Au Cœur du Village Relais et Châteaux, is an icon in the Aravis. The only five-star hotel in La Clusaz, Au Cœur du Village embodies refined Savoyard hospitality and was dreamed up by Gaston Pollet-Villard and his son Olivier.

The founder and head of the PVG Group, Gaston Pollet-Villard comes from a long line of generations deeply rooted in the Aravis Valley. He was one of the first to recognise the potential of the village of La Clusaz and to participate in the development of tourism here.

In 2000 he started work on the project for a 5-star hotel at the heart of his home village, convinced that La Clusaz merited establishments in keeping with its exceptional surroundings.

An ambitious project: to build a snug, warm and comfortable establishment in fitting with the demands of a clientele looking for a high level of service, while maintaining total discretion and serenity.

SUITES
Our 41 suites of different categories offer you accommodation adapted to your needs: cocoon Junior Suites of 35 m² for a romantic getaway, Privilege Modular Suites of approximately 48 m² for a couple with one or two children or large Family Suites of 70 to 80 m² for a family of 4 to 6 people. All in a mountain spirit with cozy plaids, wood and noble materials.

PRIVILEGE SUITES
Our signature suites are ideal for a couple looking for spacious accommodation or a family seeking a certain independence with mobile partitions to separate the space. The 48m² suites are equipped with a Nespresso machine, safe, mini bar, complementary Cinq Mondes products and are designed in 2 distinct spaces.

The first hosts a 180×200 cm king-sized bed that can be twinned, a desk space, a bathroom with spa bath, separate W.C. and a balcony with a view over the mountains or the picturesque village of La Clusaz.

The second area has a spacious lounge or sleeping area with a single bed or guest bed for one adult or two children and includes a bathroom with a multi-jet shower and separate W.C.

You have total control over the two spaces with the adaptable partition, they can be divided into two separate bedrooms with a communicating door and two distinct entrances. The elegant and contemporary furniture lends a chic and alpine feel to the suite.

JUNIOR SUITES
Tenderness, comfort, tranquillity, togetherness…so many adjectives can be used to describe the atmosphere in our junior suites. The suite includes a spa bath and a balcony to admire the stunning surrounding mountains or the village of La Clusaz.

The 30m² suites, host a 180×200 cm king-sized bed that can be twinned, a Nespresso machine, safe, mini bar, complementary Cinq Mondes products, a lounge area with a sofa bed that can sleep a child of up to 12 years.

SUITE CHALET
The latest addition to the Au Cœur du Village, the Chalet suite is adjacent to the hotel and is an ideal destination for those looking for somewhere to get away from it all with family, friends or even co-workers and soak up the authenticity of stone and wood.

Everything is brought together here for you, whether you prefer skiing, hiking, board games, a crackling log fire, massages at the Cristal Spa or fine dining, all in refined and elegant surroundings with your own independent lodgings!

There are 190m² over 2 levels, one sleeping area and one living area, each accessible by lift as well as by the majestic staircase. The 19m² Sphinx bedroom is a haven of peace and relaxation with soft colours and furnishings and a180x200cm king-sized bed that can in be twinned, with an ensuite bathroom and separate W.C.

The 23m² Ours brun bedroom in warm shades of brown is great for children or as the family bedroom, with a 180x200cm king-sized bed that can in be twinned as well as cabin bunk beds.

The final 29m² Panthère bedroom is a stunning, sumptuous combination of black and gold in a contemporary style with its supremely comfortable king-sized bed, bathroom with a steam shower cabin, balcony and independent entrance.

The spacious upper floor with open beams with an alpine yet contemporary feel has a cosy terrace where you can realise you really are at the heart of the village and so close to the foot of the slopes.

Kitchens are often where families and friends share the best moments and the state of the art, open-planned kitchen is fully equipped and functional. If you wish to enjoy our culinary talents, our restaurants will welcome you from a buffet breakfast up to a gastronomic dinner.

During the winter season, Le Cinq restaurant will take you on the ultimate in sensory voyages with its inventive cuisine. Le Coeur, the gourmet restaurant with its reinvented contemporary take on traditional cuisine will delight you with its warm and relaxed atmosphere.

LE CINQ
During the winter season, this cosy and gourmet little gem opens its doors for a few months of creative and tasty cuisine. Vincent Deforce, the Head Chef and his team tell you about their inspirations in a short menu, following the seasons.

The restaurant team oversees expertly the smooth running of this gastronomic journey. You will be surprised by their sense of detail mixed with the culinary experience.

Our superb wine cellar abounds in fine wines selected by Isabelle MABBOUX Sommelier Chef of the gastronomic restaurant “La Voile” (Hôtel Impérial Palace – Annecy) and finalist of the “Best Sommelier of France 2018” competition.

Isabelle gives great importance to her selection and she pays a particular attention to Savoy wines which become environmentally friendlier thanks to a bio-dynamic agriculture.

To tempt you, here are a few “Coupe de Coeur” wine references on the menu. Brice Omont and the Domaine des Ardoisières with Quartz and Amethyst, Emmanuel Reynaud owner of the vines of Château Rayas and his legendary Diamant Pourpre from Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Les Vieilles vignes by Christophe Perrot-Minot, the future Henri Jayer of Burgundy but also the Saint-Emilion grand cru Les Trois Origines by distinguished wine expert Stéphane Derenoncourt…

THE BAR

You will have the opportunity to discover the paintings exhibited in different areas of the lobby and of the gourmet restaurant Le Coeur from the painter chosen at that time.

After the exhibition by Hank China, Lilas Blano and Annabel Brouhant, we will host during winter 2019-2020 the exhibition « Animals » by photographer Patrick Leclerc.

It is a tribute to naturalized animals he took pictures of at the Museum of Natural History in Paris, giving them a third life. When the lights go down, live jazz music warms the hearts and creates an atmosphere around the central fireplace, together with a cocktail and an aperitif food platter.

New, our « Wine & Cheese » offer invites you to taste an assortment of three cheeses from the valley paired with a selection of local wines. This is a fun and friendly discovery that gives all its originality to an aperitif.

CRISTAL SPA
Experience total relaxation at the Heart of the French Alps in Cristal Spa in the hotel Au Cœur du Village Relais & Châteaux.

Before establishing the PVG Group, Gaston Pollet-Villard started his career as an importer of semi-precious gemstones and some years later when the initial idea to create the hotel Au Cœur du Village came about, these treasures became the central essence of the hotel and gave their name to the Cristal Spa.

The healing and soothing properties of the amethysts, pink quartz and rock crystals placed throughout the relaxation and treatment areas enhance the feeling of wellbeing.

WELLNESS SUITE
Take a step out of time and get back to you for a moment of pure bliss bathed in relaxing light and wooded scents. All the elements of Feng Shui are brought together here for total immersion.

Incorporated into the relaxation pool, heated to 30° is the vitality pool, counter-current jets, swan-neck fountains and hydro jets for leg massages.

Lay back and leave all your worries behind to daydream, basking in the sun light from the large bay windows as you look out over the snowy peaks in winter, or rich green pastures in the summer. On the upper level, relax with a good book or magazine as you sip a restoring herbal tea on the naturally lit sun deck.

The spa circuit continues in the signature rock crystal steam room and the wooden sauna with chromotherapy lighting to soothe the mind, body and spirit. Guests can also work out in the fitness room, equipped with a bike and treadmill.

The wellness suite is open to hotel guests from 8am to 10pm as well as to non-residents for a 60-minute session who have booked a treatment of a minimum of 50 mins, an hour before the treatment.

To ensure the comfort of all, children under 13 staying at the hotel are welcome at set times: all day Wednesday and from 9am to 10am and 4.30pm to 7pm the rest of the week.

SKIROOM
Our recently reorganised 50m² ski room is open from 8.30am to 6pm for the rental of ski, snowboard and snow-shoe walking equipment and the purchase of additional equipment including a range of accessories, sunglasses, hats, gloves and sun care products.

You can also store your skiing equipment in personal lockers and boot heaters allocated to each guest room in this warm and welcoming space.

Both of the ski technicians in the ski room will give expert advice on the best equipment adapted to your needs and level, as well as recommend possible itineraries depending on the weather forecast, your experience and your wishes, from a more dynamic ski day, off piste, family ski day, or a day just to admire the mountains and the village of La Clusaz.

CONCIERGERIE SERVICE
The pivotal team in our establishment, our concierge, valets and baggage handlers are here to ensure your stay goes as smoothly as possible from the moment you book to the moment you leave.

In preparation for your arrival, they are dedicated to organising your transfers from the airport with our partners, booking your ski passes and ski lessons and booking your lunches and dinners, among other things.

This way the smooth running of your stay is assured and there is also space for last minute changes or requests. As soon as you arrive, your luggage and vehicle will be dealt with while you enjoy a fresh beverage prepared by our Chefs and be guided by our reception staff.

A personal service in the comfort of our 9-seater Volkswagen Caravelle is available during the whole of your stay as well as your transfers by shuttle bus in the village of La Clusaz and its close proximities.

The all-important role of our conciergerie team is to listen and provide advice. They will have the answer to your questions on activities. Don’t hesitate to contact them.

CHILDREN
Hotel Au Cœur du Village gives a warm welcome to children and we bend over backwards to make sure they feel happy and fulfilled during their stay.

We provide little personal touches in the bedrooms to make your little Princes and Princesses feel as welcome as possible depending on the age of the child such as; age-appropriate bath robes, mini kids-sized slippers, cots or child’s beds, baby equipment, such as a high chair, changing table, bottle warmers depending on availability.

There is a special « Petits Cœurs » menu for children elaborated by our chefs, using quality, healthy and tasty products to tempt them throughout your stay. A 160m² lounge is dedicated to children from 5pm to 10pm during the winter school holidays.

Here, they will be supervised by a team leader and provided with all sorts of fun equipment such as board games, creative games, construction activities, painting, games console, even a 40m² cinema room to watch their favourite cartoons.

At 7pm the space becomes the « Kid’s Corner » where the team leaders will supervise kid’s teatime with a delicious buffet, while you can enjoy a relaxing evening in our gourmet restaurant, Le Coeur or our gastronomic restaurant, Le Cinq.

But that is not all! An entertainment programme is available every day of the week for magical and exciting surprises with original activities such as a magic show with Harry Covert, fairy-tales from Mam the storyteller, yoga for kids with Florence or a pastry workshop with our Chef.

Our privilege suites are particularly adapted to families of 4 who want to combine a family holiday with a little personal space. The large, 48m² suites have mobile partitions to create private spaces for both children and parents.

Even better, our 80m² family suites can accommodate up to 6 people while our snug chalet suite is ideal for a family of 8. Children are welcome at the Cristal SPA at specific times: Wednesdays all day and from 9am to 10am and 4.30pm to 7pm the rest of the week.

Finally, hotel Au Cœur du Village is ideally located for easy access to the Kid’s ski garden, the Piou Piou club (from 3 years) and the children’s daycare (up to 3 years). For a moment without the children, babysitting solutions are available within the hotel through the conciergerie team (additional cost).

THE CIGAR ROOM
Cigar and liqueur enthusiasts will love the cosy and private space in our cigar room where the leather armchairs combine with the warmth of wood to create the atmosphere of an English club.

The cigar cellar is well stocked with a selection of Partagas, Cohiba and Montecristo as well as a comprehensive liqueur menu with a selection of some of the best alcohols in the world. You can be watch all sporting events and matches on Canal +.

PRIVATE PARKING AND CHARGING STATIONS FOR ELECTRIC CARS

LA CLUSAZ
La Clusaz is not just a ski resort, it is also a thriving alpine village and one of the most easily accessible ski resort from Geneva or Lyon. La Clusaz is an all-season resort with unbeatable snow coverage in winter and beautiful flowering meadows in the summer.

The skiable area in La Clusaz is comprised of 5 massifs with perfect conditions for beginners, and even more for those looking for a challenge.

The 86 slopes (7 blacks, 30 reds, 32 blues and 17 greens) over altitudes ranging from 1100m to 2600m, keep their snow coverage right through to April. There is also the largest Nordic ski area in the Haute Savoie with 86km of Nordic skiing.
