Enjoy our gourmet ¾ board solution which includes a hearty breakfast and brunch, the “Vital” lunch of the Terentnerhof at midday, the delicious delicacies of the patisserie in the afternoon, and the gourmet 5-course meal in the evening.
Here at Hotel Terentnerhof, we cook with love and passion to delight you with delicacies and specialities based on our Alpine-Mediterranean savoir-faire. As well as a generous salad buffet, hors d’oeuvres and desserts, you can enjoy our 5-course menu and a choice of vegetarian dishes.
The excellent wines in our cellar give the finishing touch to our culinary creations. We also offer special menus for guests with dietary intolerances and food allergies. Please let us know your needs and preferences when booking.
THE BRUNCH
Everything flows … Even our great cuisine is constantly evolving. We are particularly proud of the support we have received from star chef Theodor Falser, who has now also helped us to develop a completely new breakfast concept. As always, we rely on quality from South Tyrol. We source more than 95 percent of our culinary offerings from our region.
A variety of cereals, fresh fruit, countless dairy products from our dairy farms, cheese from small farm cheese dairies in the Val Pusteria, free-range eggs from the farm around the corner. Of course, various egg dishes, homemade cakes and a rich selection of sausages and smoked meats from the village butcher are not to be missed.
In addition, crusty bread from the village baker and, in between, homemade bread, homemade spreads and local honey, freshly squeezed fruit juice, organic coffee from Caroma or organic tea from Viropa and – why not – a glass of sparkling joie de vivre in the form of South Tyrolean sparkling wine to round off the festivities.
Brunch at the Terentnerhof fulfils everything you dream of from a rich, healthy and above all extended breakfast. Here, holiday guests and locals alike can indulge themselves and start their day off with a little festival of pleasure. Curious? Please come and visit us. You will be delighted!
EVENTS
An explosion of flavours to spoil your palate. When? Every week. Where? At Hotel Terentnerhof. How? With sensational gourmet evenings, when we alternate Mediterranean dishes and aromas with typical specialities of our region and recipes passed down through the generations. With the exception of olive oil, salt, rice and pasta, more than 95 % of regional products now set the tone in the kitchen of the Terentnerhof.
THE LOUNGE BAR
In our Lounge with bar and fireplace, or in our cosy living room with tiled stove, you can drink to life, friendship and love with a house aperitif or a glass of one of our excellent still or sparkling wines.
Would you like to taste “Sauvignon Quartz”? Or have you already fallen in love with the “Lagrein Tor di Lupo” with its aroma of berries, cherry and cocoa? The “Goldmuskateller Passito Sissi” also involves all the senses: the sweet combination of citrus fruits, rose petals, apricots and a touch of vanilla brings to mind a warm summer’s evening.
THE INFINITY SKY POOL
It is early in the morning at the weekend. Everything is quiet, but you are already awake. You seize the opportunity and take the lift up to the top floor of your 4 star Superior wellness hotel at Plan de Corones, to find the panoramic pool all to yourself.
The water is crystal clear and mirrors the mountains. As you immerse yourself, the first rays of sunshine appear and you feel their gentle caress on your skin. Late afternoon. It has been a typical day for everyone else, but a very special one for you: an active one spent in the mountains, in the valley, or in town.
You now have a great desire for a couple of hours of pleasurable wellness and relaxation on the large and sunny terrace, with its wonderful view of Val Pusteria.
You lie back, free your mind of all thoughts, and enjoy a fruit cocktail as the sun starts its descent. You smile blissfully. For this is the sort of thing you can expect during your excellent holiday at the Terentnerhof.
BEAUTY & SPA
Hot oil flows along your spine, and then you feel gentle hands massaging in a circular motion to encourage absorption into the skin. You can smell the sweet scent of herbs and hear quiet and calming music. You unwind and let go, the balance of your body and soul is restored, tensions melt – you are doing yourself some good.
THE SAUNA
Finland has so many saunas (up to three million) that the entire population of Finland (more than 5 million) would be able to find a comfortable spot in them. A weekly trip to the sauna is just as usual there as brushing your teeth every day.
Going to a sauna does not prevent cavities, but is healthy in other ways: blood vessels expand, blood pressure decreases, breathing increases, muscles relax, the heart and circulation are exercised, the immune system is strengthened and the good mood? That comes spontaneously. But to be honest … so many Finns can’t be wrong, right?
Not only chocolate releases happiness endorphins, also a trip or two to the sauna can do the same. Especially the new open-air sauna on the third floor, our event sauna, which is quite impressive. Fantastic views across fields and forests create a magical feeling of “outdoor time”. Twice a day there are special infusions for body, spirit and soul.
In the bio-soft sauna, the steam and aroma sauna, soft temperatures, ethereal aromas and harmonic light effects ensure an all-around feeling of wellbeing. A special herb mix gives a boost to the immune system and opens up airways in the herb sauna.
PLAN DE CORONES & TERENTO
Would you like to go on a special adventure that will make your pulse race and stay in your mind forever? There are plenty of perfect opportunities within walking distance of our 4 star Superior hotel in the exciting tourist region of Plan de Corones and Terento. Beware, however! Some really do require nerves of steel and a lot of courage.
HIKING & CLIMBING
An eagle swoops majestically, the marmots whistle and the sun shines bright in a cloudless sky. Here, immersed in the world of the Alps, you feel both free and in heaven.
There are no signs, WiFi or technology – only you, the people you love, the cross on the summit, a good snack and the wonderful view that makes all your efforts worthwhile. Your eyes and thoughts wander far, to the horizons and down the valley, and to the woods, lakes and miniature towns far below. Are you ready for your adventure?
Idyllic settings, age-old mountain pastures and meadows, the awe-inspiring and unforgettable sight of the sun rising from behind a mountain peak, pure fresh air… it is like playing a part in a film with the infinite beauty of nature as the protagonist.
Dossi mountain hut from Riva di Tures
A visit to the Dossi mountain hut is a must for anyone on a hiking holiday in Val Pusteria! The hut is at an altitude of 1,911 m and is popular among hikers young in body or soul.
Starting from Riva di Tures, the mountain hut can be easily reached along a wide forest path that leads gently uphill and continues along the peacefully flowing Dossi River. The hut is open to visitors, hikers and holidaymakers in both summer and winter.
From the parking area in Riva, at the end of the village (signposted), the forest path leads through Valle dei Dossi (“Knuttental” in German), a beautiful valley with larch woods and meadows.
In this scenic setting, you can also see cows basking in the sun. The Dossi mountain hut is well known for its culinary specialities (which both look and taste delicious) and friendly atmosphere. Allow 2 hours to get there and back.
Tre Cime di Lavaredo
Your hiking holiday in Val Pusteria should definitely include a visit to the Tre Cime di Lavaredo! Drive along the state road from Dobbiaco to Carbonin then, on the SS 48, turn left for Misurina and finally take the toll road to Rifugio Auronzo.
From there, walk along path no. 101 to Lavaredo Forcella, continue to Rifugio Locatelli, and follow path no. 105 on the plateau of Pian da Rin up to Forcella Col di Mezzo. Path no. 105 leads gently back to Rifugio Auronzo.
Panoramic archaeological trail of S. Lorenzo di Sebato
Panoramic archaeological trail of S. Lorenzo di Sebato – round trip to the “Sonnenburger Kopf” hill, starting from Santa Croce (Ponte Rienza) or Castelbadia (via Campolino).
The panoramic archaeological trail around the “Sonnenburger Kopf” hill takes in archaeological sites of historical interest dating back to the Bronze Age, Iron Age, Roman times and late antiquity. You may also get the chance to see some of the fauna on the “Sonnenburger Kopf” hill.
The “Mansio Sebatum” is a “living” museum bridging past and present which all the family can enjoy. It tells the story of the settlements in Val Pusteria up to the Middle Ages. In the “Antiquarium” of the Town Hall is a fine exhibition of archaeological finds of the late stone age, bronze age and early iron age.
From Terento to Cima di Terento
If you’re looking for a bit of an adventure during your hiking holiday in Val Pusteria, this is the trail for you. Follow path no. 23 along the stream and you will reach the Astnerberg mountain hut after about half an hour. The little road then continues more steeply up to the Huber mountain hut.
Continue up path no. 23 to Rifugio Lago di Pausa, or “Tiefrastenhütte” in German (a good place to have a break!). From the hut, follow the path southwest to Lago Campofosso (“Kompfosse” in German). At the lake, follow the rough track that leads in a westerly direction to the summit of Cima di Terento (2,738 m).
Just below the summit, path no. 22 bears south-east at a moderate gradient down to the Englalm mountain hut. From the Englalm mountain hut, keep above Rio Terento and walk south out of the valley. When you reach the little path, turn left, cross Rio Terento and return to Valle di Vena following the signs for path no. 1.
Rock gym at Lake Issengo
14 trails, 140 stops – it should come as no surprise, then, that it is known as the greatest adventure park in South Tyrol. But where is it? At Issengo! Or, more precisely: at Lake Issengo.
This rock gym is designed not only for the youngest, but also for the more mature climbers who love to feel the thrill of excitement. One of the most difficult paths allows you to test your dexterity, fitness, strength and nerves at a height of about 20 metres.
THE JOYS OF CYCLING
“I’ve solved more problems on a bicycle than in the conference room. You get really clear in your head. A lot of top managers confirm this.” (Andy Rihs)
Pedalling. Breathing in and out. Feeling the beating of your heart. Thrills and goose pimples. What kind of cyclist are you? Easy-going, who likes to cycle with friends and who appreciates the landscape and the beauty of nature? Or one who seeks thrilling descents to feel truly alive?
Are you one of those more fanatical types almost always seen alone on the beloved saddle, for whom cycling is like an addiction and who are happiest when faced with even the most daunting of challenges? Ambitious, extreme-minded, who gladly shuns the label of “normal” and tries to constantly stretch their limits?
The Val Pusteria cycle route
The best way to explore Val Pusteria on the saddle is to follow the cycle route of the same name. Your cycling adventure begins at Rio di Pusteria, and from there you can ride through the towns of Vandoies di Sotto, Vandoies di Sopra, Chienes, Casteldarne, San Lorenzo di Sebato and Brunico.
This stretch is particularly suitable for beginners and “Sunday cyclists” because it is flat and just 25.5 km long. The cycle route gently ascends after Brunico: it is then 33.5 km to San Candido, taking in Perca, Valdaora di Sotto, Mezzo and Sopra, Ried, Villabassa and Dobbiaco.
The third stretch of the Pusteria cycle route is the most popular, which takes you from San Candido to Versciaco and Prato alla Drava, on the border with Austria. It then follows the Drava River to Lienz.
Although this last stretch is 44 km, it is also quite easy, because it is always on the level or downhill. You can take the train back at any point. If the entire cycle route is too long for you, you can simply cover some of the shorter distances and take the train when you so desire.
Terento – Vallarga – Vandoies – San Sigismondo – Terento
From the hotel, head west uphill for 3 km in the direction of Marga. Continue past a small church and keep straight. Just before the Hauerhof farm, turn left down to the Rieser Hof farm. The paved road ends here; follow a slightly steep road in the woods (no. 21) which leads downhill towards Vallarga.
After the Aichner Hof farm you meet the paved road again. This takes you past the Moarhof mountain hut and to the Vallarga provincial road. After approx. 15 minutes’ cycling you reach Vandoies, where you follow the right bank of Rio Fundres through the village. At the impressive Rieper mill, take the Pusteria Road underpass and head for the Val Pusteria cycle route.
When you reach the cycle route, turn left in the direction of Brunico. The Val Pusteria cycle route takes you around Vandoies di Sopra to San Sigismondo. After the level crossing, leave the cycle route and continue straight on. Then cross the Pusteria state road and pass a small church to enter San Sigismondo.
On the other side of the hamlet, join the no. 10 road. You soon reach the woods, at which point turn left towards Terento. The ascent from here is challenging and with many bends, but you will be rewarded with a beautiful view of San Sigismondo. Stay on the paved road until Pichlern, when it meets the Val Pusteria Strada del Sole. Head west back to your hotel in Terento.
GOLF
“Birdie” and “Eagle” are not just winged creatures for you, and “Green” is not just a colour. And as for the handicap …well, you get the idea. Did you know that our active lifestyle Hotel is located within easy reach of the finest golf courses in South and Eastern Tyrol?
Listen up, all beginners, amateurs and experts: for your golfing holiday, look no further than Val Pusteria/South Tyrol! Here, you will be able to check out the 10 best golf courses all within a one and a half hour’s drive!
SKIING OF PLAN DE CORONES
Your eyes will light up with excitement as you look all around. And as for the weather: a perfectly blue sky and the sun shining bright. With white snow crisp underfoot. Your skis are on and ready to be put to the test.
All around you: mountains, valleys, snow and broad horizons, an almost surreal landscape. Now, at the heart of everything: is YOU. You can’t wait to get on down those snowy slopes and start your skiing holiday at Plan de Corones and in Val Pusteria! Are you ready?
For anyone full of energy and looking forward to spending plenty of time on the slopes, we can recommend the special Dolomiti Superski. If you have not heard of this already, it allows you to see the Dolomites as one great ski district.
There are 12 different areas with over 1,200 kilometres of slopes, 450 modern ski lifts and 30 snow parks in 50 different locations. The advantage for you? With a single ski pass you can enjoy all the areas combined.
CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING
Cross-country skiing is a good sport for anyone who is seeking some peace and quiet and wishes to experience the natural beauty of South Tyrol. At Terento, you can ski down slopes of easy and medium difficulty and about 7 km in length.
The slopes are free of charge and are mostly in sunny positions. Our recommendation: when getting ready for your cross country skiing holiday at Plan de Corones, make sure you pack sunglasses and sun cream!
The Plan de Corones area in South Tyrol offers more, of course, for the less inhibited on their cross-country skiing holidays. The area is a part of the Dolomiti Nordicski, one of Europe’s biggest cross-country carousel, with a total of 1,300 km of slopes.
SNOWSHOEING
Pristine nature, a fabulous landscape, soft and crisp snow, and a fabulous feeling of freedom, far from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The same can be said in winter for those who choose to visit Val Pusteria with their snowshoes and snow boots.
And when the mist lifts and the sun spreads its warmth and infuses everything with beautifully intense colours, there is nothing better than to spend the day outdoors.
