From the top of our beautiful village, you will discover a dazzling panorama. You will admire the ancestral vines of Saint-Emilion, a magnificent wine-growing landscape but also the first to have been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Hotel de Pavie offers 14 modern and elegant rooms and 3 suites designed by architect Alberto Pinto. Every window and terrace offers inspiring panoramas of the region.

Each room is designed to allow you a calm experience, in the heart of a cocoon of tranquility in Saint-Emilion. Go back in time, in the heart of the medieval village where you can stroll on foot in the cobbled streets directly from the hotel.

We also recommend you the Residence Pavie, three kilometers away from the village and in the heart of Château Pavie vineyard, Saint-Emilion 1er Grand Cru Classé A. 3 bedrooms and 1 suite await you for a unique experience in the heart of the vineyards.

Hotel de Pavie features the gastronomic delights of a 2 Michelin-starred restaurant, La Table de Pavie, with a creative cuisine signed by the famous Chef Yannick Alléno, with a first class French wines list including local Premier Grand Cru selection.

It is the Perse Family’s and our team’s will and wish to create and to offer you this refined and welcoming experience located in a place of such vast history.

You will find design elements such as stone and wood which reflect the natural colors of the local area of Saint-Emilion. The panoramic terrace offers vineyard landscapes and French countryside.

The Location
Our sweet home Hotel de Pavie is located in the heart of wine tourism in Saint-Emilion and Bordeaux on the right bank of the Garonne.

Close to Bordeaux, it is pleasant to stroll for a day during your stay with us in this beautiful and dynamic metropolis in the South-West. Bordeaux is also home to the Cite Mondiale du Vin. We are also very close to the famous Dordogne region where you can explore the prehistoric caves.

The Story
The Hotel de Pavie was once a convent where nuns offered shelter and protection to pilgrims and travelers. After the revolution, the building became a post office. Its next life was as an inn, and then a hotel restaurant.

In 1927 it was christened Hostellerie de Plaisance. Post-World War Two, the place was used as an inn and dance hall. Villagers gathered on the terrace to dance and meet. The guinguette closed its doors in the 1960s to make way for a hotel restaurant.

The Perse Family became the hosts of this renowned House in 2000. In 2007, the hotel was extended and transformed with the acquisition of an old house with Roman tiles.

This Village House is connected to the Main House by crossing and strolling around our pretty gardens and by taking a glass elevator carved into the rock. The garden courtyard of the Hôtel de Pavie is located just a few meters from the steps where it is said that Ausone liked to meditate.

In September 2020, a new chapter is being written and our entity, Perse Latitudes, is accelerating its development in collaboration with the famous Michelin-starred Chef Yannick Alléno.

Through this new dynamic, we wish to strengthen ties with Château Pavie, owned by the Perse Family. Hostellerie de Plaisance thus becomes Hotel de Pavie and its restaurant La Table de Pavie.

The Perse Family
Previously the Perse Family was at the head of a large supermarket chain in the Paris area. When they were still only a young couple, Gerard and Chantal Perse developed a great passion for wine that they had never been able to express themselves.

They found their happiness in 1993 with Château Monbousquet in the heart of our beautiful region in Saint-Emilion with which they had really fallen in love. In 1998 they realized their dream by becoming owners of Château Pavie which was promoted to 1er Grand Cru Classé A of Saint-Emilion in 2012.

Today, the Perse Family oversees the exceptional vinification of three prestigious properties: Château Pavie, Château Pavie Decesse and Château Monbousquet. This unconventional path towards Saint-Emilion and its vineyards shows that exceptional wine is not always the product of a long family tradition

Since 2000, Chantal Perse and her daughter Angelique Da Costa have made the Hôtel de Pavie an exceptional place in the heart of Saint-Emilion, dedicated to the art of living, with unreserved energy in all its dimensions.

Activities & Facilities
We are very happy to meet all your expectations during your stay in our house Hotel de Pavie. Our reception team will be happy to help and accompany you to discover our heritage.
