Architecture, Design and Nature.
The old. Reinterpreted. The tried and true. Integrated. Orchestrated to perfection. Modern architecture meets clean lines. Wood meets glass. Meets leather. Meets stone.

In a new setting. Old beams as tables, as chairs or as a bar. Ceiling-high windows. As a gateway to gigantic scenery. Ice sculptures. Enthroned high above the valley. As a reminiscence of mining days. Materials and lines. In carpets and paintings.

Created by an artist’s hand. And dedicated to thermal waters. The golden pendulum. That slows down the pace of time and life, regardless of the lines it inscribes. And nature. As the grand stage for it all.

A sense of living tradition
Family. An important concept. For our house. For our hotel. From a sense of tradition. Old values. In fast-paced times. As long as anyone can remember, GOLDBERG people have attached immense importance to trust, to cohesion.

And to respect. And so, people gather here from around the world. In order to live out their passion at DAS.GOLDBERG. The great passion, of being there for others.

Retrospective. And perspective. Of golden times.
The former building, the Pyrkerhöhe, was first chronicled back in 1905, as a farm with its own country inn. A popular spot, especially for summer holidaymakers and visitors “taking the cure”. Here, high above Gastein Valley.

Due to the premature death of the then owner, Katharina and Peter Seer were able to purchase the property in 1981. Having grown up in neighboring Grossarl Valley in very impoverished circumstances, they saw their future in this business. Which they went ahead and renovated, adding 24 rooms.

In 1997, son Georg and his wife, Vera, took over. Their goal was to rebuild the hotel from the ground up. After 10 years of negotiations, the time had come.

With ten additional hectares of land made available by the village to bring the project to fruition. On 1 September 2012, the old building was demolished, and on 19 July 2013, the DAS.GOLDBERG was opened.

Perspectives. On golden times.
Through our nature & design hotel DAS.GOLDBERG, we want to pull the threads of history together. And celebrate countless stories. Of the golden age of Gastein Valley. The story of the Seer family. And the stories of our guests.

Outdoor Whirlpool
Weightless beneath open skies The whirlpool is located in our sauna garden. Heated to a soothingly warm 35 degrees Celsius.

Kneipp Stream
When you “tread water”, as the process is generally referred to, with every step you take you pull your leg completely out of the water, with the foot itself pointing down a little bit. Then you use both of your hands to brush the water off your legs.

By performing various forms of foot exercise or simply walking, you create a very pleasant sensation. It stimulates the cardiovascular system, promotes blood flow, strengthens the veins, improves metabolism, makes the body more resilient and stabilizes the vegetative systems.

We recommend the Kneipp stream to raise your spirits as well as to combat varicose veins, uncomfortably overheated legs and even migraines.

As you “tread water”, we recommend 10 to 20 seconds to start out, until you feel a slight “pain sensation”. As you get used to the process, that same discomfort won’t set in for 30 or even as much as 60 seconds.

Complete wellbeing With healing benefits.

During your ride, you will be able to take in marvelous views of the historic town center, the Waterfall Path and Grabenbäcker Trail including a yoga platform, as well as the fascinating alpine world of the Hohe Tauern range.

The wobbly walkway is always a delightful challenge, for children and children at heart. If you are in the mood for something even more exhilarating, the outdoor adventures are many and varied.

Graukogel
Aside from its storied past as a venue for World Championship skiing, the Graukogel is known above all for its wealth of pine trees. In fact, many of those trees are as much as 300 years old. The harmonising and relaxing effects of pine are also well known.

Schlossalm – right next to DAS.GOLDBERG
On this family mountain, a number of hiking tours as well as mystical creatures in the rock are all waiting to be discovered. If you love adventure, you should definitely explore one of the 6 via ferrata climbs, or perhaps conquer the mountain with the help of mountain go-carts or monster scooters.

The expanded playground on the Schlossalm, with an adjacent slackline park, offers many opportunities for the kids to keep physically active and work off even more of their youthful energy.

Stubnerkogel
The Stubnerkogel, probably best known as a ski mountain, has also become a popular attraction for visitors in search of marvellous views.

The 140-metre-long footbridge and the Glocknerblick viewing platform are two attractions that promise spectacular scenery. The “Rock Path”, with striking lookout points of its own, adds the finishing touches to your mountain experience.

The Hohe Tauern
The rooftop of Austria
At the end of Gastein Valley. The National.Park. A place of immense primal power. Wild, ancient landscapes. And a deeply rooted culture of hill farming. All of these aspects shape the Hohe Tauern. The rooftop of Austria.

Spanning 1,856 km², the National Park is by far the biggest nature sanctuary in the entire Alpine region. It encompasses imposing primordial landscapes including glaciers, cliffs and alpine meadows. Though also areas of high pastures, that have been painstakingly tended for centuries.

Austria’s highest mountain, the Grossglockner at 3,798 m above sea level, towers skywards along with more than 300 other peaks above 3,000 meters.

And almost 180 km2 of the National Park – virtually 10 % of its area – are covered by glacial ice to this very day. 279 idyllic mountain streams, arteries of life, flow from the high mountains all the way to the valley below.

And a look through the “Tauern Window” provides a glimpse into countless millions of years of the Earth’s history. Especially in summer or autumn: Time: For a holiday in Austria.

Pain-free, naturally.
Through radon therapy. Unique worldwide.
The Gastein Healing Gallery is a health centre for radon therapy. This form of treatment is based on therapy sessions spent in a 2.5 km-long gallery with naturally elevated radon levels.

The combination of high humidity, warmth and radon deep within the Radhausberg in Bad Gastein makes the Gastein Healing Gallery a form of therapy unlike anything else on Earth.

The scientifically proven benefits of radon therapy in this Healing Gallery in Austria include long-lasting pain relief, reduced need for medications for as long as one year, and stabilisation of the immune system.

The Gastein Healing Gallery helps in the treatment of rheumatic-inflammatory complaints of the musculoskeletal system, the respiratory passages and the skin.
From a medical perspective, a treatment period of 2-4 weeks is recommended, with 3-4 sessions in the Healing Gallery itself every week.
