Our Treehouses are secluded in their own nature preserve and are immersed in tropical splendor.

Outdoor soaking tubs send them over the top. The Treehouses at RP are the perfect base for exploring nearby national parks or our huge activities list. Please note that our Treehouses do not have air-conditioning, but huge screen windows and ceiling fans keep them cool.

You will start the day with a quiet gourmet breakfast overlooking the Pacific Ocean and listening to the sounds of nature. After breakfast, our hiking trails will take you into the heart of the rainforest. A relaxing swim in the infinity pool is the perfect refresher after your hike.

Next, you can enjoy a delicious lunch by the pool before your afternoon massage. You might hide away the rest of the afternoon with a good book, before taking in the sunset and a happy hour cocktail at the bar.

As the last hints of sunlight fade into dusk, you will enjoy a fresh organic four-course dinner specially prepared by our chefs. Finally, you’ll take a moon-light stroll back to your villa for the perfect evening after a perfect day.

As a leading Costa Rica Eco Resort, we believe that sustainability should be at the core of our business. At Rancho Pacifico, we provide a luxury rainforest experience while preserving the environment around us.

This is why we have joined 1% For The Planet. We have committed to donate 1% of our revenues to sustainability causes. Keep reading to learn about our practices. You can help too with some fun activities during your stay.

One of the first things guests notice upon arrival at our Costa Rica eco resort is the stunning architecture. The design is not only beautiful but also highly energy efficient. Our common areas are completely open air allowing for natural ventilation.

At nearly 2,000 feet (600 meters) above sea level, the ocean breezes are cool and refreshing. Even more impressive, over 95% of the electricity we use is produced from renewable resources.

We also source our water from a mountain spring and treat it with UV light – not chemicals. Local suppliers and our own gardens provide the freshest ingredients for our world-class restaurant. Our goal is to design sustainability into everything we do.

Located in Uvita, Costa Rica, Rancho Pacifico resort enjoys sweeping views of the Pacific coast, and at least a dozen pristine beaches are in close proximity. Best of all, when your day at the beach is over, you can retreat to your cool mountaintop perch and get away from it all!

Let Rancho Pacifico arrange your perfect day at the beach. We provide our guests beach chairs, a sun umbrella, and beach towels. We’ll even pack you a cooler with lunch and cold drinks. All you need to do is enjoy the sun and surf.

Rancho Pacifico resort is located in Uvita, a short drive from some of the most beautiful beaches in Costa Rica. Many of these beaches are located in the Marino Ballena National Park – one of only two national marine parks in Costa Rica. You will not find any high-rise condo buildings on the beaches here.

Unlike the beaches in most vacation destinations, beaches in Uvita are never crowded. Many days you and a few other lucky souls will have the beach all to yourselves. We even know the way to some of the secret beaches that most tourists never find.

Costa Rica National Parks are known world-wide for their incredible beauty and biodiversity. Three of the best parks are located in the Central and South Pacific region of the country.

Corcovado National Park, Marino Ballena National Park, and Manuel Antonio National Park represent a wide variety of habitats and offer many activities for visitors to enjoy. The beach town of Uvita is centrally located among these three national parks and makes a perfect base for your explorations.

The crown jewel of Costa Rica’s National Park system, National Geographic called Corcovado “the most biologically intense place on Earth”. It is also the largest park in Costa Rica.

Corcovado is known for its incredible biodiversity including the endangered Baird’s tapir, crocodiles and caimans, jaguars, sloths, all four Costa Rican monkey species and an astounding 370 species of birds.

If Uvita is your base for exploration, the easiest way to visit Corcovado is by boat. Tours leave from Uvita each morning and include a 75 minute boat ride during which you might spot whales, dolphins or sea turtles.

These all-day tours include two guided hikes and lunch in the park followed by the boat ride back to Uvita. Tours can be booked by your Rancho Pacifico concierge in advance or during your stay with us. A professional guide is required for all visitors to Corcovado National Park.

Costa Rica’s first marine park, Marino Ballena protects 15 km of pristine coastline, over 5,000 hectares of Pacific Ocean waters, and Caño Island – a snorkeling and diving hot spot.

The coastline within the park includes multiple unspoiled beaches where surfing and swimming are available. Whale watching is also very popular as South American humpback whales (July – October) and North American humpback whales (December – March) come to the warm waters of the park to give birth.

The official entrances to the park are located in or near the town of Uvita. Private parking is available near the entrances for ¢2,000 Costa Rica colones (about $3.50). Entrance to the park costs $6 per person for foreign visitors, and a guide is not necessary.

The park allows chairs, umbrellas, beach toys and coolers (but no alcohol). There are bathroom and shower facilities at each of the official entrances. For those interested in snorkeling, diving, sea kayaking, whale watching or other tours, there are several highly qualified tour operators in Uvita. Contact us for recommendations.

Manuel Antonio is Costa Rica’s smallest park, and it may be the most popular. Beautiful beaches and numerous monkeys and sloths are the main attractions. Entrance to the park is regulated to control crowds so be sure to arrive early to be sure you can get in.

The mornings usually offer the best weather too. For nature lovers, the park offers two hiking trails. The main trail is a flat 1.3 km path suited for all ages. The more challenging 1.2 km Punta Catedral trail includes some difficult climbs.

Manuel Antonio is an hour drive from Uvita along the scenic coastal highway. Visitors can travel by taxi or their own vehicle. If you drive yourself, be aware that there will be aggressive people along the way selling parking, tours, and entry tickets.

Ignore them and drive all the way to the park entrance. Parking is available near the entrance for about $5. We recommend purchasing tickets in advance using the online ticketing platform.

The entry fee is $18 per person, and a guide is not required. The park allows coolers (no alcohol) and beach chairs, but we recommend packing light. It is a long walk from the park entrance to the beach.

Many guests love birds, but a relaxing vacation experience is their highest priority. Luckily, some of our most impressive birds can be seen from our beautiful open-air dining room, our tropical gardens, or just relaxing by the pool.

For those guests that are more enthusiastic about birding, we have lots of options. Our new yoga deck and bird observation platform makes an ideal spot for looking out over the forest canopy.

And if you are ready for even more bird watching, our extensive trail network covers a variety of bird habitats and climate zones. Many species of tanagers, flycatchers, trogons, hummingbirds, honeycreepers, wood creepers and others can be found in the pristine rainforest that surrounds us.

We have photographed most of the species that live near the hotel. We need your help to complete our photo collection! The gallery below includes some of our favorite shots.
