Gorgeous Weather
No matter the weather, every day seems perfect when you are vacationing in beautiful Jamaica. If the weather forecast you see for Ocho Rios shows rain, please do not worry. Most often those showers, or “liquid sunshine,” are located in the hills high above the town so it often remains sunny at Jamaica Inn.

Having such wonderful weather so often is the reason dinner at Jamaica Inn is served alfresco on the terrace beneath a blanket of stars and accompanied by the tunes of our live Jamaican band.

Legendary history
Marilyn Monroe and Arthur Miller toasted their honeymoon here. Ian Fleming, the creator of James Bond, sipped martinis at the bar. Noel Coward, Errol Flynn, Katherine Hepburn, and many more greats often graced the lounge and retreated to our spacious accommodations.

While more than 60 years have passed, the experience, setting, and many of the staff at Jamaica Inn remain the same.

  • Friendly staff discreetly attend to your every need.
  • Carter is the resident croquet expert, often found challenging guests on the court.
  • Relaxation and romance quietly reign without any intrusion in our Jamaica accommodations.
  • The beach, one of the finest in Jamaica and the Caribbean, is always uncrowded.

Planning your Jamaica vacation
Jamaica Inn is located on a pristine crescent-shaped beach in Ocho Rios. The breathtaking Jamaica landscape is diverse — from long stretches of soft sand and cerulean blue seas to 120 natural rivers, steep cliffs, dramatic coasts, lush mountains and the highest peak at 7,402 feet (2,256 meters) above sea level.

A Jamaica vacation offers something for everyone. Relax in the comfort of our boutique beach hotel. Seek out adventures on land and sea. Explore the island’s vibrant culture and rich history.

Make your Jamaica vacation complete by tasting our famous Jerk spice, sipping a cup of Blue Mountain coffee and listening to our world-famous Reggae music. With three international airports, it’s easy to travel to Jamaica.

Nine Mile
Did you know that our great reggae artiste was born in the hills of St. Ann, the same parish that Jamaica Inn is located in? The Bob Marley Mausoleum is located in Nine Mile and is managed by members of Marley’s family.

This popular attraction has many historical artifacts including guitars, awards and photographs. Nine Mile is where Bob Marley’s musical career began and also influenced many of his songs.

Another highlight is the Rasta-colored “rock pillow” on which Marley laid his head when seeking inspiration. Pay your respects to him here at his burial site.

Blue Mountain Bicycle Tour
Travel in style to a starting point atop Blue Mountain. Enjoy a leisurely downhill bike ride through tropical rainforest, home to hundreds of species of birds and blossoming plant life. View the world famous Blue Mountain coffee plantations. Finish your tour with a cool dip in a waterfall.

Noël Coward’s Firefly
Located in St. Mary (about a twenty minute drive out of Ocho Rios heading to the Eastern side of the island towards Port Antonio), Firefly is perched up on a hillside with the most magnificent views of the coast.

This must have been the motive for Noël Coward to immediately take interest in the land and build what would become an enchanting winter home to sojourn with famous friends, royalty (yes the Queen Mother once stopped by for lunch and drinks!) and to write his plays from time to time.

Noël fell in love with Jamaica and the people while visiting his good friend, Ian Fleming (writer of the James Bond novels) just nearby at Goldeneye in 1948. Over the years, the “celebrity set” visited Coward often at his Jamaica home and included Elizabeth Taylor, Sean Connery and Laurence Olivier.

Noël Coward passed away in 1973 and was buried in the garden on the property. Today, the property is owned and managed by Chris Blackwell of Island Outpost whose mother was good friends with Coward. Firefly is open to the public for tours where one will be able to view the picture gallery, house and garden.

River Tubing
Cool off while relaxing heading down the white river. Here you get to enjoy some real Jamaican nature with just a few rapids to keep you on your toes. White River Valley also offers River Kayaking, Dune Buggy Adventures & Zipline Canopy.

Glass Bottom Boat Tour
Get up close and personal with Caribbean Sea life and experience the colorful coral reefs, tropical fish and other marine life. Take a firsthand look at our coral nursery which is all a part of our Jamaica Inn Foundation efforts.

Find out how you can help support the Foundation in protecting our sea turtles and achieving its goal to achieve 500 times more fish in 5 years. Sign up with the front desk or feel free to book your tour in advance with any one of our reservationists.

Mystic Mountain
Mystic Mountain is a rain forest adventure park located just 10 minutes away from Jamaica Inn and is one of the most popular attractions in Ocho Rios. The adventure park is a great way to see Ocho Rios from an incredible vantage point.

This environmentally friendly attraction, located in the heart of Ocho Rios, is only 5 minutes away from the cruise ship pier or Dunn’s River Falls, offers a unique array of adventure tours for all ages. Explore the forest’s rich ecosystem, sparkling river streams or simply enjoy stunning views of the city.

Konoko Falls
Nestled in the hills of St. Ann overlooking the resort area of Ocho Rios, Konoko Falls is known as one of the island’s best kept secrets. Konoko Falls is only 10 minutes from the Inn and offers multiple activities great for couples and families including: botanical gardens, waterfalls, Jamaican artifact museum and a zoo.

Climb and swim in the falls with an experienced tour guide, and stop along the way at the bar for a refreshing drink.

Shop and Cook Tour
Journey with Jamaica Inn’s Executive Chef on a Friday as he stops by one of his most favorite places in Ocho Rios – the local Farmer’s Market which is located a few minutes away from the hotel.

Chef Maurice usually ‘checks out’ the weekly offerings of fruit, vegetables and organic fresh herbs available at the Market…sip fresh coconut water as you are given a special insider’s “Farmer’s Market Tour” of Chef’s very favourite Farmer stands.

After the shopping, head back to the hotel to get ready to see what Chef has in mind for cooking that day. Enjoy a cooking demo/class and glean how Chef uses the purchases from the Market to whip up a delightful “Jamaican style” dish…help to prepare, ask questions and sample the food.

The recipe will be formatted and signed by Chef for you to take home and try.

The Jamaica Inn Foundation
The Jamaica Inn Foundation is a non-profit organization providing education and well-being support to our island youth and aiding with the ongoing preservation of our marine environs.

The Jamaica Inn Foundation helps support Debate Mate, the Oracabessa Bay Turtle Project and the White River Fish Sanctuary Project. We’re working together for a better world so that the future is even brighter than the present.

White River Fish Sanctuary
Since the 1970s, a combination of causes due to severe weather events, over fishing and sea urchin disease has led to an 85% reduction in coral coverage in the waters outside of Ocho Rios. In addition, there has been a decrease in the size and quantity of fish by 600%.

In 2016, fishermen turned to Jamaica Inn for help. After two years and lots of hard work, we are pleased to announce the White River Fish Sanctuary is now in operation, largely funded and facilitated by the Jamaica Inn Foundation.

Oracabessa Bay Turtle Project
Working to monitor and protect the endangered hawksbill sea turtles, The Oracabessa Bay Turtle Project’s huge success has resulted in more than 100 nests and 16,000 hatchlings being recorded yearly.

Project supervisor Mr. Mel Tennant works with our hotel to record data of nest hatchlings. Many Jamaica Inn guests have witnessed the turtle hatchlings right here on our beach.

Teddy Tucker Scholarship Fund
The Jamaica Inn Family continues to celebrate the life and legacy of our dearly beloved Herbert Tucker affectionately known as ‘Teddy” who was taken away from us in March 2020. Teddy has been the rock and foundation at the Inn for the past 62 years.

In honor of Teddy, Jamaica Inn in tandem with The Jamaica Inn Foundation will be starting the Teddy Tucker Scholarship Fund, a non-profit fund dedicated to helping Jamaican families provide the necessary skills, training and education for their children who wish to pursue a career in the Tourism and Hospitality Industry.

Turtle Calendar
Jamaica Inn is lucky to have Hawksbill turtles nest and hatch on our beach every summer. If you have never witnessed a mother turtle come ashore and dig a nest to lay her eggs, or helped tiny turtle hatchlings make their way to the sea, this is an experience you won’t want to miss.

Below is a calendar of when these gentle giants have nested and the expected hatchling dates to help you plan your vacation around this magical experience. Please note, hatchings are dependent upon mother nature. These turtle release dates are subject to change.
