Our family hotel in Haute Savoie is not one of those found on glossy and cold paper, it is a truly living chalet, a particular way of life offered to ski and mountain lovers in the French Alps.
It is an ideal departure point for those who wish to measure themselves with the high mountain or those in quest of the self, but also for those who just wish to discover the Haute Savoie and our valley at the foot of the Mont Blanc, take a deep breath of the mountains’ fresh air and be blown away by the panoramic views.
At our family hotel in Haute Savoie, one of our principles is to be of our time: to respect our heritage, our values and our traditions, not to deny the virtues of our connected routine and especially not to forget to freshen up, to reinvent ourselves through the seasons.
This search for a balance is expressed through the choice of materials (old wood, Courtil stone, terracotta) and personalized decoration. We cannot wait to share with you our passion for the Mont Blanc valley in our family hotel in Haute Savoie.
THE HISTORY
Since his most tender childhood, Jean-Sebastien Beslay, owner of the hotel, has spent his holidays in Chamonix-Mont-Blanc, in both summer and winter. He roamed the mountains, played golf, and appreciated the many activities and pleasures this valley had to offer along with its breathtaking landscapes.
In the 2000s, he discovered the Hotel les Grands Montets in Argentiere. A hidden gem located 300 meters away from Grands Montets’ slopes and a ten-minute walk to the town center. Since then, he came back every year with his children, seduced by the charm of this authentic mountain chalet where guests were feeling at home.
He tried other renowned addresses in Chamonix valley, even other ski resorts, but he always ended up coming back to the Hotel les Grands Montets which became its favorite holiday destination.
When the hotel’s owners at the time mentioned that they wanted to sell the property, Jean-Sebastien Beslay decided to commit himself to this new adventure and took his first step in the hospitality industry.
In October 2018, he bought the hotel! The finance expert took over the leadership of the alpine chalet and got behind the scenes of such a magical place.
Therefore, with the help of his team, he has kept sharing his passion for the hotel and the mountains, always keeping in mind that the main goal was guests’ satisfaction.
Hence, he tackled renovation works starting with the wellness center, entirely refurbished during spring 2019; then with the hotel’s façade, insulated and covered with a wood siding during fall seasons 2019 and 2020.
If you are fortunate enough, you might meet him while you are staying at the hotel as he keeps spending his holidays there. Quite talkative, he will be happy to have a cup of tea and discuss with you, also listen to your suggestions as he cares about your experience.
Now that we counted our story, time has come to start yours; our house is your home! The hotel near Geneva and Chamonix now offers a total of 40 rooms, including 3 suites overlooking Mont-Blanc, 3 family suites, 7 duplex rooms which are ideal for families and 27 Classic and Mountain Spirit rooms.

FAMILY ROOMS
For unforgettable family holidays in a traditional 4 star chalet, only a few steps from the Grands Montets ski field, come and discover our Mountain Spirit Duplex .
Both children and parents will be delighted with our lovely duplex rooms; they are ideally designed for families who will feel at home in the cosy atmosphere of a mountain hut.
With a surface area of approximately 35m², these family rooms are designed over two floors : on the lower floor stands a double room and a bathroom with bath, toilets and balcony. On the upper floor is the second room with two single beds, a washbasin, and toilets. Each space is equipped with its own flatscreen television.
FAMILY SUITES
Discover Chamonix Valley as a family and enjoy the comfort of a luxury hotel couple with independence of a private and fully-eqquiped suite. The Family Suites were designed in 2014 with a touch of modernity.
Each Family Suite offers a different atmosphere : 112, 115, 118. Find a “nature” atmosphere in 118 whereas the Suite 112 reminds us of the Canadian rocky mountains and 115, perfectly reflects modernity which combines design and old wood and fabrics.
Each Suite has a size if 55 to 60m². They have 2 ensuite bedrooms and a large lounge – dining area. The Parent’s bedroom has a double bed and a bathroom with a bathtub.
The children’s bedroom has 2 single beds and a shower room. The living room is located between the 2 bedrooms and it is fully equipped for cooking simple meals.
A ROMANTIC SUITE
Our Mont Blanc suites are composed of a living room equiped with a sofa bed, a balcony overlooking the Chamonix valley and the Mont-Blanc, a bathroom with a bath and toilet on the lower floor, and a bedroom on the upper floor with an open bathroom including a whirlpool bath and separate toilets.
DINING
We do not have any restaurant in the hotel but we serve few snacks at the bar such as jars made by a partner caterer, cheese and cured meat platters, pizzas. We will be happy to suggest you nice restaurants in the village of Argentière, 10 minutes walking distance, or in Chamonix center, 10 minutes drive.
We suggest several restaurants and have their menus at your disposal in the lobby. We will be pleased to take care of your reservations.
The Chalet’s lounge
There is a lovely cosy atmosphere in this warm sitting room which is nestled around a big central open fireplace : you will certainly not be able to resist the calling of a comfortable armchair and a coffee or a hot chocolate by the fire after a long day’s skiing or hiking. It is a nice place to relax, read, or perhaps enjoy a board game with your family or friends.
The Bar
In a more modern spirit, the bar is open everyday until 10.30pm. It has a pool table, high tables and stools. It is for the exclusive use of our clients, ensuring peace and tranquility. Come and enjoy a homemade cocktail whilst looking out on the snowy peaks or starry skies !
The buffet breakfast
Breakfast is served from 7.30am to 10am in an authentic setting, a chalet style, terracotta tiled room with large bay windows looking out on Mont-Blanc.
You can sample a range of local produce (homemade jams, cured meats and local cheeses) as well as the more classic French baguette, croissants, yoghurt, cereals, etc. from a buffet arranged on a variety of rustic platters, creating an impression of a glorious farmers spread from days gone by.

During the Summer season you can make the most of our large wooden terrace which opens up onto a 2000 square metre garden. Let yourself be tempted by a nap facing the Mont-Blanc or a soccer game with your children.
SWIMMING POOL AND SPA
The Grands Montets chalet hotel accommodation is one of the best hotels with swimming pool in the Chamonix area.
Regardless of the season and the weather outside, you will be pleased to have a splash in the warm water of our heated indoor swimming pool while enjoying the breathtaking landscapes of the Mont Blanc massif.
For your comfort and tranquility, our swimming pool is exclusively reserved for our guests. The heated indoor pool (10m x 5m) is open daily from 7.00am to 9pm.
Come for an invigorating swim to wake up before breakfast or to relax your muscles after a long hike! Discover also our spa and jacuzzi area to unwind during your winter or summer holidays.

Accommodation close to the ski resorts.
If you’re a fan of skiing, the first step when looking at Chamonix flats and hotels is to consider which ski areas and slopes are likely to offer the most fun and easy access to Mont Blanc. This will save you a lot of trouble.
If you want to live close to the Chamonix ski resort, a hotel in the vast Chamonix valley will certainly do. This part of town will also suit non-skiers, simply because it is served by public transport and most hotels offer free transport for tourists staying there.
As for amenities, everyone who comes to Chamonix will want to ski. Therefore, please ensure that your hotel is close to the ski resorts and also to the ski schools if you are travelling with your family.
This will avoid having to cross the resort in ski boots while carrying two pairs of skis with your children! Also consider the proximity of the local swimming pool and sports centre for those coming with children, as this will keep them entertained after a day on the slopes.
And as you also need to relax, consider accommodation near a spa for a good massage or to soak your aching muscles in a hot bath after a few hours of snowboarding.
