Situated on 320 hectares of fertile land in the heart of the Uco Valley, the architecture seems to emerge from the encircling geography, as it is inspired by the topography and exceptional natural resources of the Uco Valley, in Argentina’s Mendoza province.

Natural and noble materials, and minimalist decor that pay the utmost respect to the landscape: Casa de Uco invites guests to experience wine culture in a warm and sophisticated atmosphere.

At the soul of our inviting common areas are the Wine Bar & Lounge, award-winning restaurant, game room, lush living room complete with wood-fire chimney, and outdoor dining spaces with open views of the mountains and vineyards.

At the foundation of the resort, the underground wine cellar stores an impressive selection of the best wines in the region. Casa de Uco Vineyards & Wine Resort is a project conceived and created by the world-renowned architecture firm Alberto Tonconogy & Associates.

FOOD & WINE
Our food honors the land and Uco Valley, driven by the seasonal ingredients grown directly in the organic vegetable garden. To achieve this farm-to-table ideology, we source all ingredients locally, working with neighbors, the local farmers and producers, to create a menu that is 100% Uco Valley, Mendoza inspired.

Our culinary world isn’t just limited to our restaurant. When the sun sets, after a full day of activities, Casa de Uco’s bar is the perfect space to relax and enjoy a drink from our cocktail list. The bar’s cocktail list was especially designed by celebrated bartender Renato Giovannoni, who created signature cocktails with local ingredients.

THE WINERY
Our wines are made with carefully selected grapes from our own vineyards. Feel the Uco Valley in all its dimensions. Each wine strikes a different sense. Join us and taste them all.

All our wines are made from grapes from this geographical indication. The GI Los Chacayes is one of the most prestigious sub-appellations in terms of grape quality, and the birthplace of the best and most awarded Argentine wines.

Our wines are made with indigenous yeasts, achieving the most authentic expression of the grape and staying faithful to the terroir from which they come. Our agronomists define sectors within our vineyard, from which grapes with common properties are obtained, and reflect the specific characteristics of the soil from which they come.

We have the endorsement of IAO (International Agricultural Organization). We are currently certified in 20 hectares of our vineyard. Two years ago we started the process to obtain an organic certification for all of our grape production, which will be approved in 2022. Our philosophy is to produce wines that express the authenticity of their terroir

We work with specialists to study our soils in order to have a better understanding of the different styles of wine that we can produce in the vineyard. The heterogeneous soils, characteristic to Los Chacayes, make it so that the plot and micro-plot selection is very important. Stony soils and sandy soils are fermented in different vats in order for us to identify the diverse styles of wine.

The combination of altitude at 1250 meters above sea level, a semi-desert climate with 330 days of sun per year, warm days, cool nights, alluvial soil with excellent drainage, and the purest aquifer in the region flowing freely to irrigate the vineyards of Casa de Uco, all result in the most ideal conditions for winemaking and grape cultivation in this fantastic area.

Casa de Uco opens the doors of its winery and invites guests to discover wine tourism programs and activities developed to learn all about Viticulture in the Uco Valley.

Learn about the Geology of Wine, its Agronomic design and its multiple possibilities of elaboration. Enjoy the pure expression of unique micro terroirs reflected in the limited editions of the Casa de Uco Portfolio. And explore the Signature Wines of our Private Vineyard Owners.

SUSTAINABILITY
At Casa de Uco we are committed to the environment, and strive to support local communities. Our mission is to provide one of the most authentic and enriching travel experiences in a way that is respectful to the environment, sustainable and culturally rich.

We are committed to preserving and protecting the natural splendor and the precious biodiversity of the Uco Valley. We respect nature, culture and hospitality. Casa de Uco has sealed an eternal commitment to the environment.

RECYCLE
Our waste plan is based on the principle of the three Rs (3R), which prioritizes the reduction, reuse and recycling of waste. With effort and creativity we search for the best destination for each type of waste generated at the hotel.

  • The used paper is given to the bookstore where it is recycled into new usable paper..
  • The glass is removed by the Neighborhood Union of the nearest town: La Quebrada, who sells the glass and donates the money collected to an organization that fights cancer.
  • The corks of the wines are collected and then delivered to a kindergarten where the children use them in their crafts.
  • Food waste produced by the kitchen is used as compost.

SUSTAINABLE ENERGY
The hotel has solar collectors to heat the water, thus consuming less gas when heating it. The hotel also keeps track of the energy consumption to make sure it doesn’t exceed a certain level, especially in areas like the kitchen.

Because we are located in a mountain climate and the weather gets cold in winter, the heating system can be challenging. Casa de Uco has a mixed system of radiators to maintain a stable temperature in the hotel and also a heating system in each room, which can quickly reach a comfortable temperature as soon as the guests arrive.

WATER CONSERVATION
The hotel is located in an arid environment, with annual rainfall of 250 mm. The water used comes from groundwater, so every liter extracted is carefully reserved.

The vineyards have a drip irrigation system and achieve 90% irrigation efficiency. Soil mapping allows the identification of areas with different drainages, and using this information we can map and identify risks of poor drainages to best conserve water.

The Hotel and Winery have an internal wastewater treatment system. The waters, after being treated, irrigate an area of 200 poplars; which help offset carbon dioxide emissions.

THE CUISINE
Casa de Uco has an organic and seasonal menu, and uses local ingredients from our garden and local farmers in the Uco Valley. The hotel has its own organic garden where more than 30 different fruits, vegetables, and herbs are grown throughout the year.

REDUCING OUR IMPACT ON CLIMATE CHANGE
Staff is trained in energy consumption and climate change to raise awareness. We understand that each worker can be responsible to significantly conserve energy.

We encourage our guests to tour the vineyards and move around the property by bike, on foot or on horseback. In the laundry room, a system of reusable cloth bags is utilized in order to reduce the use of plastics from petroleum sources.

ON THE PATH TO BECOMING CARBON NEUTRAL
In our country, 1 hectare of land is destroyed every 3 minutes. Since deforestation is one of the main causes of greenhouse gas emissions (responsible for more GHG emissions than those of all the planes, trains and cars in the world), it is urgent to take action to prevent the advancement of deforestation.

We are committed to reducing and offsetting our CO2 emissions. For this reason, we are donating 10 square meters of native forest in the Misiones jungle for each reservation that is made in Casa de Uco. This way, we will help prevent more CO2 from being emitted into the atmosphere, thus offsetting our impact on the environment.
