ROOMS & SUITES
Located in the iconic Praça do Comércio, just steps from the Tagus river, the Pousada de Lisboa is the best starting point for exploring the city.

The building, the former headquarters of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, is reason enough to visit, given its historical importance and the works of art provided by the Museum of Lisbon.

The rooms, distributed on 4 floors, feature an elegant, contemporary and sophisticated decor. The wooden floors, fine materials, luxurious atmosphere and brightness that is characteristic of the city all contribute to a unique experience that only a small boutique hotel can offer.

Presidential Suite
Pousada’s premium room, with approximately 110 sq. m, the Suite Presidencial strives for good taste and elegance. With a comfortable living room and two magnificent balconies, from where you can enjoy the wonderful panoramic views to the Rio Tejo and Praça do Comércio.

Suite Praça do Comércio
With the best view to the Praça do Comércio and River Tagus, with 55 sqm, the Special Suite has 2 magnificent windows and an incredibly high ceiling. Staying in the suite means to feel Lisbon in an unforgettable way.

Suite Áurea
This Suite is a tribute to the Rua do Ouro, the gold street, where centuries ago jewelers used to make and sell their gold work. The space still has the original character of the building, boasting beautiful architectural and decorative details.

From oak panelling to hard wood floors and panelled doors and from designer furniture to embroidered blackout curtains, the entire ambiance oozes luxury. The exhibition of pieces, publications and paintings is carried out in collaboration with prestigious jewelry makers and jewelry brands.

It’s an entirely customised experience that can be extended outside the Pousada by visiting workshops and stores in the historical centre of Lisbon. Choosing this suite is also a unique opportunity to be part of the history of Lisbon’s Baixa district.

THE CHARM OF THE CHIADO

Frequented by artists and intellectuals – the Faculty of Fine Arts lies here – , the Chiado was the preferred spot of the poet Fernando Pessoa. Visitors should not miss taking a coffee (uma bica) on the esplanade of A Brasileira, where the poet has been immortalized by a statue.

From the Rua do Carmo to the Praça Camões, the streets are full of bookstores, coffee bars, restaurants, museums, theatres and boutiques. Close to this quarter is the Bairro Alto. With this heterogeneity of visitors and so much to discover, the Chiado presents itself as Lisbon’s true heart.

Take the chance to travel in the typical 28 tramway from the Graça to the Campo de Ourique parishes, crossing the Praça Camões, and completing a trip full of history through the city’s main points of interest, like the Feira da Ladra, the São Jorge Castle, the Cathedral, the Baixa Pombalina, the Basílica da Estrela and Fernando Pessoa House.

WALK AROUND AVENIDA DE LIBERDADE

Reserve an afternoon to walk around the long Avenida da Liberdade and take in the glamour of the boutiques and the fresh terraces.

Continue until the Praça de Rossio (the square with the imposing National Theatre) and enter the downtown streets, where you will find many stores and much animation, ending at the Terreiro do Paço, close to the Tagus River.

TYPICAL QUARTERS
Alfama is the right place to sense the nostalgia of the fado. It is also the oldest district that resisted to the large earthquake of 1755.

Bairro Alto is one of the most famous quarters in the Portuguese capital, being like a stage for one to see the Bohemian lifestyle and the nightlife, characterized by its atmosphere and the fusion of its picturesque streets and taverns and the fashion of its bars and stores of the major alternative brands.

You should also visit the Bairro da Bica, which is one of the most authentic districts in town, and for this reason, one of the most crowded during the festivities dedicated to the popular saints.
