DISCOVER ZURICH
Zurich is the city of water, that`s why swimming is a must. Summer and “Badi” what the citizens call their public area with lake access just belong together. Swim in the crystal clear lake or in the river and after that take a sun bath directly in the middle of the city – that`s probably one piece of the quality of life in Zurich.
One hint from us: not far from the hotel is the 120 years old public lake acess “Seebad Utoquai”. Is there anything nicer than to place your bathrobe on a hook in the morning and walking straight to the lake promenade and taking a swim in Lake Zurich. If you leave the hotel early enough you might be the first one – wonderful! Try it!
I am born by the North Sea and I love water. What would I do in Zurich? Yes, exactely this: with the early morning mood I start from the Hotel Europe and walk along the lake promenade of Lake Zurich to the “Bürkliplatz”.
Preferably, on a Tuesday or Friday, because then there is the weekly market. Amazing fresh herbs, regional vegetables, fresh baked bread and a lot more delicious things are waiting for you.
After that you go on a 20-minutes walk also along the lake promenade to “Strandbad Mythequai” to rent Stand up paddling board. Now you can explore Zurich from the water perspective and just paddle and enjoy. In the evening you end the day at restaurant Max & Otto in the Romantik Hotel Europe. Try it!
Probably the most famous place to go shopping is the Bahnhofstrasse. It is just a 10-minutes walk away from our hotel. Whether it is a international luxury or cool and local brand you will certainly find it here.
The motto here is: The further you walk towards the main train station the more expensive and exclusive are the jewelers and fashion malls. However, if you like it more regional and looking for something special, you will find it in Zurich-west and in the region „Aussensihl“. Trend and tradition are at home in the old town of Zurich.
