Charlotte Dietl
Charlotte is a very warm-hearted person. She’s the true soul of the hotel, and always on hand for our guests. She’s also a fount of knowledge on the history of the Val Venosta and the world of herbs and wild flowers.
She’ll tell you that what you thought was an insignificant plant actually possesses very special healing properties. Charlotte will also advise you about the best hiking trails in and around the Val Venosta : places where you’ll find wonderful alpine plants, and much more besides!
Johanna Dietl
Johanna was born into the hotel business, and carries out her work with real enthusiasm, a feeling she also manages to convey to her guests.
After completing her studies in Konstanz, on the lake of the same name, she returned to her parents’ hotel in Laces, where she’s in charge of hospitality and marketing. She brought considerable expertise to the business, with a degree in Health and Tourism Management, and a Master’s in Marketing Management.

WINE CELLAR & TASTINGS
In our vaulted cellar, built some 900 years ago, you’ll be treated to top-quality wines from South Tyrol and Italy, rare vintages and interesting tips from connoisseurs.

CYCLING AND MOUNTAIN BIKING
The Val Venosta has the largest network of cycle paths and trails in all the Alps. Mountain bikers, racing cyclists and leisure riders have long known that they can enjoy their favourite activity here from the beginning of March to the end of November.
The area enjoys a good climate, and the 300-km cycle network between Resia and Merano offers routes to suit everyone: from beginners and lovers of leisure cycling, to experienced and ambitious sportsmen, and professional or racing cyclists.
EXCURSIONS AROUND LACES IN THE VAL VENOSTA
When your heart is full of joy, you know you’re on the right track. During your stay at our hotel for hikers in the Val Venosta, you can go on some wonderful excursions to explore the local area.
In spring and autumn, we recommend the paths along the irrigation channels on Mount Sole, where hikers can enjoy the fact that there’s no snow from March to November!
On the other hand, in summer, it’s better to head to higher altitudes, including the area around Mount Tramontana, with its cool slopes covered by shady forests.
To the top, on the chairlift
Give your car a holiday too: the chairlift will take you straight to the heart of a real natural paradise for hikers! With amazing scenic views, landscapes of great contrasts and natural beauty as far as the eye can see: the trail network covers an area up to a height of 3,905 metres. There’s something for everyone here! You can enjoy a wonderful feeling of freedom.
The San Martino in Monte cable car takes you straight up onto Monte Sole and to the mountain village of the same name, situated at a height of about 1,740 metres. This is the starting point for various scenic circuits and hikes, high-altitude excursions and wonderful cycling trails.
The Malga Tarres chairlift takes you up to the alpine pastures of Tarres and Laces on Mount Tramontana: a popular hiking area at a height of about 2,000 metres. You can enjoy the idyllic natural surrounding with a walk through the pastures, a trip to Lake Tarres, or a hike on the Gran Ladro.
For a true mountain adventure: our mountain farm in the Val Martello
Built some 400 years ago, our mountain farm is right in the heart of the beautiful Stelvio National Park, surrounded by meadows with wild plants and flowers. Our Eberhöfl farmhouse has traditional stone walls and beams, stoves built of stone and original tiling.
The farmhouse complex has been in our family for about 30 years, and is protected as a special cultural asset. We have carefully preserved it in its original state, maintaining its traditional appearance and special atmosphere for future generations.
In summer and autumn, we offer weekly guided tours to our farm, with the opportunity for a pleasant break and the chance to cook together as a group!
