When envisaging Plage Palace , Guy and Jean-Louis Costes sought to pay homage to the beach of their childhood, which stretches from Palavas to Carnon, by establishing a hotel “par excellence.”

The simple pleasures of a seaside holiday come together with the sleek comfort and understated luxury of truly modern architecture and design. The two-story structure of white cubes that gently curves between the private beach and hotel gardens were designed by Buttazzoni & Associates.

The rooms and beach area are the inspiration of Imaad Rahmouni, and the restaurant and lounge decor are the work of François-Joseph Graf. Located five minutes from the Montpellier Airport and its new high-speed train station, Plage Palace is easily accessible from all major cities in France and Europe.

On the hotel’s private beach, deck chairs and club sofas overlook the welcoming Mediterranean Sea, which beckons you to swim until November. Two outdoor bars serve continuously, day and night. Kitesurfing, paddleboarding, or bike tours give rhythm to the more athletic guests’ days.

In the vicinity of the hotel, guests can discover the “other” South of France, the Occitan region, mysterious and proud of its untamed nature and regional customs.

Montpellier, a city with a rich history going back a thousand years, offers a unique heritage, each century has left its imprint for the visitors’ pleasure. In the evening, the outdoor terraces fill, and the narrow, winding streets remain lively deep into the night.

To the east of the hotel, the Petite Camargue offers unique landscapes and unusual wildlife: bulls, white horses and flamingos.

Magnificent sunsets are reflected in the immense mirrors of the salt marshes. Several inns and starred restaurants throughout the area offer the region’s unique specialties, where sea and countryside meet

ROOMS & SUITES
Nestled in the white cubes that form the building, each of the 72 rooms and suites at Plage Palace was designed and decorated by Imaad Rahmouni.

In each room, a large bay window opens on to a private terrace that overlooks either the Mediterranean Sea or the hotel gardens, where pine trees, warmed by the sun, diffuse their fresh pine scent.

Inspired by America’s East Coast beach cottages, the rooms’ decor combines noble materials with a soft, matte texture. White plays delicately with beige and gray to give the space an airy elegance.

No detail has been left to chance to guarantee guests’ comfort. A large flat screen faces the bed whose thick mattresses topped with signature Bergan sheets treat you to a well-deserved rest.

The bathrooms feature wooden paneling and are fitted with a large freestanding bathtub as well as a walk-in shower in grey Portuguese stone tile.

Each guest will discover a personal bathrobe and signature Costes bath products designed by perfumer Olivia Giacobetti. Room service and reception are available to assist guests both day and night.

OCEAN SIDE
Forty junior suites with terrace from 50 to 60 square meters with a view of the white sand beach and the majestic Mediterranean blue as far as the eye can see.

GARDEN SIDE
Twenty-six rooms with terrace from 25 to 40 square meters overlook the vast pine forest of the hotel grounds, whose various essences diffuse their wild and delicate fragrances. Two luxury apartments with terraces, each 150 square meters, overlook the sea and the garden.

THE RESTAURANT
A spacious room with nuances of gold, slate, and midnight blue, large semi-circular seats, resembling ships ready to depart, François-Joseph Graf imagined a heavenly and magical setting for the Plage Palace restaurant.

Each table in the restaurant is imbued with its own identity and its own fabrics. A large low table awaits those who prefer to dine in front of the hotel’s grand fireplace, where the fire is kept crackling day and night.

Through the bay windows, the Mediterranean, like an immense living painting, unveiling its shades: azure in the day, pink in the evening, and at night, ink blue, where the silver reflections of the moon dance.

An ample terrace of wood flooring welcomes those who wish to be as close as possible to this marine backdrop. The menu offers a Mediterranean version of great classics from “La Maison Costes.”

Tuna or lobster Belle Niçoise, fried calamari, sole, and red mullet fillets, all locally sourced. For dessert, among the specialties, you can find the famous pavlova or Igor’s Mont-Blanc. The restaurant and its terrace are open for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and all night.

SPA PALACE
Plage Palace welcomes you to a 500 m² spa dedicated to relaxation, body regeneration, and beauty. The decoration was entrusted to Francois-Joseph Graf.

The spacious lounge, overlooking the Mediterranean and embellished with rare plants, offers its guests peace of mind. You can relax on the chaise-longues topped with thick felt cushions, where our team serves herbal teas and refreshments.

The lounge leads to the two spa hammams, in which the black rock walls are adorned in mosaics. When stepping out to the beach, bubbling and maintained at 35°C, the large exterior pool offers deep relaxation.

The most athletic can train in the fitness center alone or with help from a coach. Swimmers will find the 27m pool with its clear water just a few meters from the spa.

The spa boasts a wide selection of treatments that all start with a deep relaxation ritual with essential oils. According to their desires, guests can choose between body, face, and scalp massages offered by our team of professionals.

A large variety of skin treatments but also hairdressing, manicure, and pedicure services can be reserved. For all the treatments, the spa uses products by the Italian brand Comfort Zone, which uses ingredients only of natural origin.

POOL
Open between 9 am and 8 pm, the 27m pool is in a world apart. The pool is accessed by passing by traditional wooden fences that are typical of Camargue beaches, which offer a calm, semi-open shelter for swimming and rest.

A staircase leads down a gentle slope into the 27 meters of clear water, kept at a constant 28 degrees. The bottom of the pool is of the color of sand and gives the swimmer the impression of swimming in a lagoon.

On each side of the pool, large wooden deckchairs topped with thick mattresses await under ample canvas parasols. Guests can have a cocktail, a glass of wine, or one of the dishes on the menu until closing.

THE BEACH
In front of the hotel, a boardwalk passes between the tamarisks and the traditional wooden beach fence, leading you to the private beach area, designed and decorated by Imaad Ramounhi.

Six rows of comfortable deck chairs and deep armchairs aligned in the white sand slope gently towards the sea. The white and beige tones of the cushions and parasols play delicately with the color of the sand, in contrast with the intense blue of the Mediterranean.

The generous space that separates each set of deck chairs and their thick comfortable mattresses guarantees each guest or family peace and privacy. The private beach is a world unto itself.

At either end, under the wooden beach huts, the two bars offer shade during the day, gentle warmth in the evening, and signature light beats created, especially for Plage Palace can be heard. All day or night, the bartenders offer you the mixology classics as well as their exclusive creations.

The beach menu, conceived by Jean-Louis Costes, presents simple dishes, perfect for a Mediterranean holiday. Seasonal salads, fresh melon, or the hotel’s unbeatable cheese and tomato pizza are prepared upon request and served seaside, any time, day or night.

Time is not measured by the hour on the private beach. Plage Palace doesn’t sleep as long as guests desire to spend their evening by the sea.

THE NIGHT
Should just one of its guests wish to extend the night, Plage Palace does not sleep. After sunset, when the light of the moon begins its silver dance on the surface of the waves, candles are lit on the tables, and the soft rhythms composed for the hotel become smoother, and the ambiance is transformed.

The interior of the hotel bathes in the warm, intimate light. In front of the fireplace, at one of the restaurant tables or on the terrace, guests are served into the night.

At the bar, the great mixology classics, exclusive Plage Palace cocktails, or tailor-made creations are prepared throughout the night, according to the desires of each guest.

The private beach and its two huts welcome night owls who wish to linger by the sea to share a drink, snack, or dance. The beach bars do not close as long as our guests have the appetite to continue through the night in front of the waves.

Relaxing tranquillity or a marine party, each guest must live their dream at Plage Palace. The rooms are far enough away from the huts so that the euphoria of some does not disturb the sleep of others.
