Welcome to Hotel Jackson, located in the heart of Jackson Hole, and just steps away from shops, art galleries, restaurants, and the iconic elk antler arches of Town Square.

Owned and run by a family that has lived in the valley for more than four decades, Hotel Jackson’s inspired interiors feature 55 guest rooms and suites and reflect a contemporary retelling of the traditional West.

The goal of Hotel Jackson is to celebrate and share the area’s unique Western heritage while providing guests with every modern luxury and unrivaled customer service.

And now, more than ever, we know how important it is to keep the health and wellbeing of our guests at the forefront of that service. Hotel Jackson: where nature, your soul, and luxury connect.

Learn a Little More About our History & Location

Just one block from Jackson’s iconic Town Square, with its iconic arches of elk antlers, Hotel Jackson is a luxury, LEED-built, boutique hotel in downtown Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

Family founded, designed and operated, Hotel Jackson is steeped in local heritage and authenticity. Our modern design blends Western history and rustic design elements with contemporary forms and materials.

Although Hotel Jackson is in as urban a location as can be found in Wyoming, inspiring everything about our aesthetic is this valley’s spectacular landscape, which guests can be skiing or hiking in after only a short five-minute drive.

Hotel Jackson has 55 rooms, four of which are suites. The hotel’s light-filled, relaxing lobby sets the tone for the rest of the property. We think the veins running through the stone floor here look like the rivers and streams that flow through the valley.

Warm wood, patinated metal, and leather invoke a sense of place and pay homage to our Western heritage. A two-story, wood-burning fireplace is warming in the literal sense.

Textiles include traditional and contemporary Native American inspired carpets (designed by our founder), and much of the artwork is by artists represented in local galleries.

Our FIGS restaurant and lounge are comfortable and welcoming places to unwind and enjoy wine and local craft beers, specialty cocktails, and authentic Lebanese cuisine. In-room dining is available for a late-night snack, or an intimate private dinner.

Guests interested in exploring the town of Jackson will find our location convenient: more boutiques, restaurants, and art galleries than you could visit in a week are within walking distance.

During the ski season, Hotel Jackson offers its guests a free a shuttle to both of the valley’s ski areas, Snow King Mountain, which is a 5-minute shuttle ride, and Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, which is a 20-minute scenic shuttle ride.

In 1977, Jim Darwiche was driving through the Wyoming en route to Yellowstone National Park when his Volkswagon Westfalia broke down in Jackson. As the van was getting fixed Jim stayed at the Circle A motel, right off Jackson’s famous town square.

Immediately enchanted with the town, the people, and the community of Jackson, Jim ultimately decided to leave his successful corporate career in aeronautics at Boeing in Seattle, Washington.

Eager to set down roots and realize his dream of becoming an entrepreneur at the base of the Tetons, the Darwiche family opened a restaurant, expanded into retail, and then commercial development before 35 years later creating Hotel Jackson next door to what was the Circle A Motel.

Because the hotel is locally grown, owned, and operated it is built on the Darwiche Family’s relationships within the community.

Standing on the crossroads between wild and urban, western and international, Hotel Jackson is the Darwiche family’s way to convey the story of how unique and special Jackson Hole is to their guests and the world beyond.

Suites

Each of our suites was designed to be a one-of-a-kind, but each, without a doubt, are the most luxurious rooms in downtown Jackson. Relax in comfort, space, and uncompromising style.

Premium Rooms

Located on our bright and airy top floor, our Premium Rooms have all of the comforts of our superior rooms including natural gas fireplaces and spa-like bathrooms with both a soaking tub and walk-in shower, plus they have either an extended sitting area or small terrace.

Jackson Suite
Like our other suites, our largest suite is named for someone important to the valley’s history. Davy Jackson was the mountain man and fur trader Jackson Hole was named after. One thousand one hundred-square-feet, the two-room Jackson Suite has a living room and separate bedroom.

Settle into a couch in front of a gas fireplace in the living room while your significant other makes a cocktail at the wet bar. If you need more space, it’s possible to combine the Jackson Suite with an adjoining Superior room with two Queen-size beds.

Colter Suite
Situated on the premier corner of the hotel, extensive natural light makes the two-room Colter Suite shine. This suite also has two outdoor patios with urban and mountain views. Inside, designers had fun repurposing rawhide drums as side tables and original fine art.

This suite is named for John Colter, a member of the Lewis & Clark Expedition and thought to be the first white man to see the Grand Teton Mountain Range.

FIGS
Savor the rich flavors of Lebanon at FIGS, Jackson Hole’s most unique culinary experience. An article in The Washington Post says FIGS has the best hummus in the state.

Featuring authentic Lebanese-Mediterranean cuisine, FIGS pays homage to the Lebanese roots of the Jackson Hole family behind Hotel Jackson. Currently offering dine-in service in addition to curbside takeout from 11 am – 9 pm, daily.

Lunch

Our mediterannean, vegan-friendly lunch menu features traditional favorites and incredible selection of entrée salads that are equal parts healthy and satisfying. Take-out available.

Dinner

Treat yourself with an exceptional experience from FIGS. From the plush velvet banquette seating to the two story fireplace, to the wall of windows, FIGS is a lovely place to relax and let service come to you.

The fresh mediterranean cuisine is as authentic as it is flavorful. Choose from your old favorites: kebabs, schwarma, or your own personal hummus by design. Lots of options available that suit vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-sensitive diets. Take-out availble.

Luxury Amenities
As the only Forbes Four Star and AAA Four Diamond family-owned hotel in downtown Jackson, Hotel Jackson elevates the art of western hospitality and personal service. Our lobby, restaurant, library, and rooms are where mountain meets modern.

Whether you curl up by the large wood-burning fireplace in FIGS, or by the one in the comfort of your own room; lounge on the velvety couches in the library or relax in the fresh air of the rooftop hot tub, Hotel Jackson is designed to be where nature, your soul, and luxury connect.

Sacajawea Library

Our Sacajawea Library is inspired by Kenneth Thomasma, a former teacher at Jackson Hole Middle School and the Kelly Elementary School. The Library is a beautiful and calm space for our guest to relax, enjoy a cup of coffee or hand-crafted cocktail and socialize.

Of course we have all of Thomasma’s books in our cozy Sacajawea Library, along with a diverse selection of books about the region and also books by local authors.

Complimentary Concierge Services

We love our hometown and the myriad activities and restaurants available to visitors. Let our expert concierge team help you build an amazing itinerary for your stay.

We can help you secure reservations at the best restaurants in Jackson Hole and help you book exceptional experiences like horseback riding in the wilderness, a wildlife safari adventure, heli-skiing trip and so much more.

Light Refreshments

In the morning, enjoy complimentary coffee from Snake River Roasters and tea in the lobby. If you’re looking for a leisurely start to the day, take your drink into our Sacajawea Library and settle into one of the swallowingly soft leather sofas or chairs with the day’s newspaper or a book about the area’s history.

In the afternoon, look for fresh-baked cookies just outside the Library.

Natural Gas Fireplaces

Every guest room and suite has a natural gas fireplace. The Miller Suite has a gas fireplace on the wrap-around deck.

Rooftop Spa

Our rooftop hot tub will help your muscles relax and recover after the day’s activities.

Bathrobes & Plush Towels

Our spa-like bathrooms include 100 percent cotton bathrobes and plush towels made by the Turkish Towel Company.

Nespresso Machine

Don’t want to come downstairs for coffee? Every room and suite has a Nespresso machine and pods. Your room’s mini fridge is stocked with cream (in addition to still and sparkling water).

High-Speed Wi-Fi & Telephones

Hotel Jackson offers complimentary high speed Wi-Fi throughout the property and also free local and domestic long-distance telephone calls.

Terraces

Select rooms and suites have terraces offering views over downtown Jackson and the buttes that surround town.

Geneva Bluetooth Sound System

All rooms and suites have Geneva Bluetooth Sound Systems with FM radio and alarm clock.

Handcrafted Cocktails

FIGS Lobby Lounge has a diverse and sophisticated cocktail program that includes drinks such as Lebanese Lemonade and Wyoming Campfire.

In addition to cocktails, FIGS has an extensive list of domestic and international wines, including several made by local Jackson Hole Winery. (Rest easy—Jackson Hole Winery uses grapes grown in Sonoma County, California; Jackson Hole is home to many amazing things, but we’re the first to admit good wine grapes are not one of them.).

Deloney Meeting Room

Our Deloney Meeting Room provides the perfect space and the digital presentation and AV equipment for corporate conferences and board meetings of up to 14 participants.

Shopping & Dining

Hotel Jackson’s location in downtown Jackson—just one block from the Town Square—means we’re in the heart of the valley’s best shopping and dining. Walk to dozens of different restaurants, boutiques, design showrooms, and art galleries.

Ski Shuttle

During Jackson Hole Mountain Resort’s and Snow King’s ski seasons, we offer complimentary shuttle rides to both resorts in a spacious Mercedes luxury motor coach.

Activities in Jackson Hole
All The Best Outdoor Things To Do & See

Here in Jackson Hole we live in close harmony with the seasons and the wildlife that are the valley’s true residents. Activities change season to season but what doesn’t change is Hotel Jackson’s passion for sharing the spirit of this exceptional place.

From hiking to heli-skiing, from stand-up paddleboarding to snowmobiling, there is truly something for everyone.

SUMMER

There’s a common story you’ll hear if you ask locals why they live in Jackson: “I came out for a winter, but stayed for the summer.” Summer is when Jackson Hole really shines. Start your perfect summer day with a tandem paragliding flight from the summit of Rendezvous Mountain or a yoga class.

Eat lunch in Grand Teton National Park while keeping your eyes peeled for moose. Hike to a glacial-fed lake before dinner, which could be eaten on a scenic float down the Snake River. Finally, head to a concert by the Grand Teton Music Festival, a world-renowned symphony orchestra that plays in Teton Village.

Jackson Hole Summer Activities
Summer in Jackson Hole means long sunny days, rambling rivers, beautiful Teton backdrops, in other words, it’s perfect. With no shortage of activities for the whole family, let our concierge build your perfect mountain summer adventure.

National Park Safaris

The southern boundary of Grand Teton National Park is four miles from our front door; the southern entrance to Yellowstone National Park is about one hour farther.

These parks couldn’t be more different—the former has dramatic mountains that soar up more than a vertical mile from the valley floor without any foothills to temper their rise; the latter has otherworldly geothermal features and the world’s highest concentration of geysers.

Both are home to grizzly and black bears, bison, wolves, mountain lions, more than 300 species of birds, elk, and moose, among other animals. Go on a safari with a local naturalist guide to turn your park visits into an experience of a lifetime.

Whitewater Rafting

The eight-mile Snake River Canyon is designated a Wild and Scenic River and is home to Class II and III rapids like Lunch Counter, Champagne, and Big Kahuna. There are also a couple of (short) sections of flat water where you can jump out of the boat and take a swim.

Scenic Float Trips

There are outfitters that offer scenic—meaning there are no rapids to negotiate—floats on several different sections of the Snake River. Some of these start in Grand Teton National Park. Others are south of the park.

Allow our staff to help you pick the stretch that’s best for you. Wildlife like moose and bald eagles can be seen on any of the scenic stretches. (Much of the Snake River in Jackson Hole is designated a Wild and Scenic River, after all.) Raft guides will also teach you about the valley’s geology, wildlife, and history.

This activity is suitable for all ages. Packages with meals and/or paired with whitewater rafting are available.

Hotel Jackson Exclusive Wildlife Safari + Photography Workshop!

This curated experience includes private instruction from a professional photographer while you explore famous Jackson Hole scenes. Learn about Ansel Adams, David Brookover, Thomas Mangelsen, and William Henry Jackson as you capture your own images.

After a full day in the field, pick your favorite shot and we’ll have it printed and shipped to your home. A signed copy of David Brookover’s The Road is included.

Guided Hiking

Whether you want a workout or a relaxing walk, we can set you up on a hike with a naturalist guide. Together, you and your guide will determine the hike that best suits your fitness level and interests.

As you hike, your guide will educate you on the flora, fauna, geology, and history of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. Combination tours pair hiking with yoga, hot springs, and more.

Bike Tours

There are more than 100 miles of mountain biking trails in Jackson Hole, including mellow routes and steep, technical downhill trails. There are also 65 miles of paved bike/pedestrian pathways—so there’s truly a bike ride for everyone.

Rides can take you through mountain meadows abloom with wildflowers, aspen groves, or along the Snake River.

ATV Tours

Half-day ATV trips into the Bridger-Teton National Forest are available from May through mid-September and full-day trips are available from July through mid-September. In addition to getting your adrenaline going, your expert guide will teach you the basics of ATV use and safety.

This activity includes the use of helmets and riding goggles. Full-day trips include lunch. Unguided ATV rentals and private tours are also available. Each ATV can carry one or two riders.

Horseback Rides

When you dream of exploring Jackson Hole, you’re likely on horseback—there is no more Western experience than saddling up and taking off into the mountains. We can help you book trail rides ranging from a one-hour orientation to a full-day ride.

Your ride could take you into the Tetons, the Gros Ventre Wilderness, the Snake River or Hoback Canyon, or up Granite Creek. Up the uniqueness of this experience by adding steak dinner, or by pairing it with fly fishing.

Rock & Mountain Climbing

Want to rock? The Tetons are known as the birthplace of American mountaineering and climbers come here from across the country to test their skills on the range’s granite peaks and spires.

Whether you’re looking for the challenge of climbing the 13,770-foot tall Grand Teton, want to try rock climbing for the first time, or want to set up a rock climbing adventure for the whole family, we can help you book it.

Fly Fishing

Jackson Hole is a fly fisherman’s/woman’s paradise. The valley is home to some of the best and most diverse fly fishing in the lower 48 states, and the area has a couple of endemic species of trout found nowhere else.

The Snake River and Flat Creek are on many angler’s bucket lists. And then there are the numerous backcountry creeks only locals know about.

There’s so much to choose from Jackson Hole, we recommend even expert anglers go with a guide. Beginners can get tips on casting and choosing flies. Fly fishing adventures are usually a half-day or full-day.

Kayaking & Paddleboarding

Have you heard of SUPing? Short for stand-up paddleboarding, the newish sport has been sweeping the valley’s rivers and lakes the past several years.

You can still rent kayaks and hire kayak guides, but SUPs have less steep learning curve. (For example, if you fall off a SUP you don’t have to roll yourself back up like you do in a kayak.)

If you want to head out on your own, ask us for our favorite places to do both (hint: String Lake is almost always fun, and it’s a great lake for swimming). Or, if you want instruction, we will help you find a guide.

Hot Air Balloon Rides

Seeking serenity? As the first rays of sunlight hit the valley, float over a working cattle ranch adjacent to Grand Teton National Park.

Enjoy views of the Snake River, the Yellowstone Plateau, and seven different mountain ranges, including the Tetons, the youngest (and, in our opinion, the most stunning) range in the Rockies. Flights include a champagne or juice toast and are appropriate for families.

Jackson Hole Rodeo

Jackson Hole’s rodeo tradition stretches back more than 100 years. The current Jackson Hole Rodeo includes traditional events such as bronc riding, roping, bull-riding, and barrel racing, all of which demonstrate skills that are key to working cattle.

The rodeo is walking distance from Hotel Jackson and is every Wednesday and Saturday night from Memorial Day through Labor Day.

Shooting Experience

Have a blast—pun intended—safely learning about and using various firearms in a controlled environment and under the care of highly trained instructors. Choose from a variety of guns, fired on a western-style outdoor range with targets out to 600 yards. This is a family-friendly activity.

Golf

Yes, you might have to briefly suspend play here to let a moose cross the fairway. And a bald eagle circling overhead might distract you. Golf in Jackson is unlike anywhere else you’ve played. (Also, because of the valley’s elevation of about 6,400 feet, drives go noticeably farther.)

Golf courses in Jackson Hole feature challenging play, creative water hazards and sand traps, modern equipment, exceptional pros, and, of course, spectacular views. Let us help you decide which course best suits your game and arrange a tee time.

Private Scenic Flights

Soar around some of the tallest peaks in the Tetons in a Cessna. This 60- or 90-minute scenic flight offers an intimate bird’s eye view of the valley as it heads up the western slope of the Tetons. Photo opportunities abound.

Geologists say seeing the valley from high above is the best way to understand Jackson Hole’s rich geology. Options include a private family tour and sunset flights.

WINTER
Welcome to the magic of winter in Jackson Hole where outdoor activities invigorate and inspire. Whether it’s the ski trip of a lifetime, a cross-country ski at the base of the Tetons, or a horse-drawn sleigh ride amongst a herd of elk, we are happy to help you plan your Jackson Hole winter adventure.

Things To Do In Jackson Hole In Winter
There is no shortage of mountains near Hotel Jackson and our snow is some of the best you can find in North America. The dry Wyoming climate and mountain storm cycles produce on average over 459 inches of fresh, fluffy powder each year.

The question is not when to ski, but how? The world-class Jackson Hole Mountain Resort offers some of the steepest and deepest skiing in the world.

If you are up for a more relaxed ski day, Snow King, located in the heart of downtown Jackson, and Grand Targhee, located 60 minutes away, are wonderful options.

If you need more adrenaline, let our concierge book a Heli-Ski trip in the Snake River Range; for a slower pace, explore the hundreds of miles of groomed Nordic trails in the valley and Grand Teton National Park.

But Jackson Hole is so much more than a ski destination. The abundance of activities besides skiing will set your winter vacation here apart from any you’ve experienced before. Hop on a dog sled to ride and soak in a remote hot spring.

Bundle up under blankets and take a sleigh ride through the National Elk Refuge to see thousands of elk up close. Discover the geothermal wonders and wildlife of snow-blanketed Yellowstone via snow-coach or snowmobile.

Snowshoe through a forest of towering pine trees alongside a quietly running creek. Or, simply curl up by the fireplace at Hotel Jackson and get lost in a book.

Downhill Skiing 2020-2021

Jackson Hole Mountain Resort consistently ranked as one of the top ski resorts offers 2,500 acres of inbounds terrain and more than 3,000 accessible acres of backcountry terrain.

With a 100-passenger tram that climbs over 4,000 vertical feet in less than 10 minutes, several high-speed quads, two gondolas, and one of the country’s best ski schools JHMR has something for everyone in the family.

JHMR is just twenty minutes from Hotel Jackson, but no need to worry about transportation or parking; Hotel Jackson provides a complimentary shuttle from the hotel to the tram dock at the heart of the resort’s base area to fulfill your transportation needs. The shuttle will be running this year as usual, with socially distancing guidelines in place.

Backcountry Skiing & Mountaineering

Jackson Hole boasts home to some of the best backcountry skiing in North America. With the Tetons as your powder playground, you can ski everything from mellow angle powder runs to steep and deep couloirs.

Jackson Hole is home to several outstanding backcountry guide operations that offer everything from avalanche safety classes to single and multi-day backcountry ski/snowboard trips. Dip your toes into the world of backcountry skiing on your next visit to Jackson.

Dog Sledding

Endless miles of snow-covered plains and dogs that want to run. We’ve all heard tales of the famous Iditarod or Call of the Wild, but it isn’t every day that you can try out mushing for yourself.

Hop on a sled pulled but Iditarod veteran pups themselves, and ride alongside a gorgeous creek in the Bridger-Teton National Forest to a hot spring pool. Warm up with a soak before heading back to the trailhead.

Horse-Drawn Sleigh Rides

Feeling like a day off from skiing or shopping? Head to the National Elk Refuge – just a few minutes from Hotel Jackson – to take a horse-drawn sleigh through thousands of elk who spend the winter here.

These sleighs have been used for over a century to feed the elk, thus the animals are accustomed to them and allow the sleighs to get as close as you will ever get to an elk. The Elk Refuge is home to more than 8,000 elk, 300 species of birds, wolves, mountain lions, bighorn sheep, and coyotes.

The guides are extremely knowledgeable, and you are guaranteed to walk away with a new piece of knowledge about elk, Jackson Hole history, or local flora and fauna. A wonderful experience for all ages of the family!

National Park Tours

The southern boundary of Grand Teton National Park is just four miles from our front door and the southern entrance to Yellowstone National Park is about an hour drive away.

In Grand Teton National Park is the Teton Range — breathtaking mountains that soar up more than a vertical mile from the valley floor. Grand Teton National Park has plenty to do in the winter, with an abundance of snowshoe, hiking, and cross country ski trails.

Yellowstone National Park has otherworldly geothermal features and the world’s highest concentration of geysers. Both parks are home to grizzly and black bears, bison, wolves, mountain lions, elk, moose and over 300 species of birds.

Go on a safari with a local naturalist/guide to turn your park visits into an experience of a lifetime. Fun Fact: Winter is the best time of year to spot wolves!

Snowmobiling

Winter adrenaline rushes don’t have to come from snowboards or skis. Bundle up and get ready for the adventure of your winter – a snowmobile tour. There are a variety of places to explore; snow-covered meadows with breathtaking Teton views or through the Bridger-Teton National Forest to a natural hot spring pool.

These exhilarating day-long or half-day tours are a blast for your whole group; whether it is a weekend getaway with your spouse, a family trip with the kids, or a reunion with friends.

Nordic Skiing

Jackson Hole is most famous for its downhill skiing, but the valley also offers an abundance of trails groomed for cross-country skiing. Some trails are just a five-minute drive from Hotel Jackson through beautiful snowy woods, others go for more than 30 miles through Grand Teton National Park.

At the northern end of Jackson Hole, in Buffalo Valley, former Olympians groom about 10 miles of trail daily and have a cozy lodge that serves a hearty lunch. This is a beautiful and serene way to get outside and see the stunning landscapes Jackson Hole has to offer.

Heli Skiing

If small groups, personalized service and over 10,000 vertical feet of untracked powder are your thing, you are sure to love this experience. Let us arrange a heli-skiing adventure just for you.

If you are not keen on air-time but still want to find fresh powder stashes, try out Cat Skiing. The cat-skiing operations here have access to over 600 acres and 20,000 vertical feet of fresh powder, complete with astounding Teton views.

Snowshoeing

Journey into the heart of winter via one of the most classic modes of winter travel: snowshoes. Tailor the day to your group’s desires. Spend a couple of hours, a half-day or a full day with a naturalist guide, exploring Grand Teton National Park or the surrounding National Forests.

Follow animal tracks, learn about wildlife and winter ecology, or simply take a beautiful walk through the woods or park and enjoy the breath-taking beauty of Jackson Hole and the Tetons blanketed in white.

Private Scenic Flights

If you want a truly unique and unforgettable Jackson Hole experience, see the valley from a bird’s eye view. Fly along the winding and beautiful Snake River and cross over to the Teton range to fly through the tallest peaks in the valley.

Escape into hidden and glittering alpine lakes, distant waterfalls and towering canyons. Learn from your guide about the Native Americans, the legendary fur trappers and the unruly cowboys who conquered and settled Jackson Hole.

Or, opt for an evening flight to see the gorgeous alpenglow – the optical phenomenon of the orange-pink glow that occurs on mountains as the sun sets below the horizon – on the Teton and Gros Ventre ranges; truly an unforgettable and majestic sight to see.

Fat Tire Bike Tours

If you’ve seen a fat bike, you’ve probably laughed at it. Its tires, which are up to 5-inches wide, are, without a doubt, clownish. But, these bikes, which have exploded in popularity in the last five years, are a novel way to explore snowy areas without requiring you to learn a new sport.

Fat bikes look a little different than traditional bicycles, but riding them is the same. Get comfortable on the seat and start pedaling. Full- and half-day trips are available and include bike and helmet rental.

National Museum of Wildlife Art

Perched on a hillside opposite of the National Elk refuge, the National Museum of Wildlife Art is one of Jackson’s hidden gems. The museum holds more than 5,000 permanent works of art representing wildlife from around the world.

Featuring work by prominent artists such as Georgia O’Keeffe, Andy Warhol, Robert Kuhn, John James Audubon, and Carl Rungius, the Museum’s unsurpassed permanent collection chronicles much of the history of wildlife in art, from 2500 B.C. to the present.

Boasting a museum shop, interactive children’s gallery, Restaurant with gorgeous valley views, and a three-quarter-mile outdoor sculpture trail, the museum can keep one entertained for hours. Ask us for a list of current exhibits and events.

About Jackson Hole
Discover the Beauty of Wyoming

As gorgeous and welcoming as Hotel Jackson is, we know we’re but a base camp for you to experience one of the most wild and intact ecosystems in the world.

Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks, and the national forests and wilderness areas surrounding them, are home to diverse wildlife, geologic wonders, and open spaces.

Jackson Hole, where ritzy meets rustic, draws engaged, curious, international travelers, and we have yet to meet one who isn’t awed by its beauty and strong sense of community.

Hotel Jackson, a family-owned, luxury boutique hotel with deep roots in the area, is perfectly situated for you to make the most of your time in this magical area.

Hotel Jackson is nestled in the heart of the quaint but urban town of Jackson, where cafes and boutiques are just steps from our front door. Still, the southern entrance to Grand Teton National Park is only a short 20-minute drive.

Yellowstone is one hour from our front door. Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, consistently rated as one of North America’s top ski resorts, is also about 20 minutes away. Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, one of North America’s — and arguably the world’s — most renowned and legendary ski resorts, is also just a short 20 minute drive.

Jackson Hole is part of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem (GYE), an area almost as big as the state of Maine. It includes Yellowstone National Park and the 30,000 square miles of land around it and is one of the largest nearly intact temperate-zone ecosystems on the planet.

It also holds the largest concentration of wildlife in the lower 48: bison, elk, moose, grizzly and black bears, more than 350 species of birds, wolves, mountain lions, and fox, among other animals.

It is home to more than one dozen glaciers, a supervolcano, the highest concentration of geysers in the world, more than 3,000 miles of hiking trails, and six ski resorts. There truly is nowhere else like it in the world.

Within the GYE, Jackson Hole—a “hole” is what early explorers to this area called alpine valleys surrounded by mountains—is a study in contrasts. It is home to Grand Teton National Park and much of the Bridger-Teton National Forest, yet also the town of Jackson, where both culture and history meet.

Explore streets brimming with western heritage and history while also perusing art galleries exhibiting pieces by Rembrandt, Picasso, and Frederic Remington.

Jackson presents a truly unique culture and unparalleled vacation experience, whether you are hitting the ski slopes, rafting the whitewater of the Snake, or on a wildlife safari scouting for Grizzlies, you are sure to make memories of a lifetime and live your own wild west.

Jackson Hole Attractions
Hotel Jackson sits just one block from Jackson’s Town Square, which is famous for the elk antler arches on each of its corners. (Elk shed their antlers annually, so no elk were killed to make these.) Dozens of restaurants, shops, and art galleries are within walking distance.

The Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, National Elk Refuge, Grand Teton National Park, Yellowstone National Park, and National Museum of Wildlife Art are within driving distance.

NATIONAL PARKS

When it was founded in 1872, Yellowstone National Park was the world’s first national park. Grand Teton National Park doesn’t have Yellowstone’s geologic wonders, but its snaggly peaks and glacial-fed alpine lakes inspire awe in its visitors.

The southern boundary of Grand Teton National Park is four miles north of Hotel Jackson. The main entrance to the park, at Moose (where, yes, you can often spot moose), is a 20-minute drive from the hotel.

Once in the park, there are scenic drives, hundreds of miles of hiking trails, a paved bike/pedestrian pathway, a visitor center with interactive exhibits, historic restaurants, creeks, waterfalls, and lakes on which you can kayak, stand-up paddleboard, sail, or use a motorboat.

One of our favorite things to do in this park is to take the boat shuttle across Jenny Lake and hike to Hidden Falls or Inspiration Point. Of course, we’re always on the lookout for wildlife whenever we’re in the park – we’ve seen everything from moose to grizzly bears just while driving the park’s roads.

Take a few minutes to contact our Concierge Team to help you book adventures and activities.

Yellowstone National Park is most famous for Old Faithful. Spewing between 4,000 and 8,000 gallons of boiling water as high as 160 feet into the air about every 90 minutes, Old Faithful is one of the rare things that lives up to its hype. Beyond Old Faithful, Yellowstone is so much more than Old Faithful.

Chat with our knowledgeable staff to learn some of their favorite places in the park. Bigger than Rhode Island and Delaware combined, Yellowstone has enough opportunities for exploration to last more than a lifetime.

A day trip into Yellowstone is doable from Hotel Jackson, but some guests do like to spend one night in the park. If you want to do this, we recommend booking at least six months in advance. Our Concierge Team is happy to assist you with accommodation recommendations.

During the winter, Yellowstone is blanketed by more than 10 feet of snow, making it a completely different world than in summer. Also in winter, Yellowstone is much less crowded with people than in the summer.

While most of the park’s roads are closed from November 1 – mid-April, you can travel into and around Yellowstone by snowmobile or snow coach. Spend a night at Old Faithful and a day snowshoeing or cross-country skiing around its groomed trail system.

SHOPPING

Jackson Hole has no big box stores. Here one-off boutiques and studios are the norm. Find everything from Pendleton wool blankets to what are arguably the world’s best truffles (made by the same master chocolatier who makes some of FIGS’ pastries and desserts) to artisan and fine jewelry, fashion, fine art, outdoor gear and clothing and, of course, western wear and Jackson Hole logo apparel.

Our Concierge Team can provide a map of the area and suggest shops based on your style.

ARTS & CULTURE

Jackson Hole has one of the most vibrant art scenes in the country. Since the National Center for Arts Research began measuring arts vibrancy in every U.S. county in 2015, we’ve rated in the index’s top 10 for small to medium-size cities.

In 2016, Jackson Hole even ranked #1, ahead of Santa Fe, New Mexico. September’s annual Fall Arts Festival draws thousands of artists and collectors to the valley for events such as the Western Visions® Show & Sale, the Western Design Conference, and the Jackson Hole Art Auction.

Year-round, the Center for the Arts hosts concerts and performances ranging from The Avett Brothers to the legendary Savion Glover. Every summer, the Grand Teton Music Festival performs a seven-week symphony season at Walk Festival Hall in Teton Village.

The National Museum of Wildlife Art, two miles north of Hotel Jackson, has a permanent collection with more than 4,000 artworks by approximately 500 artists including Carl Rungius, Georgia O’Keeffe, Andy Warhol, Pablo Picasso, and Frederic Remington. Explore the Museum’s 14 galleries, outdoor Sculpture Trail, Children’s Discovery Gallery, or the restaurant.

TETON VILLAGE

This community on the West Bank of the Snake River is home to Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, consistently rated as one of the best ski resorts in North America. But Teton Village has more to offer than skiing and winter activities.

In the summer, there’s a ropes course, a downhill mountain biking park with trails ranging from beginner to advanced, free outdoor concerts and performances, hiking trails, scenic rides on the aerial tram, and some of this country’s only via ferrata, where bolts and cables have been installed around natural rock features to assist climbers.

Kids love the dancing water fountain on the Village Commons. During ski season, Hotel Jackson offers guests a complimentary luxury shuttle service to Teton Village.
