The Carmagnole and the canons have been silent in Bastille for a long time, but this district has remained one of the most dynamic parts of the capital!

Just up the road there are several art galleries and trendy boutiques, which are a signature sign of the Marais, a historical district that is without doubt the best preserved of Paris.

The district is full to the brim with contemporary art galleries, numerous museums such as the Museum of Jewish Art & History or Centre Pompidou. There are many famous places to go out and enjoy everything from classical theatre to jazz, comedy and rock. Here, we bring you art and amusement all day and night.

SHOPPING ROAD
Super hip designer shops and indepenendant creative brands are responisble for the avant-gardiste reputation of the Marais, here for a non-exhaustive list of places to visit : Rue des Rosiers, Rue des Francs-Bourgeois, Rue du Temple, and of course, Rue de Rivoli.

Equally, here is a non-exhaustive list of boutiques in the area : COS, Eleven Paris, Karl Lagerfeld, Erotokritos, The Kooples, The Kooples Sport, Bimbo y Lola, Suite.341, Maje, Sandro, Claudie Pierlot, Kiehl’s, MAC, Acqua di Parma, Diptyque, Guerlain, Jo Malone, Stella Cadente, Merci, Bonton, Forever 21, Uniqlo, and many more.

PLACE DES VOSGES
The Place des Vosges was designed by Louis Métezeau and his porte-parole in honour of the Vosges department of France, the first department to have answered the French Revolution’s call and to have sent the first national volunteers to defend the country during wartime.

It has a surface area of 17,780 m2 and is surrounded by many art galleries, cafes, bars and restaurants, all of this just 5 minutes’ walk from Villa Beaumarchais.

SAINT PAUL
The space between two key streets of the city, planted with two rows of trees, exists since the extension of the Rue de Rivoli from the former Place du Marché-Saint-Jean to Saint-Antoine Street, and was created by Baron Haussmann in 1854.

In the center, just 8 minutes walk from the Villa Beaumarchais, the church or parish Saint-Paul-Saint-Louis, which represents a place of Roman Catholic worship with an ornamental facade that was built by the Jesuits in the 17th century.

BHV MARAIS
The Bazar de l’Hôtel de Ville or the BHV, is officially known as the BHV Marais since 2013, and represents a big shopping centre in the Marais area that belongs to Galeries Lafayette.

Simultaneously multi-specialist and creative, the BHV MARAIS brings you an original retail offer that combines home goods, fashion, beauty, design, DIY, leisure and catering.

It is only 12 minutes walk away from the Villa Beaumarchais, and the walk allows to walk past the National Picasso Museum, the independant shopping boutiques, several well-known restaurants as well as luxury and haute couture brands.

THE LGBTQIA+ LIFE
As one of the most emblematic and celebrated gay districts of France, the Marais is in the 4th arrondissement of Paris.

The Marais represents a key focal point for LBGTQIA+ community in Paris, as well as for tourists and visitors, so thanks to many gay and lesbian bars, cafés, artistic centres, galleries, boutiques and even LGBTQIA+ boulangeries (bread shops), this district has become famous as refuge et lieu de fête, pour tout le monde.
