It has even been named one of the best hotels in Cornwall by the Times.

A pinnacle point on the Cornish coastline, Padstow is truly a bucket list destination with seven sandy beaches nearby – St George’s Cove is a pleasant 20 minute walk away, Harbour Cove’s sandy shores are simply stunning whilst Daymer Bay is off the beaten track offering a quieter spot to contemplate.

PADSTOW’S BEST WALKS
There’s nothing like a nice walk to get some fresh air, to see the local sights and scenery, to feel good about yourself afterwards, and to reduce your guilt when tucking into a Harbour Hotels afternoon cream tea.

Ask our reception team for a printed map showing the locations and descriptions of our favourite walks in the local area. On request, we can pack you a luxury picnic in an easy-to-carry backpack to eat along the way.

COASTAL SEA SAFARI
Padstow Sealife Safaris offer these highly recommended 2-hour boat trips around the north Cornwall coast in a professionally skippered RIB. You’ll learn about the local history, and may see seals, dolphins, porpoises, and even sunfish or the elusive basking shark during the summer months.

The Cornish coastline also hosts a myriad of seabirds including shags, cormorants, gannets, oystercatchers, shearwaters, fulmars and more. From the months of April to July, the cliffs are teeming with nesting guillemots and razorbills and you will visit “Puffin island” – one of the last places puffins can be found nesting in Cornwall – with the hope of spotting these beautiful birds.

PADSTOW’S BEAST BEACHES
For those craving a day at the beach, Padstow has an abundance of fine sandy beaches close by. We’ve created a map with locations and descriptions of our favourite beaches in the local area. Ask our reception team to print one off for you. We can lend you Harbour Hotels ‘Little luxuries’ for the beach: blankets, windbreaks, fold-up seats, kites to fly, and of course buckets and spades.

LUXURY PIC-NIC
Padstow Harbour Hotel is surrounded by stunning scenery, nature reserves, forests, and golden beaches. What better way to get out and appreciate it – and to relax – than a picnic?

Our chefs have created a special luxury picnic, packed with homemade goodies. Aside from delicious food & drink, on request we’ll also equip you with some Harbour Hotels ‘little luxuries’ for picnics: a picnic blanket, fold-up seats, kites to fly, a boule set, and for the beach: buckets, spades, and a windbreak. If you’re going somewhere near swans and ducks, ask us for a bag of feed.

We’ve created a map showing our recommended picnic locations in the local area. Ask our reception team to print one off for you. And remember – we have a number of bikes you may use if you want to cycle there and back.

FISHING
For those who fancy their hand with a rod and line – or who just want to spend some time on the water, this authentic fishing trip from Padstow Harbour is offered by Emmakate2 – a Padstow fishing boat where the skippers have over 40 years’ experience between them.

If (when?) you catch a fish, you have the option of bringing it back to the hotel to be freshly cooked. Even if you don’t catch anything, it’s a very pleasant few hours out on the water, looking back at the coastline.

All equipment you need is provided but bring warm clothing, even on warm days, as it can be cooler at sea. And remember, on request, we can pack you a luxury half-picnic to take with you in a backpack.

CRABBING & ROCK POOLING
If you’re visiting with kids, crabbing and rock pooling is a must. It’s a brilliant, family-friendly activity that gets you and the family out in the great outdoors, and helps encourage an appreciation for wildlife in our children. There are some excellent sites close to the hotel.

We’ll lend you crabbing lines, nets, buckets and even fold-up seats. Ask our reception team for some crabbing bait. On request, we’ll also pack you a luxury picnic of home-made goodies to take in a backpack.
