Winter is the heart of Grand Teton and Yellowstone. Our snowy environment contains an incredible diversity of wildlife to be observed.

Grand Teton National Park offers incredible wildlife watching and Jackson Hole’s National Elk Refuge becomes a virtual Serengeti of large game observation.

This is one of our most popular winter activities and we strongly encourage you to book early as availability is minimal once winter begins.

This activity is perfect for anyone interested in learning about the night sky. Families, private star-parties and large groups can all be accommodated.

Snowshoeing

Grand Teton National Park
Teton Mountain Lodge & Spa is located only one mile from the south entrance to Grand Teton National Park, one of the most spectacular, awe-inspiring places in America. Occupying much of the Jackson Hole valley, the park is home to massive mountains, pristine lakes and rivers and abundant wildlife.

You can enter through the South entrance from the Teton Park Road and Moose-Wilson Road, as well as the West entrance in Moran, Wyoming.

Yellowstone National Park
Established in 1872, Yellowstone is the first and oldest national park in the world, covering nearly 3,500 square miles of northwestern Wyoming as well as parts of Idaho and Montana. Yellowstone’s South Entrance is approximately 90 miles north of the town of Jackson.

Two of its four entrances are open – the South Entrance and East Entrance – and provide access to the park’s lower loop to Lake, Canyon, Norris, Madison, and Grant Village. This loop reaches much of the park and is home to Old Faithful, Yellowstone Lake, and many geothermal features.

Easing back into our “new normal” the park will not offer overnight lodging, food service, or visitor centers at this time. Click here for area road map.

Yellowstone has outlined a three-phased plan that initially opens the South and East entrances of Wyoming and limits visitor travel to the lower loop of the park. The lower loop allows visitors to access Lake, Canyon, Norris, Old Faithful, West Thumb, and Grant Village.

Wyoming has lifted out-of-state travel restrictions and has requested the state’s entrances open the week of May 18. Montana and Idaho continue to have out-of-state restrictions in place and the park is working closely with these states and counties to open the remaining three entrances as soon as possible.

Fall Predators Tour
The Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem is like nowhere else on earth. Wild Things of Wyoming is offering a special opportunity to view the predators that call this region home.

Our small group safari focuses on finding bears, wolves, and the animals they prey on and is led by an experienced naturalist in a fully customized Mercedes Sprinter. Guests will have access to high-end binoculars, spotting telescopes, photo accessories, and bounty of tasty snacks and drinks in between meals.

Wild Things of Wyoming
We’ve partnered with Kurt Johnson and Wild Things of Wyoming to offer our guests unforgettable adventures in the parks. Autumn is a phenomenal time of year for National Park exploration as animals prepare for winter among a vibrant fall foliage backdrop.

Rafting experience in the Snake River Canyon
If you’re looking for an exhilarating summer time activity near Jackson Hole, you may want to consider some white water rafting in the Snake River Canyon. With the Snake’s rapids categorized as Class II and III, the waters are suitable for first timers and families.
