Here at the Hotel Glacier in Grindelwald, the Bernese Alps feel close enough to reach out and touch. Our 4-star boutique hotel keeps things personal, with just 28 rooms and suites striking the perfect balance between home-style comfort and one-of-a-kind alpine design.

Since reopening in spring 2018, following a complete revamp, we’ve welcomed guests from all over the world to this astoundingly beautiful corner of the Jungfrau Region. Looking back on 150 years of history, our name alludes to the Lower Grindelwald Glacier that once reached all the way to the valley.

Now the hotel shines once again with a fresh-faced sustainable design that reveals a love of the ice and mountains found right on our doorstep. One glimpse of Eiger North Face through your window and you’ll be itching to head outdoors and hit the heights.

Hotel Glacier combines over 150 years of Swiss heritage, the history of the lower glacier of Grindelwald and contemporary sustainable designs.

Indulge in the newly remodeled comfort of our boutique hotel here in Grindelwald, and start your outdoor adventure with stunning views of the Eiger North Face just outside your window.

Our boutique hotel maintains a rare balance between the comfortable feel of a home and the services of a 4-star hotel. We are a home away from home with an unmistakable mountain ambience and the hospitality of a remarkably committed team.

Eat & Drink with us.
Soul food with a pinch of imagination and local sourcing

Inspired by the love for exquisite ingredients. We created a menu with produce grown in our own gardens or sourced as locally as possible. Almost all our dishes start with homemade base-products and are adapted to the seasons. Several dishes include preparation steps like fermentation, smoking or dry-ageing.

These processes take often more than a month and only then the kitchen team can start their magic. Our chef Robert Steuri takes pride in regional, seasonal sourcing, and our creative menu. The restaurant at Hotel Glacier can cater to vegetarian, gluten-free and lactose-free requirements.

DINING ENCHANTMENTS
For the love of food.
Making the most of what is seasonal and region, and putting imaginative spins on the finest ingredients, our menu is inspired by our love of travel.

Head chef Robert Steuri and his team work their culinary magic in the kitchen, creating unique taste sensations in ingredient-driven dishes big on flavour and beautifully presented. Trust us, you won’t be disappointed.

Glacier Restaurant is open to guests and non-guests. Ice-inspired lights illuminate the chic, blue-toned interior, with huge windows opening up the view of Eiger North Face. On fine days, our terrace offers ringside views of the mountains.

BAR & LOUNGE
Cheers! Prost! Santé!
We offer an excerpt from our menu, with regionally sourced products, in an informal and relaxed atmosphere that is warm and welcoming. Our satisfying dishes are perfect for anyone who wants to squeeze in a quick lunch.

Take time to explore our bar & lounge menu, which invites you to rediscover classic cocktails, top-notch craft gins and whiskies or well-known champagnes.
