Mio Buenos Aires was born of the idea of bringing the spirit of wine from Mendoza to Buenos Aires. Its owners, descendants of a family of Italian immigrants, fourth generation wine-makers, and above all wine lovers, wanted to bring the grape’s transformation journey from Mendoza, held in the grain of the family winery barrels.
These can be found in the doors of Mio Buenos Aires. The grape and its wine are part of our biography, our children’s upbringing, our admiration for the vineyards, and our love of their end produce. Wine is in every corner of Mio Buenos Aires and its history.
The most intimate and elegant of warm welcomes is given to guests by offering a taste of the best and most exclusive wines from Mendoza. These are selected and cataloged in the wine cellars of the Verdot wine bar.
Mio Buenos Aires combines great luxury and service, and tops it off with this undying union with wine. It brings the best of Mendoza to the city, offering an experience that stays in the memory, just like an Argentine Malbec.
BATHTUBS MADE OF WOOD
Bathtubs were created by Mario Dasso, a talented Argentinean whose art consists in engraving nature. Mario says he doesn’t select his tree, but prefers to get deep into the land and let himself be surprised. He listens to that inner voice that guides him, the same voice that his ancestors -the Mapuche Indian tribes- used to hear.
It is then when the wood would come to him to find that amazing calden waiting for him. The artist works with dead trees. In La Pampa, the story goes that when a calden tree dies, it does no longer watch nature but starts narrating its story.
This Pampa artist does not choose the trees, the trees find him. He does not choose the final work; he goes for it. Every artwork is unique and has a message. Every Mio Buenos Aires bathtub has been meticulously engraved by Mr. Dasso.
DOORS MADE FROM WINE BARRELS
Mio Buenos Aires doors are made of wine barrels made of pure French oak, on which the streaks marking the wine path, their poise and work dedication stands out. They seal the everlasting connection between Mio Buenos Aires and wine.
THE BREAKFAST
The buffet breakfast: as always, gourmet, natural, and delicious. Sliced and whole fresh fruits, organic honey, cheese board, delicious Argentine bakery, cereals, eggs, and hot options. We also have a health bar with kefir, almond milk and creamer, buffalo yogurt, coconut water, and red fruits.
VERDOT WINE BAR
From the Petit Verdot grape, originating in Bordeaux. The soil of that land creates wines, and the Petit Verdot grape is generally used in their production due to its sturdy structure and strong color.
However, in recent times it has been used to create a wine in its own right, giving origin to wines of great character and elegant finish, achieving an exotic profile that leaves nobody indifferent. This is the inspiration behind the creation of the Verdot Wine Bar.
An impressive wine cellar of climate-controlled wines, four meters long by three meters high, containing approximately 170 labels, is the main character of the bar. The warm lighting and green velvet seats evoke the natural origins of the vineyards, setting the mood for the space.
These colors bring a modern, sophisticated touch to the tables, made from upcycled casks giving each one its individual tone. The bar, the private tables and the tasting tables, offer each guest an exclusive space to enjoy the cuisine, the cocktails and the wines from Verdot Wine Bar.
Deserving special mention is the exclusive open-air patio, where one shares a space with the sound of a waterfall and the freshness of nature, right at the heart of the city.
KITCHEN & COCKTAIL BAR
An exquisite gastronomic selection of tapas, boards and small dishes composed of diligently selected and carefully prepared ingredients. These elements are an invitation to stay a little longer. Accompanying the creation of Verdot Wine Bar with their designs and menus are:
- Pablo Buzzo, distinguished chef specializing in Patagonian cuisine, developer of the Fin del Mundo brand, owner of the Torino restaurant in San Martín de los Andes, and executive chef for Bodegas del Fin del Mundo, designs Verdot’s gastronomic menu, and works with us to select wineries.
- Tato Giovannoni, world-renowned and multi award-winning bartender, creator and owner of the Florería Atlántico (#5 in the World’s 50 Best Bars 2021), Chori, Gintorería and Rotisería Atlántico, has designed an exquisite cocktail menu for Verdot Wine Bar.
RUFINO
Rufino is a true reflection of Argentine cuisine. Meat and grilled vegetables are the stars of the table, accompanied by the best Argentinean wine. It tackles the classic dishes, but always with an extra twist, a detail, a colour, an aroma, a seasoning, a flavour, to generate surprise and make us fall in love with them all over again.
The menu was designed by Leo Lanussol, a young and successful chef, well known in the Argentinean gastronomic scene. Rufino awaits you with a proposal where everyone will feel welcome.
8TH SPA RECOLETA
A hidden refuge in the city, located in a private area of MIO BUENOS AIRES that offers all the wellbeing ceremonies that immerse you in a state of deep relaxation. Walls and ceiling covered with black stone from San Luis, reflecting the solar energy on the pool, generate a weak light that provides for the perfect urban retreat for the body and soul.
