The house is set in 40 acres of manicured gardens, encompassing a large kitchen garden, woodland walks, lake and fowl reserve, lawns and herbaceous borders. The interior bears all the signs of a much loved house filled with fresh flowers, gleaming antiques and mirrors, blazing fires and period paintings.

Marlfield House offers excellent small banqueting and conference facilities and is a beautiful setting for a romantic luxurious country wedding. The house also hosts a number of events such as Sunday recitals and classical concerts throughout the year.

ROOMS & SUITES
All 18 of the bedrooms in the manor house are uniquely decorated with rich fabrics and elegant furnishings and have marble bathrooms, king or twin sized beds and many overlook the garden or the lake.

There are a host of rooms to choose from ranging from Cosy Standard and Classic Rooms on the first and second floors which are reached by stairs as Marlfield does not have a lift. The Junior State and State Rooms, or our master bedroom, The Print Suite are all located on the ground floor.

They are furnished with carefully chosen antiques and paintings and have Floris toiletries, Frette linen, oversized bathrobes with slippers, Hairdryers, Trouser press, Iron & Ironing Board, Wi-Fi, flat screen TV’s, radios. Bottled water and fresh fruit await guests on arrival.

MASTER SUITE
The elegant and stately master suite is beautifully decorated with stippled turquoise walls, set with striking black and white classical decoupage prints and garlands. The walls are adorned with paintings and prints and the room contains fine antiques including an Empire sofa in coral and dining table.

It overlooks the Knot garden where guests can sit and enjoy breakfast, afternoon tea or a cocktail or perhaps dine beside the blazing fire. The king size gilded and padded bed is set in an alcove and is strewn with cushions and white linen. A panelled octagonal dressing room leads to the elegant marble bathroom with large jacuzzi bath, walk in shower and twin sinks.

STATE ROOMS
Our State rooms offer the ultimate in luxury. All are large with a separate seating area featuring a period marble fireplace with gas fire and large marble bathrooms. All have views of the gardens or the lake.

The antiques and furnishings in these rooms have been thoughtfully selected by the Bowe family over decades and they truly reflect an era of gracious living. The State bedrooms are handsome bedrooms with very fine drapes and furnishings. All three are completely different in style and décor and will please the most discerning guest.

JUNIOR STATE ROOMS
The junior state rooms are beautifully decorated with rich fabrics and fine antique furniture. The gilded period French furniture, artwork, mirrors and lavish fabrics make this room distinctly French. This bedroom has king size or twin beds and an elegant marble bathroom with double sinks and very large window overlooking the lake. French doors lead to a circular terrace.

CLASSIC ROOMS
The Classic Rooms are very comfortable rooms furnished with carefully chosen fabrics and have marble bathrooms and smart furnishings. They are on the ground, 1st and 2nd floor of the house and provide varied views over the gardens and courtyard. The classic rooms are standard in size with classical antique finishes.

POND SUITES
The recently launched Pond Suites are located overlooking the pond, in a lush, wooded setting of mature oak trees and ferns. Encompassing large open plan interiors of 50m2, with patio doors onto a private terrace, they are the epitome of a modern, luxurious country house experience, in the most private of settings.

From the woodland and russet colours of The Fox, exotic greens and blues of The Peacock, the striking Blue Heron and The White Heron, each has its own distinctive character. A large bathroom with a free-standing bath sits under a round picture window, walk-in shower, double sinks & separate WC.

You will experience plush, luxe interiors encompassing eclectic & bespoke furnishings & modern amenities & fittings. THE LODGE
The Lodge is a recently renovated luxurious contemporary two bedroom cottage with mini bars, open plan kitchen and living area with open fire, multi channel TV’s and WiFi.

Room service menus from Marlfield House and The Duck Restaurant are offered your comfort and pleasure. A fantastic way for friends or family to enjoy Marlfield, its grounds and restaurants and the surrounding area.

DINING
Marlfield’s reputation was built on its food much of which is grown in the garden and surrounding area. Fresh herbs, vegetables and fruits grow abundantly and are gathered daily. Wexford fish and shellfish, Spring lamb, beef, local cheeses and Wexford Summer berries feature very strongly on all the menus.

Offering everything from Afternoon Tea in the charming elegance of the Drawing Room, lunch in the Library, the fine dining dinner and Sunday lunch menu in the Conservatory to the less formal dining offering in the stylish and casual environment of The Duck Restaurant and its south facing terrace.

THE DUCK TERRACE RESTAURANT, CAFE’ & BAR
The Duck Terrace Restaurant & Café is located in restored courtyard buildings including a coach house, potting shed and gardener’s tool shed situated on the grounds of Marlfield House just outside Gorey.

The restaurant is located in a long stone building with French doors opening onto a sandstone terrace overlooking the kitchen garden filled with vegetables, soft fruits, a plethora of herbs and beds of blooming roses!

Recently named Atmospheric Restaurant of the Year 2017 by Georgina Campbell’s Ireland Guide and Restaurant of the Year 2017 by at South East Radio Hospitality Awards, The Duck offers a unique dining experience in a casual setting.

The space comprises a relaxed restaurant with a blazing fire, café bar and glasshouse with views of the manor house and garden and also a sandstone terrace for alfresco coffees, pastries, cocktails, lunch or dinner. A unique relaxed dining experience enjoyed by friends and family day and night throughout the year on the grounds of this lovely country house.

Our talented chefs cook using fresh and exciting ingredients from our garden and the locality. Food is modern fusion and Italian and is best described as delicious and moreish. Light dishes including antipasti, flatbreads and dips, exciting salads, steaks, fish and much more.

CONSERVATORY RESTAURANT
The cuisine at the Conservatory Restaurant is best described as classical with French and Mediterranean influence. Dining in the flower-filled Turner style conservatory overlooking the garden with its frescoed walls and sparking silver is a truly memorable experience.

Much of the ingredients are grown in our extensive kitchen gardens with vegetables, herbs and fruits gathered daily and prepared with care by our team of chefs. Local produce including Wexford beef and lamb, Dunmore East fish and Irish cheeses all feature strongly on our daily menus.

The impeccable quality and ambience of the restaurant consistently earns The Conservatory Restaurant at Marlfield House its place among Ireland’s finest dining experiences. Our seasonal five-course dinner is served from 6 to 9 pm.

And the traditional Sunday lunch menu featuring Kilmore Quay crab, Dublin Bay prawns, roast fillet of Wexford beef, Black Sole to mention a few specialities is served every Sunday from 12.30 to 3pm.

AFTERNOON TEA
The elegant and gracious surroundings of Marlfield House lends itself to relaxing over our delicious Afternoon Tea. As the residence of the Earls of Courtown, in its day Marlfield welcomed the gentry in their pursuit of leisure. The Bowe family have maintained the traditions of country pursuits and today guests can enjoy the luxury accommodations of the house and a host of activities.

We also have a croquet lawn and tennis court on the grounds and many different breeds of duck and geese and black swans on the lake. Marlfield House is convenient located in North Wexford and is a perfect base for exploring Ireland’s Ancient East, especially Wicklow & Wexford.

County Wexford is famous for its long white sandy beaches, pretty fishing villages, abbeys and castles and lush rolling countryside, the Sunny South East is awaiting discovery.

GOLF
Marlfield House Hotel is located close to many well-known Golf Clubs, which include the following: Courtown 5 minutes, The European, Woodenbridge and Enniscorthy 25 minutes, Arklow 15 minutes, Druid’s Glen and Wexford Golf Club 45 minutes, St Helen’s Bay 55 minutes and Mount Juliet 1¼ hours. Others Golf courses in the area include Faithlegg Golf Club, Charlesland Golf Club and Blainroe. We will be happy to arrange tee times for our guests.

Archery & Laser Pigeon Shooting
