Rebuilt in the late 20th century in the Belle Époque style of its predecessor the Grand Hotel Regina, our 71 room property was renovated and renamed The Cambrian in 2010.

Unique contemporary interiors combined with extraordinary service an award winning Spa and unsurpassed views across the Adelboden valley The Cambrian is the perfect base camp.

Whether you’re here for the unsurpassed skiing on the slopes of the Bernese Oberland, to fill your lungs with all that clear, snow-tinged air in the forests and cow-flecked pastures of the surrounding hillsides, you’re sure to leave Adelboden in a relaxed and rejuvenated state.

So what’s it to be today? You can ski in the morning, then up the intensity with an ice climbing session in the afternoon. One of the great things about staying with us is that you have easy access to a world of adrenalin fuelled opportunities.

Anyone fancy finishing the day off with a spot of floodlit snowboarding? Sounds like a good plan to us… In the summer months Adelboden offers a mash-up of cycling, rock climbing, long boarding, paragliding and swimming in any number of local mountain lakes. You don’t have to go far to find plenty of action.

A taste of the Alps
The Cambrian Adelboden Restaurant 180701 065Sharing food at a table brings us closer together. To create our sharing plates we use only the very best local produce and cook it simply with care and imagination.

You can graze through our seasonal menu and savour a taste of the Alps. Our offering is informed by our culinary journeys in London and Wales which illuminate our hotel’s Swiss and Welsh influences.

Will Gordon
North Londoner Will Gordon worked for a number of prestigious chefs and Michelin Star restaurants in the UK before the latest chapter of his culinary journey sees him reunite with his mentor Bryn Williams in the Swiss Alps, as Head Chef here at The Cambrian.

Bryn Williams
Hailing from North Wales, Bryn Williams, ‘Chef Patron’ at The Cambrian has worked at some of London’s most prestigious kitchens – with the world’s most stellar chefs – working alongside Marco Pierre White at ‘The Criterion’ and Michel Roux at ‘Le Gavroche’. ‘Bryn Williams at The Cambrian’ completes his triad of fine restaurants.

Quality
Quality and provenance of ingredient is an essential layer in the philosophy at “‘Bryn Williams at The Cambrian” We locally source as many ingredients as possible from the mountains, lakes, rivers and farms exclusively within the surrounding area and Canton of Bern.

When the season is baring natures treasures the chefs will hike up the mountain before work to collect what the mountain has to offer. We will always have seasonal dishes live on the menu that represent this team ritual that brings us closer together and creates a real sense of place for our guests.

The Axe Bar
Our simple aim with the Axe Bar was to create the best bar in Adelboden; an authentic experience matching Zurich’s urban offerings.

We were eager to make a link to the majestic mountains that surround us and so allowed the look & feel of the bar to be informed by the one piece of technical kit that defines Alpiniste climbing – the ice axe.

The bar offers wholesome food, a well-stocked bar and a place to read and reflect, from midday to midnight each day. Have a lazy lunch or settle in for a long evening and brag about where you’ve been on skis, board, bike or foot.

Sample one of our local beers or wine,s or ask one of the team to knock up a creative or classic cocktail. You probably deserve it.

The Winter Garden — Amazing views inside and out
The Cambrian’s winter garden and sun terrace are the places to go for some quiet reflection. Sink into one of the comfortable lounge chairs and let the awe-inspiring alpine vista produce a zen-like state of mind.

Contemplate nature while letting either the open fire of the winter garden or the sun’s powerful rays warm your body and soul.

The Cambrian Club Rooms
A ‘club’ is a place where people gather – where people are drawn together, whether for social or work related events.

Stunning views of the Alps will transport you away from your daily work environment and inspire. Whether as a business hub, for creative think tank sessions, weddings, anniversaries or as a clandestine speakeasy… come together.

An ideal venue for successful businesses
Whether you’re looking to convene the board to make some difficult decisions or simply bring your employees together for a conference with altitude, our Meeting Rooms are ideal for every eventuality.

Be warned, though, the stunning panoramic views of the Alps at one end of the room may mean the attention of some delegates could wander from those sales-analysis charts.

210 km to ski or contemplate
With 72 ascending modes of transport and a piste network 210 km long the Adelboden–Lenk ski region is one of the largest, most accessible and attractive in Switzerland.

Obviously, skiing and snowboarding are Adelboden’s biggest draws during the winter months, and downhill devotees of all abilities flock here for the world class facilities at Silleren, Adelboden–Lenk, Elsigen-Metsch, Tschentenalp, Engstligenalp and Betelberg.

All the local sports stores offer quality equipment for hire and there are guides aplenty aat the Adelboden Snowsport School.

But if you do fancy a day or two away from the downhill pistes, the Adelboden–Frutigen region also offers more than 15km of maintained sledging routes – so why not borrow one of The Cambrian’s toboggans and hurtle through the freshly fallen snow instead?

Skiing
Beginner, intermediate or advanced it doesn’t matter. The main thing is to be up there and to leave your daily routine behind. The FIS Ski World Cup village of Adelboden offers over 200km of ski runs and has something for everyone.

Snowboarding
The Adelboden-Lenk resort provides some epic and diverse opportunities for snowboarding. Whether you’re a powder hound or hungry for air it’s all here.

The main action is to be found over the back of the mountain where you can traverse from one piste to another through the trees – follow your nose, lean back and go for it.

This is where you’ll also find the Grand Master Park – or the GMP as it’s known by the locals. Huge jumps and rails pepper the park and the GMP bar is the place to hang out from mid afternoon onward. Good tunes and permalinks grins all-round.
