Our 105m² Suite Colibri is decorated with an ultimate refinement. Mural patterns are reproduced on the curtains and in the ceramic tile baths. Your Suite Colibri has a large entry way, living room, bedroom, double dressing, magnificent vaulted bath and private terrace. The living room can accommodate a third bed.

Enjoy two comfortable armchairs and the two fireplaces to relax in front of a fire after a day spent outdoors! Decorated in harmony with the room, the bath comes with a double sink, bathtub-Jacuzzi and separate shower. The toilets and bidet are independent.

Suites
Our two 78m² Suites are decorated with refinement and originality. Mural patterns are reproduced on the curtains and in the ceramic tile baths. Your Suite has a living room, bedroom, bath and private terrace.

At your request, your Suite can be prepared with a King size bed or twin beds. The living room can accommodate a third bed. Enjoy two comfortable armchairs and the two fireplaces to relax in front of a fire after a day spent outdoors!

Decorated in harmony with the room, the bath comes with a double sink, bathtub and separate shower. The toilets and bidet are independent.

La Table du Colibri
Our restaurant offers you a unique culinary experience, featuring the produce cultivated on our farm. Beef, milk, eggs, fruit, vegetables and aromatic herbs are of an absolute freshness and purity.

The dried meats and chesses from the Estancia Don André, as well as the bread and dairy products are transformed on site. Ongamira Caves
Less than an hour drive from the Estancia El Colibri, a great excursion can be done on the steep roads to arrive at Ongamira.

Dating back 130 million years, this valley is surrounded by reddish mountains, which were sculpted by the wind and rain. You can stroll and admire these natural sculptures and explores the caves dug into the rocks.

City of Córdoba
Capital of the province of the same name, Córdoba is the second largest city in the country, with 1.2 million residents. Known for its many universities, “La Docta” is an important cultural center of Argentina. There are several historic monuments linked to the colonial past, in particular the Catholic churches.

The Córdoba Mountains
The Sierras de Córdoba is a mountain chain that gave birth to a touristic region. In the northwest of the Córdoba province and just until the province of San Luis, this mountain range is dominated by the Champaquí at 2884m above sea level.

The plains (pampas) and salt marshes (salinas) are formed between the mountains. Several hikes can be organised n these perfectly preserved vast lands.

For a half-day excursion, you can venture to the small town of Cumbre, known for its English colonial style architecture. The twisting road winding through the Punilla valley will reveal surprising landscapes.

Festival de Doma
For more than 50 years, the folklore festival of Doma has been held in the city of Jesús María during the first two weeks of January. Coming from Uruguay, Brazil, Chile and of course Argentina, the best gauchos compete in rodeo competitions !

This major festival is also a great occasion to more widely discover the gaucho culture, whether it be popular music or traditional cuisine. For the second time the Gauchos of El Colibri will be honored on the evening of presentations of our horses in “Tropillas Entabladas”.

Jesuit Churches – UNESCO World Heritage Site
Just seven kilometers from the Estancia El Colibri, the Santa Catalina Jesuit mission was founded in 1622. It is known across the country for its colonial baroque church, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Following the expulsion of the Jesuit order, Don Francisco Antonio Diaz acquired the estancia, which still belongs to his descendants.

On the square of Cordoba city there is the Jesuit Museum where you can find some Jesuit tapestries and relics from long-lost local Indian religions. It is said that Cordoba is the best place to start from in order to know more about Jesuit history.

Since 2000, the city has boasted Unesco world heritage status, thanks to its Jesuit block, which includes a stone church, priests’ residences and one of the oldest universities in South America (1613).

The Jesuits came up with the concept of the working Estancia. There are a few still standing up. One of them is Estancia Caroya (14 kms from the Estancia), Alta Gracia (115 kms from the Estancia) where the museum of Che Guevara also stands and Santa Catalina (7 km from the Estancia).

Golf in the mountains of Córdoba

The province of Córdoba is known worldwide as an ideal destination for practicing Golf, since its geography means that the players are in the best conditions.

The Cordovan golf courses have been designed and built respecting the natural environment so that lovers of this sport can enjoy the game, mountain holes and landscapes.

Golf is a sport with a long history in Argentina, in fact in 1923 the first golf course was founded, which exists today with the name of Alta Gracia Golf Club. Some of the most renowned Cordovan players are Eduardo “El Gato” Romero and Ángel “Pato” Cabrera.

CÓRDOBA THE CAPITAL OF GOLF ARGENTINA

Turtledove hunting

Get ready for a day of unique hunting ! From 8am, you will set off across the fields with your assistant, who will look after the ammunition. All year round, the Córdoba region is considered by specialists as the best region in the world for turtledove hunting, with an estimated population of 32 million birds!

The hunting party is treated to a gaucho lunch before taking a nap in a hammock. The hunt continues just until dusk. For dinner, your hunt can be prepared by our La Table du Colibri chef.

Family Story

Shaped by a solid work ethic, the story of the Fenestraz family proves that mountains can literally be moved … The Raymonde and André Fenestraz success story has been written with French flare, and today their son Raoul continues the family tradition.

OUR STORY BEGINS WITH RAYMONDE

A countryside girl who pushed for the development of winter sports in the Tarentaise Valley.

Her intuition led her to leave the Savoy region for Great Britain to learn English while working as an au pair and then as a maid. In the end, she wound up running the family hotel before returning home. There, she developed her negotiating skills in a small real estate agency in Courchevel, which she went on to buy in 1966.

THE STORY CONTINUES WITH RAYMONDE AND ANDRÉ

Then, Raymonde met her husband André, a traveling coffee merchant who went on to work in building construction.

Allying their talents, the Fenestraz were pioneers in the construction of luxury chalets and homes, among which were the Hameau de Bellecôte Chalets, the Chalet de Pierres and the Jardin Alpin Residence. These creations give Courchevel 1850 ski resort’ the allure and the famous reputation that they still enjoy to this day.

At the end of the 70’, the young couple built the AlpenRuitor hotel and residence which became the center of the peatonal village of Méribel Mottaret and most of all the heart of the 3 Valleys, a favorite among skiers worldwide.

The development of the family business continued with the Hôtel de la Loze, also nicely placed opposite of the Croisette and the slopes of Courchevel 1850. Restored in an Alpine style, the establishment also features two elegant “Appartements d’Exception”.

During the 1992 Albertville Winter Olympic Games, Raymonde and André didn’t let the chance to realize their dream slip by.

At Courchevel, they transformed the outdated Airelles hotel into a magnificent luxury hotel, often referred to as the “Palais de Sissi”. Considered to be one of the finest hotels in the world, the address carries on the soul of the owners, who held on to it just until 2007.

During this time, Raymonde and André’s only son Raoul also decided to live out his dream. With his wife, Stéphanie and their three children, they moved to Argentina.

RAOUL AND STÉPHANIE’S ARGENTINIAN DREAM

30 years after the first construction in the Savoy region, it was Stéphanie and Raoul’s turn to become pioneers! Living near Cordoba, they built a sumptuous residence, whose architecture was inspired by the Argentinean estancias of the early 20th century.

Opened in 2005 and member of Relais & Châteaux association, Estancia El Colibri offers guests the opportunity to discover Argentina’s rural lifestyle, horse ranching, and polo.

Just a few kilometers away, Don André – as a tribute to Raoul’s father, who passed away in 2011 – is a 700 hectares property specializing in ranching Aberdeen Angus cattle for producing some of the best beef in the world.

They are now developing a “grass feed” type of beef with a holistic concept that takes care of animal welfare as well as the future of the environment. The Argentinean dream of the Fenestraz family can also be found near Salta, in the northern region of Argentina, the famous “NOA”.

Acquired in 2007 from the Oscar winner Robert Duvall, House of Jasmines is also part of the Relais & Châteaux association and it has been elected by the international press as one of the most romantic estancias in the World.

The beautiful Argentina is not the only South American country where the Fenestraz family has landed. In fact, after experiencing the hippie-chic atmosphere of the fisherman’s village of Trancoso, in the Salvador de Bahia province in Brazil, in 2012 Raoul and Stéphanie decided to acquire and renovate the magnificent villa “Casa Angatú”.

THE LAUNCH OF THE MAISON FENESTRAZ BRAND

In 2016, 50 years after the purchase of the first real estate agency by Raymonde, the group of businesses were collected under the brand name Maison Fenestraz. Whether in the Alps or in South America, these Maisons with authentic styles share the same refinement and discreet luxury.

They were all born out of a dream and since the family motto says that “the best thing one man can do for another is to share his dream”, experiencing the hospitality of Maison Fenestraz means sharing this dream.

SUMPTUOUS APARTMENTS IN ANNECY

The brand “Appartements d’Exception” was dedicated to apartments located in Courchevel 1850. In 2018 they have developed the offer with a new selection of deluxe apartments for seasonal rental in Annecy.

One is located in the former “Hôtel de Sales” in the heart of the old city, this 3 ensuite-bedrooms’ apartment is Madame Fenestraz’s “masterpiece”. This magnificent museum-style apartment has been decorated by the artists who did the famous Palace of Courchevel 1850, Les Airelles.

The other is completely different from what we are used to by the Fenestraz Family: a very modern and contemporary apartment with stunning views over the lake. From now on, you can discover those unique properties located in “the little Venice of the Alps”.

THE HOTEL DE LA LOZE FULLY REFURBISHED

In 2019, after 3 years of intense renovations, the Hotel de La Loze reopens its doors with new rooms, new entrance, new living room, new corridors… a new hotel in an even more elegant and refined alpine style or should we say “Fenestraz Alpine Style”.

The renovation and decoration works were brought together by Stéphanie Fenestraz and the architect Bernard Burlot of the agency Carré Concept in Nîmes – France.

THE ITALIAN DREAM

After consolidating the offer of private houses and villas in France, Argentina and Brazil, the pioneering spirit of Raoul and Stéphanie Fenestraz didn’t fade. On the contrary, they followed their instincts and landed in the beautiful region of Apulia, in southern Italy, where they started a new life and family project.

In 2020, Raoul and Stéphanie travelled the length and breadth of southern Italy, looking for a beautiful and vivid place with warm and welcoming people and with an interesting artistic and cultural ferment.

This is how they ended up in the Salento region, a land with everything they were looking for: a friendly and vibrant environment, amazing climate and gastronomy, ground to be cultivated with fruit trees, olive groves and vineyards and – cherry on top – incredible Mediterranean coast lines with both sand beaches that make you think of the Caribbean as well as beautiful cliffs and caverns.

Raoul and Stéphanie visited for the first time Torre Ruggeri during the olive harvest of 2019 and they simply fell in love with it. They understood they were visiting what could become their new Italian Maison.

Surrounded by 18 hectares of olive trees and agricultural land in a Mediterranean environment, the property is classified as a historical monument.
