THE HISTORY
This historic 1860 property was falling into disrepair when Westchester residents Richard Gere and Russell Hernandez joined together to rescue it and turn it into a luxury inn and destination property. The town of Bedford was orginally founded in 1680 after it was purchased from the Katonah indians.
During the Revolutionary War the town was mostly burned to the ground by 400 British troops, although the orginal layout is intact. Bedford still retains its unique New England character and charm.

Bedford Post is home to an eight-room luxury inn. Guests may choose from five different room layouts—most with a working fireplace to enhance the cozy and romantic feel. All of our rooms are prepared with Frette linens and towels, feature bathroom fixtures by Waterworks, and some rooms have a private terrace which overlooks the wooded property.

With chaise lounges for sunning, or reading your favorite book, and tables to enjoy your morning coffee or snack, and our outdoor fireplace to sit by the fire, the patio is a comfortable place to while away and decompress. We have a variety of games and activities too, as well as bikes for you to use during your stay.

THE BEDFORD HISTORICAL SOCIETY
The unique character of Bedford Village is largely a result of our preservation efforts since our founding in 1916. The Society maintains 10 historic properties around the Village Green, operates museums at the 1787 Court House and 1829 School House, and offers a wide variety of educational programs and events for students of all ages.
