A RIVERSIDE RETREAT YOU’LL NEVER WANT TO LEAVE
Relax on a generous wrap around deck beneath the shade of the Ponderosa and cottonwood trees and let the gentle tumble of the river set the mood for your Triple Creek Ranch vacation. Riverside Cabin makes its debut in Summer 2016.

Perched on the banks of the West Fork of the Bitterroot River with an unparalleled river view, this stunning new accommodation is the epitome of rustic elegance featuring two bedrooms, a cozy reading loft, and a spacious deck with a hot tub and fire pit.

A FISHERMAN’S PARADISE WITH IMMENSE CHARM
New in Spring of 2015 Triple Creek Ranch introduces Osprey cabin. We have fully renovated a classic log cabin tucked in the Ponderosas, just steps away from one of the best fishing holes on the West Fork of the Bitterroot River.

Osprey boasts a large wood-burning fireplace built from river rock and a private hot tub overlooking a creek that lazes its way alongside the cabin.

A TALL, HANDSOME HIDEAWAY WITH WONDERFUL VIEWS
Stage Stop is tucked against the mountain in the lower meadow of Triple Creek Ranch where it is not unusual to see grazing horses, a herd of elk, the resident flock of wild turkeys or a lone wolf.

Stage Stop boasts cathedral ceilings with majestic windows in both the living room and bedroom that provide a panoramic view of the meadow and surrounding mountains.

Stage Stop also offers a separate, privately accessed loft-style apartment with a king bed and private bath that is ideal for traveling companions.

Cuisine
AN ALL-INCLUSIVE GOURMET DINING EXPERIENCE
Executive Chef Jacob Leatherman has been crafting exquisite dining experiences at Triple Creek Ranch for over fifteen years, introducing a new Dinner menu each evening. His finely tuned and adventurous palate informs a diverse menu showcasing distinctive flavors and imaginative presentation.

Chef Jake’s talented team of chefs incorporates the freshest ingredients to prepare uniquely refined dishes to please all palates. For many guests, the meals at Triple Creek Ranch are indisputably the highlight of their visit with us.

All meals, including snacks and packed lunches, are included in the nightly cabin rate. Our Sommelier will be pleased to recommend a wine pairing from our complimentary selection of house wines, or a purchase from our award-winning cellar of premium vintages.

Meals are served in our magnificent vaulted-ceiling Dining Room, or guests may request a Cabin delivery at no additional cost. The dress code is best described as “ranch casual.”

Guests are invited to wear whatever feels most comfortable, whether it be jeans and boots, shorts and flip flops, or the finer western wear you don’t get to break out much at home! Chef Jake and his team are adept at accommodating dietary needs and requests.

Chef’s Bio
MEET JACOB LEATHERMAN ~ EXECUTIVE CHEF
A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, Jacob Leatherman found his calling to cuisine while an English student at Ohio State University. He enrolled in the renowned International Culinary Center (formerly French Culinary Institute) in New York City and embraced his new career with passion.

Upon graduation he worked in French restaurants in Cincinnati, but the siren song of mountain rivers called to this avid fly-fisherman and prompted a move to the Rocky Mountains. He secured a position as Sous Chef at the Home Ranch, a Relais & Châteaux luxury ranch resort in Clark, Colorado.

In 2005, Chef Jake joined Triple Creek Ranch as Executive Sous Chef and quickly became an indispensable asset to the restaurant, bringing his exquisite palate and creativity to everything he touched.

In February 2006, he was named Executive Chef, a role in which he continues to delight guests with his refined, contemporary cuisine. On any given day Chef Jake can be found creating dishes such as Pan Seared Skate Wing with a Salsify Purée, or Pheasant Confit and Field Green with a Pear and White Truffle Vinaigrette.

He believes the most flavorful cuisine is made simply with the best, highest quality products and he considers it part of his job to inspire and educate guests about the bounty that surrounds us in the Bitterroot Valley.

In Fall of 2013 Chef Jake and his team were honored with an invitation to showcase their skills at the James Beard House in New York for a James Beard Foundation Dinner Event.

They presented a Montana Rugged Luxury menu that included Aspen Smoked Sturgeon served with Bison, Meyer Lemon Vinaigrette, Organic Caviar, Roasted Shallot Crème Fraîche, and Strawberries; Grilled Lobster with Peruvian White Bean Puree, Mushroom Curry and Crispy Salsify; and Roasted Antelope Loin with Brie Grits, Hubbard Squash Broth, and Poblano and Quince Salad.

Triple Creek Ranch Sommelier Jeremy White selected wines from Chappellet, Merry Edwards, Et Fille, Pepper Bridge, Navarro and Domains Huet to accompany this enthusiastically received presentation.

Wine Cellar
Triple Creek Ranch’s wine cellar is a state-of-the-art showroom and a Wine Spectator, “Best of, Award of Excellence” winner for eight consecutive years (following several initial years as an “Award of Excellence” winner.)

The beautiful glass-encased room, finished with handcrafted South American mahogany racks, greets guests as they enter the rooftop lounge. The cellar is home to everything from single vineyard Chardonnays to mature Bordeaux, and eclectic red blends.

Our expansive wine list appeals to a variety of tastes, from novice oenophiles to connoisseurs. It features more than 600 fine wines and champagnes, representing major growing regions, with a focus on California, the Pacific Northwest and France.

Throughout the year we offer special events for wine enthusiasts, including Vintner Weekends featuring seminars by well-known winemakers and tasting dinners with wine pairings.

Spend some time with our Sommeliers getting to know our wine list and fine tuning your tasting experience with a Private Wine Tasting or a Self-Guided In-Cabin Wine Tasting

Rooftop Lounge
Each evening before dinner, most guests make their way to the Rooftop Lounge to enjoy a relaxed cocktail hour and recount the day’s adventures. The Rooftop Lounge boasts beautiful views in every direction and is the epitome of opulent western elegance.

Tucked away on the top floor of the Main Lodge, the Lounge features our stunning, glass-enclosed wine cellar and plenty of cozy spaces to relax, inside by the fire or on one of the aerie-like decks.

Sidle on up to the bar and perch yourself on a singular tractor seat barstool to choose from a selection of regional craft beers, or to try our signature Huckleberry Lemondrop cocktail.

Our bartenders pride themselves, and have some fun, by including a local spirit or ingredient in every cocktail. Guests have been known to wile away a snowy winter afternoon in the Rooftop Lounge sitting by the fire with a warm drink to work on a custom Stave Puzzle.

Enjoy an in-depth, personalized tour of our award winning wine cellar with a Private Wine Tasting.

Cooking School Weekends
Jake and his staff will teach you the basics of stock preparation, sauces, dressings, hands-on, in-the-kitchen tutelage from Jacob and his team.

Our Executive Pastry Chef will guide you through dessert preparation and wine expert, Jeremy White will assist with your wine pairing. Combine fine luxury accommodation with an exclusive culinary opportunity.

An All-Inclusive Ranch Resort Experience
AN OASIS OF LUXURY IN THE MONTANA WILDERNESS
Triple Creek Ranch is an intimate, luxury ranch resort designed for adults. Situated among the towering pines on the southern side of Trapper Peak, the highest mountain in the Bitterroot Mountain Range of Western Montana, this unforgettable retreat merges unmatched natural beauty with plush comfort and exceptional personal service.

From the beautiful, welcoming Main Lodge, world-class restaurant and award-winning wine cellar, to the deluxe private guest cabins nestled in the trees throughout the property, it is the attention to the smallest details that make the Triple Creek Ranch experience so memorable.

Montana
Montana. The word conjures images of the majestic, vast spaces encountered by the early Spanish explorers who bestowed this name upon a territory rich in natural wonders and abundant wildlife.

Pristine rivers burst forth from snow-capped peaks of the Rocky Mountain range and meander through a countryside that has not been greatly altered since Lewis & Clark first limned its boundaries.

Today, countless acres of unspoiled wilderness serve as an unparalleled playground for adventurers of every kind. They share this space with the buffalo and elk who still roam freely, and not much else.

Come experience the Last Best Place at Triple Creek Ranch, a serene mountain escape of plush comfort and quiet, elegant civilization from which our guests set forth each day to play under the Big Sky and breathe deeply its exhilarating air.

A Destination for All Seasons
The Bitterroot Valley on the western Montana and Idaho border is a place of majesty, serenity, natural beauty and comfort in all four seasons.

In spring, the meadows are alive with wildflowers and the air is fresh with new beginnings. In summer, the sun-filled days are perfect for horseback riding, fishing, scenic float trips, rafting and swimming.

The mountains dressed for fall are a dazzling sight with bright blue skies and aspen shimmering in the warm sun, with crisp, cool evenings to enjoy a stroll under the stars.

Our often mild winters are exhilarating with the beautiful silence of fresh powder mornings, the breathtaking grandeur of Bitterroot Mountain panoramas and the excitement of Alpine and Nordic skiing, dog sledding, snowmobiling, snowshoeing or horseback riding through unspoiled snow-covered wilderness.

Sightseeing in Western Montana
Should guests choose to venture out and explore Montana, the Bitterroot Valley and Western Montana have much to offer. The mountains and rivers are a photographer’s dream.

The Bitterroot National Forest borders Triple Creek Ranch and is home to many of our popular hikes. Short drives away, the following trail heads await: Baker Lake, Boulder Falls, Stateline Trail, Trapper Peak and Lake Como.

For guests interested in the local history, the following places make a wonderful day drive from Triple Creek Ranch. Upon request, the kitchen will pack a gourmet pack lunch for you to enjoy while you’re out exploring.

Lewis & Clark Expedition Trail ~ which runs the full length of the Bitterroot Valley and offers an engaging living history lesson that can be enjoyed within whatever pockets of time suit your plan for the day.

Lee Metcalf National Wildlife Refuge (one hour drive) ~ a 2,800 acre refuge in the Bitterroot Valley where visitors can enjoy fishing, wildlife observation and photography, environmental education, and interpretation.

Big Hole National Battlefield (one hour drive) ~ the site of the famously costly 1877 encounter between the Nez Perce Indians and the U.S. Cavalry.

Bannack (two hour drive) ~ the first state capital of Montana, now a ghost town whose buildings remain remarkably untouched.

Gem Mountain Sapphire Mine (just under three hours) ~ the heart of the Sapphire Mountain range and Montana’s largest, oldest sapphire mine.

The Office of Montana Tourism and the local Glacier Country Tourism office each have a wealth of information on their websites that will be helpful to those planning extended stays in Montana, or for an extra adventure before or after your Triple Creek Ranch stay.

Weather in the Mountains
The elevation at Triple Creek Ranch is 4,600 feet. Springtime temperatures range between 45° F and 75° F with crisp mornings and evenings. Summer days are warm and sunny, anywhere from 65°F to 95° F and may cool down to 50° F at night.

Fall tends to be a bit warmer than spring, with temperatures between 50° F and 80° F during the day, and dropping as low as 30° F after sunset. Winter days are typically 25° F to 45° F with overnight temperatures often dropping into the low teens.

Weather can be unpredictable. Storms can occur with little warning and temperatures can change quickly. In all seasons, it is best to be prepared for varying conditions by layering your clothing and carrying extra water.

Because of the higher elevation, sunscreen and lip balm are highly recommended along with hats and a lightweight, long-sleeved shirt to protect you from the sun.

Wildlife on the Ranch
In addition to ranch horses grazing in the meadows, elk, bison, deer, moose, turkeys and osprey make their home at Triple Creek Ranch and the surrounding areas. You may also spot bald eagles flying above the ranch or along the Bitterroot River so be sure to pack your camera.

One of the best ways to view our abundant wildlife is a guided Nature Safari on the CB Ranch, one of the many activities included in your nightly cabin rate.

Set forth with your knowledgable guide, and armed with a spotting scope and binoculars, observe these creatures in their natural habitat. For your safety, when you do come into contact with animals during your vacation, remember to respect their territory and maintain a safe distance.

Award-Winning Service & Hospitality
OUR TRIPLE CREEK RANCH SERVICE SETS THE BENCHMARK
Each of our staff members takes pride in providing a superior level of anticipatory service that defines the Triple Creek Ranch experience. Guests routinely marvel at the thoughtful ways they have been “Triple Creeked” and a passing remark manifests itself in an unspoken wish granted.

A Dining Room server overhears a guest’s comment that her mother would just love the chocolate truffle petit-four served at the end of that night’s meal. Upon departure she is presented with a gift box of truffles hand made by our Executive Pastry Chef to bring home for her mother.

A guest on a horseback ride spies a colorful feather alongside the trail in a location where it isn’t safe to dismount. He mentions the feather while recounting his adventure to an Experience Planner, who then slips away to hunt for the feather and presents it to our delighted guest later that day.

Another guest is chatting with a Dining Room server about the dessert selection on the evening’s menu and confesses that she’s not really big on sweets.

She jokes that she would honestly be just as happy with a meatball for dessert, which we of course deliver much to her surprise and joy! We take a genuine pleasure in providing this level of detailed attention.

Relais & Châteaux
Relais & Châteaux is an exclusive collection of over 500 of the world’s finest hotels and gourmet restaurants. Since its inception in France in 1954, Relais & Châteaux has been providing discerning travelers with a resource to plan luxury experiences and has set the penultimate standards for quality and service.

Each Relais & Châteaux property is privately owned and operated, yet united and guided by their adherence to “The Five Cs ~ Courtesy, Charm, Character, Calm and Cuisine.”

The criteria for becoming a member of the Relais & Châteaux are stringent. Following an invitation to apply, a candidate property forwards its official dossier to the group’s head office in Paris.

If the application meets a set of formal conditions, suitability is evaluated during an initial property inspection. After these preliminary efforts, the establishment is visited anonymously (several times in the year following application) to determine whether its services comply with the Relais & Châteaux Quality Charter.

These inspection reports are examined by the board of directors which approves the acceptance of new members. Once bestowed with membership, properties are anonymously evaluated annually to endure that quality and service levels are maintained.

To choose Relais & Châteaux is to experience an unforgettable celebration of the senses. From vineyards in Napa Valley to beaches in Bali, from olive trees in Provence to lodges in South Africa, Relais & Châteaux offers a chance to explore a personal “Route du Bonheur” (Road to Happiness) and discover unique places in a variety of destinations.

Triple Creek Ranch has been a proud member of Relais & Châteaux since 1995 and we use their quality standards as the cornerstone of our own service philosophy. We are passionate about service and dedicated to providing an unparalleled luxury ranch resort experience for our guests.

Signature Events
In the spring and fall, between the high spirits of winter holidays and bustling summer days, the ranch settles down to a leisurely pace that affords us the opportunity to design Signature Events further exploring the activities about which we are passionate.

Food, Wine, Art, Fly fishing and Cowboy culture, while always key elements of the Triple Creek Ranch experience, can be enjoyed on a deeper level.

The intrinsic beauty of Montana, the expertise of our event partners, and the camaraderie of kindred spirits all converge in our serene mountain ranch resort setting for unforgettable encounters.

With a small number of exceptions for select activities, the unique programming during our Signature Event weekends commands no additional fee for participation. We provide keepsake chef aprons, art supplies, exquisitely talented professionals and an awful lot of fun.

Mountain Wellness Treatment Menu
After a day in the saddle or on the slopes, our Mountain Wellness treatment menu offers a finely tuned selection of spa services and experiential sessions that complement our bucolic setting.

Advanced reservations are required, and services are performed in The Bear Grass and Pinedrop Treatment Rooms, conveniently located near the Main Lodge.

Massages may also be enjoyed in the privacy of your cabin. Charges are added to your invoice and guest cancellation within 24 hours is assessed at full price. Therapist gratuity is not included in pricing.

Facilities & Equipment
Access to all facilities and equipment is included in your nightly rate. Please speak with a Guest Experience Planner to arrange for use.

Fly Fishing Gear and Stocked Trout Ponds
Montana has long been a fly fishing mecca, calling to anglers of all skill levels who revel in the thrill of the rise. Our guests enjoy complimentary use of a full range of gear and equipment – rods, reels, flies, nets, waders and boots.

There are three stocked trout ponds on ranch that guests can access at their leisure, and casting lessons are available for both beginners and those who could benefit from a refresher!

With the purchase of a Montana fishing license (which we are happy to help you procure), guests may also borrow gear and venture to the Bitterroot River to wade cast. Guided float trips with professional guides are also available.

Swimming Pool
Newly renovated in 2017, the heated outdoor pool is ideal for a few lazy laps or a refreshing plunge after a day in the saddle!

Open from June through September and maintained at 84º F, the new pool area now features a hot tub and expanded lounging area for basking in the Montana sun. During summer months it is a tradition for guests to enjoy a poolside gourmet barbecue lunch on Tuesdays!

Dry Sauna
Introduced in the summer of 2018, the Dry Sauna is part of our pool area renovation. The health benefits of a dry sauna experience include improved circulation, respiration, immunity and most importantly – relaxation.

Designed and built with customary attention to detail, the sauna is a welcome addition to our wellness offerings.

Fitness Center
Located next to the swimming pool, the Fitness Center is open 24 hours a day and features a selection of cardio machines, free weights and a single stack gym.

Stage Route Fit-trail
The stagecoach stopped running on this road some time ago, but guests can channel the frontier spirit as they make their way through our Stage Route Fit-Trail system. Twenty exercise stations span a half mile stretch for a comprehensive workout in a bucolic setting.

9-Hole Disc Golf Course
Introduced in Summer 2018, this 9-hole frisbee golf course is part of our continually expanding complimentary activity program. The course meanders through the forest and offers a pleasant way to explore the ranch. Disc sets and score sheets are available at the Activity Center in the Main Lodge.

Tennis & Pickle Ball Court
One of the best views on ranch is from our mountaintop court! Whether your racquet sport preference is tennis or pickle ball, challenge your partner to a match and then cool off with a dip in the pool just a few steps away. Racquets, paddles and balls are available from the Guest Experience team.

Horseshoes hanging on a wall
Options to while away a sultry summer afternoon include an old-school game of horseshoes at the pit by the corral, a badminton match, or a leisurely round of mountain bocce ball. All equipment is available from the Guest Experience team.

Stave Puzzles
Triple Creek Ranch is proud to be in partnership with Vermont based Stave Puzzles. For over 40 years, Stave Puzzles has been handcrafting wooden jigsaw puzzles, each custom piece meticulously hand cut from cherry wood.

Irregular edges, special cutting features and whimsical silhouette puzzle pieces are trademarks of these notoriously clever works of art that provide endless hours of entertainment.

As a Relais & Chateaux luxury resort partner with Stave, we display our customized puzzle boards in the Activity Center and the Rooftop Lounge. Upon completion, each puzzle is replaced with a new challenge. These are no ordinary puzzles and be warned, Stave Puzzle solving is habit-forming!

CB Ranch
26,000 ACRES OF UNSPOILED MONTANA WILDERNESS
Just a few miles from the Main Ranch and bordered by the Bitterroot River on its west side, the majestic CB Ranch stretches as far as the eye can see, offering breathtaking views of the imperial Trapper Peak and the Bitterroot Valley.

A portion of the land is under a conservation easement, and migratory wildlife such as elk and deer find refuge here in an unofficial sanctuary. It is the ideal location for guests to enjoy a CB Ranch Excursion such as a Nature Safari, or to ride the open range on a cross-country horseback ride.

Seasonally, our gardens on the CB Ranch bask in the bountiful Montana sunshine and keep a steady supply of fresh produce flowing to the kitchen.

The orchard boasts a variety of unique apple types that arrive to the Main Ranch by the barrel full to be run through our classic cider press ~ the quintessential fall activity!

Western Art Collection
Ranch owners Craig and Barbara Barrett are passionate about western fine art and have carefully curated a magnificently varied collection of original pieces that showcase their exquisite taste, which ranges from classic western artists such as Charles M. Russell and Frederick Remington to contemporary artists including William Matthews and Oleg Stavrowsky.

Stunning artwork graces the walls of the Main Lodge and each of the guest cabins. In addition to the classic two-dimensional mediums, the collection also boasts a terrific array of sculpture.

When they are home in Montana, Craig and Barbara will often invite guests to their personal on-ranch residence for cocktail hour and a tour of their private art collection, including Craig’s extensive selection of Ed Borein sketches.

The Barretts also graciously open their home for tours of the private collection upon request as available.

An extension of this passion for art is manifest in our Artist Workshop Weekends, when guests have the opportunity to work side-by-side with prominent western artists during a weekend filled with art, laughter, exceptional dining, and camaraderie.

In addition, in summer 2019 we introduced an Artist in Residence program, inviting some of our favorite artist partners to join guests for a long weekend of inspired creativity!

This carefully cultivated attention to visual detail assures that the tableau on your cabin walls is matched only by the Montana beauty just outside your door.

Visualize yourself behind a team of spirited sled dogs mushing along blue-tinted, snowy ridges with silent, shrouded mountains in the background.

This image pulls at the heartstrings of every romantic outdoors person. With experienced mushers and their dog teams, you will receive complete instruction and experience firsthand the growing excitement and enthusiasm of the dogs before the ride even begins.

Snowmobiling
Bitterroot Adventures Snowmobile Rides offer the best guided rides in the Bitterroot. Explore areas unreachable by car, across pristine wilderness and enjoy the natural beauty of the mountains.

Departing Triple Creek Ranch at 8:30 am, guests drive themselves a short fifteen minutes to Rye Creek Lodge to meet your guide.

If you find yourself in need of warmer clothing or you didn’t want to pack those bulky suits, Bitterroot Adventures has snowsuits in a variety of sizes for a $10 rental fee along with snow boots. It is recommended that winter boots should be calf-high, lined and paired with wool socks for extra warmth.

Triple Creek Ranch has a limited supply of complimentary Sorel winter boots on hand for your use. Lunch will be your choice of roasting artisanal hot dogs over an open fire or a packed lunch prepared by our kitchen.

Mountain Biking in the Bitterroots
For the more adventurous biker, a variety of trails await those experienced with mountainous terrain. With advance notice, your bikes will be delivered to the ranch for the days you want to bike the area.

Atop the frame of a standard mountain bike or an e-bike, the Lavene Creek Trails offer an expansive system of groomed tracks for guests to enjoy Guided Beginning Mountain Biking.

And don’t let a little snow stop you from enjoying a bike ride through our forested winter wonderland – in the winter we switch to fat tire snow bikes! Guided Biking at Lavene creek is offered as part of our inclusive activity menu. Please speak with a Guest Experience Planner to schedule.

Cattle Drives
For a thrilling adventure that leaves you with a sense of accomplishment, there is nothing like a cattle drive to bring out your inner cowboy or cowgirl! Enjoy a day on the range herding cattle the old-fashioned way.

This activity is appropriate for qualified riders, and all guests must go on at least one on-ranch trail ride and watch a short video on horsemanship safety prior to participating in the cattle drive. For the safety of our guests and horses we do not accept riders over 250 lbs.

Meet your wranglers at the Rider’s Roost at 9:30 am for a short 30-minute drive to the Sula valley in the beautiful French Basin. There, help move anywhere from 100 to 800 head of cattle. An additional fee of $250 per person is assessed and will be added to your cabin invoice.

In the event of bad weather, our wranglers may cancel the ride for safety reasons at no charge. If a guest cancels within 24 hours, a cancellation fee of $125 per person will be assessed unless others on the waiting list are available to fill in. Minimum of 4 riders.

Cattle Drives are the most requested activity at Triple Creek Ranch. We limit the number of guests on each drive to eight riders to ensure a fulfilling experience and spaces are quickly filled, so we do recommend that you reserve your space on a cattle drive when you reserve your cabin.

Each guest may be confirmed for just one cattle drive experience during their stay so that we can make this activity available to as many guests as possible. Guests may be waitlisted for additional drives as space allows.

Cattle Drives are scheduled from June through September, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Trips depart at 9:30am – you’ll take a break midday to enjoy a gourmet packed lunch – then get back in the saddle to finish the job before heading back to the ranch in the afternoon at 3:00/4:00pm.

Enough time for a relaxing soak in the hot tub or a refreshing dip in the pool before dinner!
