Le Pavillon de la Reine, Hotel & Spa Paris Marais, In a 17th century building tucked away from the galleries and shops of the Place des Vosges, which was built in 1612 by King Henry IV of France.

The hotel’s name is a nod to the building’s history, in honour of Queen Anne of Austria who once stayed in one of the wings. While the Place des Vosges was once the centre of high society in Paris, today, Le Marais shines as one of Paris’ most exciting quartiers – with Pavillon de la Reine at its heart.

Set back from the Place des Vosges – often referred to as the most beautiful square in the world – Pavillon de la Reine is a true haven, with a wonderful sense of place, in the heart of Le Marais, Paris’ oldest quartier.

Privately owned and family-run, it offers the understated sophistication of a private home with all the service, charm and elegance of a grand palace.

The historical setting is retained in the design by Didier Benderli of Kérylos Interiors, with a brilliant mix of rich, contemporary interiors and original antique furnishings and oil paintings. The hotel’s 56 bedrooms and suites is embellished with its distinctive façade and a private courtyard garden, awash with greenery.

THE MARAIS DISTRICT

The oldest quartier in Paris, dating back to the 17th century, Le Marais is a lively and trendy area that combines old-world charm and modern-day creativity in the French capital.

Among its cobblestone streets and hidden courtyards, are wonderful boutiques, galleries, fascinating museums, atmospheric cafes and restaurants to be discovered.

The only hotel on the Place des Vosges, Pavillon de la Reine Hotel & Spa is just a short stroll from the Musée Picasso, the Musée Carnavalet, Place de la Bastille and the shops of the rue des Francs-Bourgeois.

SUITE DE LA REINE

Suite de la Reine is Pavillon de la Reine’s most spacious suite, spanning 860 square feet. Positioned at the corner of the building, the suite has large double aspect windows and a spectacular high ceiling which flood the suite with plenty of bright Parisian light.

Suite de la Reine is characterised by exquisite design details: original 17th century Versailles parquet flooring, a handcrafted chandelier specially commissioned from Alexandre Logé for the suite and gold touches. An antique fireplace dating from the 17th century, typical of Le Marais, gives a nod to the history of the area.

Meanwhile, antique touches are deftly combined with contemporary furnishings by designer Didier Benderli from Kerylos Intérieurs.

The marble bathroom has a neutral colour palette with mustard yellow highlights as well as underfloor heating – bringing the suite up to date with a deeply luxurious feel. A separate dressing room as well as an open shower in the bedroom add a touch of further decadence.
