GoldenEye is not an ordinary hotel, but a collection of private villas, cottages and beach huts. Each is set amid tropical gardens, private beaches and secluded coves—a Jamaica home away from home.

GoldenEye is a place. A mindset. A far-reaching myth in the collective imagination. And yet, GoldenEye couldn’t exist anywhere in the world—except, of course, exactly where it is.

Artists and writers. Spies and seducers. Their stories are as much a part of this place as the ancient tangle of vines and trees that have made GoldenEye a jungle garden of incredible diversity.

I-tal means food that’s local and natural fresh from the sea and the tree. Jamaican dining gets its avor from the wisdom of I-tal cuisine. Local specialties fill our menu along with seasonal produce grown at Pantrepant Farm.

The FieldSpa—its philosophy and treatments—are grounded in the moist, island earth and incorporate its healing waters. Pure Jamaican in rhythm and tempo, FieldSpa opens a window to our island ways. The plant-based powers of our treatments cultivate a soothing and improved sense of centeredness while promoting a feeling of calm.

Playful adventures in the waves. Bumpy rides up the hill to Firefly. Paddleboarding at sunrise. A midnight dip in the GoldenEye Lagoon. Rituals are meant to be repeated, but experiences are never the same.

VILLAS
Each of our stand-alone villas is its own private world, set in a verdant garden of native greenery and sitting directly on the beach or lagoon. Ann Hodges, the noted Jamaican architect, designed every villa with the best of relaxed, barefoot living in mind—hardwood floors, high ceilings, cool linens and oversized furniture.

A sexy outdoor shower in each villa’s lush secluded garden enhances the sights, smells and sounds of nature. The full kitchen and outdoor dining table make al fresco eating a part of the villa experience.

ONE BEDROOM BEACH VILLA
Each of the five One Bedroom Beach Villas open directly onto Low Cay Beach. All are furnished with a full kitchen, large private porch with outdoor dining table, king-size bed, en-suite bathroom with claw foot tub and adjoining outdoor garden shower.

TWO BEDROOM LAGOON VILLA
Our Two Bedroom Lagoon Villa has all the amenities and conveniences of all our villas — king-size beds, en-suite bathrooms with claw foot tubs, outdoor garden shower, large private porch and full kitchen. This particular villa sits directly on GoldenEye’s four-acre lagoon and has its own stone deck and an additional wooden deck with direct lagoon access.

VILLA VESPER
Vesper is our brand new spacious 5 bedroom villa that sits directly on the tranquil lagoon. This private, open-air villa features spacious king-size bedrooms, a fully fitted open plan kitchen, large private verandas, and a beautiful garden overlooking the lagoon.

It’s the only villa of its size on the lagoon, making it unique and ideal for groups or families. A large veranda leads down to the lagoon and two freestanding Lagoon Cottages – the perfect location for couples. It’s a great spot for watching the sunset or enjoying a quiet morning on the water.

LAGOON COTTAGES
A perfect perch for paddleboarding at sunrise or a midnight dip, it doesn’t get better than a cottage directly on the lagoon. Guests who love to start, and end, each day with a swim treasure the cottages for their direct access to the water from their own private dock.

Every cottage includes a kayak making easy a serene and invigorating voyage. Turn the music on low and, listen to the soft splash of the water as it laps against the side of the dock. Take in the heady scents of the lush plants and flowers that surround you.

Indulge in modern luxuries (Blackwell Rum, hand-dyed batik robes, bath and beauty products made with local botanical ingredients) while appreciating all the tranquil turquoise waters have to offer.

BEACH HUTS
Chris built the huts in the style of his own GoldenEye hut and to mirror the way he likes to live. “To me, hut life is about casualness and simplicity. What makes it special are the louvered windows. During the day, you control the light and the breeze. At night, when you open the louvers, you feel like you’re sleeping under the stars.

The feeling is very basic. Even primal,” Chris says. At GoldenEye, our village of huts is built at various heights and scattered around a garden that stretches between Snorkeler’s Cove (where life teams below the waves) and Shabeen (our rooftop lounge and whimsically-designed freshwater pool) on one side and Button Beach, with its gentle, almost wave-less waters, on the other.

Check into any of our huts and you’ll find hand-dyed batik robes and our bath and beauty products made with local botanical ingredients waiting for you. Bring your toothbrush. Flip flops. Bathing suit. Not much else. That’s life in a hut. Essentially…as good as it gets.

THE GAZEBO
Overlooking both Low Cay Beach and the Lagoon, the Gazebo is an open-air perch where you can sip a GoldenEye cocktail while watching a fiery Caribbean sunset. Dinner dishes range from local surf and turf to favorite Jamaican specialties served with an international wine list.

BIZOT BAR
On the western arm of Low Cay Beach, Bizot Bar is the spot for stylish low-key dining. Located just steps from the sea and our fresh-water swimming pool, Bizot Bar serves breakfast and lunch that includes fresh salads, yummy burgers and tasty pastas, as well as famously authentic Jamaican specialties.

BAMBOO BAR
Very simple, very special this is our super laidback rum bar right on rustic Button Beach. With sand underfoot, enjoy the smoky flavors of Jamaican Jerk BBQ along with grilled fish straight from the sea. As soon as their boats pull in, local fisher man bring by their freshest catch.

SHABEEN
Next to the pool by Beach Huts and Snorkeler’s Cove, Shabeen is the super relaxed spot for cocktails and drinks. Grab a Red Stripe and wander upstairs to the rooftop lounge and take in a panoramic view of the sea.

IN-ROOM DINING
For a really delicious treat, try our in-room dining! We’ll deliver breakfast on the veranda of your Lagoon Villa or set a romantic dinner on the porch of your Beach Villa. You decide, we’ll make it happen!

OUTDOOR DINING
Private dining by candlelight on the far edge of the Peninsula? Torch-lit beach BBQ? Use your imagination and we’ll keep it cooking!

FIELDSPA AT GOLDENEYE
Located in a cottage on the edge of the lagoon, with private open-air treatment huts, guests find FieldSpa intensely restorative. From the cozy setting nestled in the bush to the earthy scent of spices hanging in the air, the connection to the surrounding natural environment imparts a deep sense of calm.

Many of the botanical elixirs and essential oils we use are made on site, drawing on traditional Jamaican recipes and drawing the healing powers of flowers, roots, leaves and herbs grown at our farm, Pantrepant.

POOLS & BEACHES
Reverie and reflection, feeling and flow-water has its way of dissolving hard edges while stirring the spirit to life. Low Cay is the main beach at GoldenEye.

With 500 feet of white sand, it’s so wide and sprawling, it can sometimes feel like its own private deserted island while Button Beach—the rustic strip of sand home to our very own rum bar—is as adorable as its name implies.

Our water sports guides, helpers and instructors are trained lifeguards and skilled sailors. They will assist with beach towels, kayaks and glass-bottom boats. Or grab a snorkel and fins at Snorkeler’s Cove to explore one of the many coral reefs closeby.

WATA SPORTS!
Low Cay is the main beach at GoldenEye—500 smooth, sandy feet of beach shaped like a croissant. It’s so wide and sprawling, it can sometimes feel like its own private, deserted island. While Button Beach—our rustic beach that’s home to a bar shack—is as adorable as its name implies.

Our water sports guides, helpers and instructors are trained lifeguards and skilled sailors. They will assist with beach towels, kayaks and glass-bottom boats. If you’re into swimming with the fishes, head to Snorkeler’s Cove—that’s where you can grab a snorkel and fins before exploring one of the many coral reefs close by.

KAYAKING
GoldenEye’s varied shoreline lends itself to exploration by kayak. Depart from Wata Sport Beach.

STAND-UP PADDLEBOARDING
The fast growing sport of stand-up paddle boarding is a wonderful way to enjoy our lagoon, Oracabessa Bay and the open sea beyond.

SAILING
Learn how to sail with our certified Wata Sports team at Button Beach. Navigate the Caribbean Sea on one of GoldenEye’s Sun Fish or Hobie Cat sailboats.

DEEP SEA FISHING

Available vessels are the 38foot speed/ power boat “For Your Eyes Only”, and “Whaler One”, the 33foot sport and fishing boat. Water and Red Stripe beers are provided, and a picnic can be arranged upon request. 48-hour advance booking required.

OUT AND ABOUT
The Blue Mountains are one of the world’s most mystical landscapes. More than just where Jamaica’s famous coffee comes from, the Blue Mountains are home to Strawberry Hill, another jewel in the crown of the Island Outpost hotels.

At 3,100 feet above sea level, to spend a night or two in the Blue Mountains is to experience a Jamaica you never knew existed. To find out more about staying at two Island Outpost hotels during one trip to Jamaica, we suggest you see our Two Post Outpost invitation.

PLANT A TREE
Michael Caine, Kate Moss, Quincy Jones and Johnny Depp have all planted trees at GoldenEye. You can, too, by making a donation of USD$1,000.00 to the Oracabessa Foundation, which works with the town of Oracabessa on sustainable, local development.

TENNIS, ANYONE?
GoldenEye’s tennis court is floodlit and is available day and night on a first come, first served, fair share arrangement.

FIREFLY
Firefly has the most stunning view in the Caribbean. The property’s magical legacy spans centuries and has been both sacred and strategic, prized by all who have lived there—from the island’s indigenous people, the Taino, to the notorious pirate-turned-governor Sir Henry Morgan.

In 1948, celebrated playwright Noël Coward acquired the property, and it stands today as Coward designed it: a modest, modern house with grand history and stunning views. At Firefly, Coward entertained glamorous personalities from movie stars to literary greats and even Britain’s Queen Mum, who famously stopped in for lunch on her 1965 trip to Jamaica.

Firefly is a 15-minute drive from GoldenEye. It is the ideal location for large parties or weddings, as well as a relaxing afternoon picnic. Plan to stay for sunset, when the bright pink, dusky blue and deep gold light converge in the sky. Guest Services will arrange your visit to Firefly.
