This residence is known as Maizières Abbey because it was owned by the monks of Maizières Abbey from 1301 until the French Revolution, when the Church’s properties were confiscated.
Broken up in 1789, Petit Maizières Abbey has, for some years, been largely reassembled by Bruno Epailly and his wife Emmanuelle, and now accommodates a beautiful boutique hotel.

LOCATION
The Abbaye de Maizières is ideally situated in the old part of Beaune, a picturesque town, in a pretty cobbled street (one-way street with no parking facilities, see below).
The famous Hospices, the Notre-Dame Basilica, the Hotel of the Duke of Burgundy ( Wine Museum), the shopping streets, the restaurants and wine-bars , they are all next to the Hotel.
SUITE “SAINT BRUNO”
Our Suite offers a spectacular view over the rooftops of the old town, and feature one mezzanine and a small duplex and a separate living area, with atmospheric stone walls and pristine white bed linen. Bathroom with spa bath and shower.
SUITE “PÈRE ABBÉ”
This Suite is facing the street, and consists of a bedroom open to the lounge/entrance with a queensize bed (180cm) and a living room with a modular sofa bed with 2 bunk beds for one person. These two rooms are separated by the lounge with stone walls and a very high ceiling.

All our treatments are non-therapeutic and the oils used in massages are natural and organic (certified from organic farming).
These are vegetable oils made from wheat germ, jojoba, sweet almond, hazelnut, daisy or citrus. Rich in fatty acids, they are nourishing, moisturizing and firming. Their low fat texture and light scent provide immediate comfort.

WINE TOURS OF BURGUNDY
Safari tours is a family company have been created 33 years ago by Bruno EPAILLY. After that, during years, he bought several acquisitions the different buildings of the the original Cistercian Abbey de Maizières and in 2010, he started its transformation in a beautiful boutique hotel.
Safari-tours was one of the first wine tours company in France and the first in Burgundy. Since 2017, Charles-Elisée EPAILLY his son came back to take the torch. After few years away in different country (mainly Australia) and wineries (Burgundy and Australia), he decides to return to his father’s footsteps to put into practice everything he has learned and share his passion for his native Burgundy.
