GARDEN APARTMENTS
For family and friends looking for a self-catering getaway on the coast. All individually styled, you’ll find a mix of layouts for four, five or six guests.
Most of our Garden Apartments have a relaxed, comfy open plan kitchen, dining and living space, ideal for retreating to after a day out by the coast. The master bedroom has an ensuite and there is a family bathroom or shower room. Enjoy sea views from your window or balcony.
Our four and six bedroom Garden Apartments, some of which are split over two levels, have a double bed that can be a twin if needed in the second bedroom and twin beds in the third bedroom.
Within this collection, there are three bedroom apartments that sleep five and these feature a different layout, spread over three floors. The master suite has a mezzanine king size bed, ensuite and private sitting area, for when you want some quiet time.
There is a twin bedroom and a single bedroom. These also have an open plan kitchen, dining and lounge area for family time. For outside space, sit on the patio and unwind.
SUNSET VIEW ROOMS
Starry nights, fiery sunsets, daytime sea views… see them all from your balcony. We suggest enjoying a glass of your favourite drink right in this spot too.
Our Sunset View rooms are the picture of laidback elegance. King size beds to sink into, comfy armchairs for curling up reading or checking the headlines and luxe ensuite bathrooms. Whether you like to wake up with a shower or relax in a bubble bath, you will be all sorted.
GARDEN SUITES
Get snug and lounge in the generous sitting room, which oozes both style and comfort. Or step outside and make the most of your patio, overlooking the garden and sea.
There are sofas and chairs with throws and cushions for you to curl up on and a dining table for playing cards, checking your tablet or enjoying a drink in the spacious living room.
The warm and inviting bedroom has a king size bed, slip in between the soft sheets and completely relax. Completing the Suite is a modern, on-trend bathroom. One of these suites has a bath with overhead rainfall shower.
THE SIGNAL HOUSE
The secret is out… our Signal House is a very lovely retreat for two or four. Step outside and breathe in the coastal air. Stargaze from your hot tub. Or enjoy the homely feel of the living space. It’s made for happy times.
When the sun shines, throw open the doors and have chilled drinks on your sun terrace. When the weather misbehaves watch the elements from the cosiness of the warm and inviting open plan living space. Fancy a night in, test your culinary skills in the well-equipped kitchen.
Curl up on the sofa and take in the sea views. The earthy and muted interiors will make you feel instantly relaxed. Shut out the world and sleep well in your super king bed. Have a lie in watching TV and freshen up for the day ahead in the ensuite bathroom.
The equally stylish second bedroom can be a double or a twin, depending who is staying with you. And there is a family bathroom. You can book this together with the Penthouse to enjoy an ideal place to stay for groups of 10.
EAT & DRINK
Food glorious food! It’s something we delight in here at Gara Rock.
Let us share a real taste of Devon in our restaurant with you (booking is essential and only open to hotel residents currently). Before you dine chill out with a cocktail in our lounge bar. Soak up the sun on the terrace. Or if just passing by pick up a snack from the Garavan.
THE RESTAURANT
Set yourself up for coastal adventures with a hearty breakfast. Relax over a leisurely lunch. Enjoy a seasonal supper watching the sun set behind the cliffs. Our restaurant is open all year round, (booking essential) so come and tuck in. It’s currently open to hotel guests only and their four-legged friends.
From land to sea, we like to keep it local, wherever we can. Our chef’s seasonal dishes feature ingredients from local producers and his own kitchen garden.
Start your day with a hearty breakfast. Squeeze in a leisurely lunch and a glass of something chilled.
Round off your day with a cocktail and a delicious dinner. All served up with the backdrop of a stunning view. Open all year round. Lunch is from 12pm – 3pm. Our OX Grill on the terrace is serving up our ‘Over the Coals’ menu until 3pm. We do get busy, so we advise booking.
We’re open for dinner from 5.30pm – 9pm in our restaurant and it’s by reservation only. Sadly, we’re only open to hotel residents at this time. If you’re staying with us, give us a call and we’ll reserve your table. We’re dog friendly, so bring your four legged friends along too.
OX GRILL ALFRESCO DINING
Incredible view, sea breeze and the tantalising aroma of our ‘over the coals’ menu… our brand new Ox Grill has arrived. Sit back on our beautifully landscaped terrace and let our chefs whip up your meal over the glowing embers of our Ox Grill.
Get-together with family or friends and enjoy easy conversation, a relaxed ambience and delicious food. It will be your new favourite spot for alfresco dining. Mixing land, sea and allotment, there are plenty of tempting dishes to try.
LOUNGE BAR
As a hotel guest enjoy a mid-morning coffee, afternoon glass of bubbles or an early evening gin (try our very own Gara Rock Gin, it’s well worth it!), our Lounge Bar offers a informal and comfy place to relax with a drink and maybe even a light bite.
There’s a range of great vintages, spirits, beers, homemade cordials, cocktails and more. So, make yourself at home in an armchair or on a sofa and enjoy a lazy afternoon, pre-dinner drinks or a nightcap.

You can even bring your own board game to play, read a newspaper or book or just sit and talk while gazing at the view. We’ll let you into a little secret, you can often catch an amazing sunset from our Lounge Bar too.

Or if you aren’t quite ready to finish your evening, how about a relaxing nightcap before say goodnight to a lovely evening and heading back to your accommodation. Your friends with wet noses and wagging tails are most welcome to join you too.

Relax… There are a host of ways to achieve your very own nirvana…Lazy laps in the pool, cleansing pores in the steam room, chilling out with a movie or treatments galore.

Unwind or re-energise in our Wild Rock Spa. Treat yourself to a manicure, pedicure (or both), a facial or restorative massage. Steam away your stresses. Heat up in the sauna. Admire the view while sinking into the warm Jacuzzi bubbles.
A peaceful mind and body starts here. Switch off and take time out for you. Look after your well-being with reflexology. Treat yourself to a restorative body massage.
Or is a body scrub with back, neck and shoulder massage more appealing to you? Enjoy a glowing facial or pamper your hands and feet. There is something to tempt everyone.
We like all things local, which is why we use Apothespa skincare products. Organic, natural and vegan, they are all handmade in Totnes, just down the road from us.
We’re only open right now to hotel guests. And you will need to book early, as we don’t want you to miss out. To save any disappointment, it’s best to contact us after you’ve booked your stay, so you can make sure your spa treatment is all booked in too.
Then all you need to think about is what to pack for your stay, getting here and then of course, just relax. Our spa is popular, so you can wait until you get here to book, but it is likely you will only get a space if we have a cancellation.
POOLS
Inviting and calming, take a dip in our indoor pool. With floor to ceiling windows overlooking the sea, sit in the bubbling Jaccuzi and soak up the view. We think it’s hard to beat. Ideal for cooler months and rainy days.
Lie back and float in the warming water or wake up your muscles with an invigorating swim. When the sunshine appears, usually between April and October, head to the outdoor pool overlooking the sea (what another stunning view!). Bring a book and lie on a lounger. Or step in and cool off.
There’s something very relaxing about stepping into a swimming pool. Take your pick of our indoor or outdoor swimming pools, we’re very lucky that both enjoy the stunning backdrop of endless blue sea. Or simply unwind in our jacuzzi, sauna and steam room.
INDOOR SWIMMING POOL
Step inside our indoor pool area and be enveloped into the atmosphere of calm. Take a moment to sit or lie on a lounger overlooking the lovely view. Or head into the water for some leisurely laps. It’s open every day for you to pop along.
OUTDOOR POOL
When the sun shines brightly, glistening on outdoor pool, you will feel as if you are abroad. It’s a great spot to enjoy the quiet haven of countryside and stunning sea views.
Sit on the poolside and dangle your feet in the water, choose a lounge and lie back and let the sun warm you or pick a deckchair and read your latest page turner. When it’s time to cool off, step in and do a few lazy laps or just lie on your back and float. Usually open from April to October.

Sometimes nothing beats relaxing in front of a movie. On these days, we have just the place for you, our 12-seater cinema room. Tucked away, this warm and intimate cinema has large comfy chairs inviting you to spend time lounging in front of a great film.
With snacks and drinks of course! Action, family favourites, romance or comedy, we screen a host of films seven days a week. You’ll be given film listings on check-in, so just speak to our Guest Services team to book.
