais d’Aglaé, the chef and gardener as the vegetable garden is an incredible playing field for concocting exciting cocktails and delicious fresh dishes every season.

Step in, soak up the colours and aromas and connect with Mother Nature. We want you to make the same connection so please feel free to explore it. A source of wonder.

THE ORCHARD
Our orchard’s apricot, cherry, pear, apple, fig, blackcurrant and strawberry plants bring to mind the horn of plenty with unforgettable taste sensations for you to experience through the seasons.

OLIVE TREES
They have been Provence’s signature since Antiquity and take pride of place at Le Petit Palais d’Aglaé. We love and care for them. We’re proud to make our own olive oil. Our hand-picked olives are pressed using a stone mill in keeping with tradition by the Moulin du Clos des Jeannons.

The simple pleasures of walking, observing in silence, basking in the heat and light, stopping to stroke the edge of a flower, closing your eyes to listen to the crickets chirp and breathing in the aromas of thyme, rosemary, savory, lavender and everlastings. A multi-sensory walk for some me-time and to awaken your senses.

Everything we do goes into an eco-friendly drive that we want to be as consistent as possible. Our staff are given full training and we’re pleased to share our eco-friendly beliefs with you.

NEARBY ATTRACTIONS
The history and beauty of Gordes has made it a tourist hotspot in the heart of the Luberon and Alpilles in Provence. It’s an architectural gem, a picture-perfect Provençal hilltop village with its cobbled lanes and stone houses that spiral up to the château overlooking the Luberon’s valley and mountains. Countless artists have called it home: Marc Chagall, André Lhote, Victor Vasarely and Pol Mara who has a museum devoted to him.

You can visit Palais Saint-Firmin’s semi-troglodyte cellars and grounds, the Bories village, small drystone huts which sheltered shepherds, the Cistercian 12th century Sénanque Abbey deep in the Sénancole Valley surrounded by fabulous and heady lavender fields. Simply magical.

Gordes is surrounded by other Provençal villages and outstanding sites: L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue and its antique shops, Roussillon and the Ochre Trail, Ménerbes, its wine and truffles, Fontaine de Vaucluse and its spring bursting from the bottom of a 230m high cliff… Great ideas for trips a stone’s throw from our location to make memories in the Luberon.
