Enrico and Roberto Cerea are world-renowned for their high-class yet hearty, extremely Italian gourmet cuisine. The outstanding performance in the kitchen by the two Italian chefs also impressed Guide Michelin testers who awarded the restaurant a Michelin star after the very first winter season.

In February 2020 the restaurant has been awarded with the second star. The French GaultMillau restaurant guide awarded the fine-dining restaurant 18 points and described it as Switzerland’s best Italian restaurant.

The main establishment of the Cerea brothers is their enchanting Relais & Châteaux-Hotel Da Vittorio in Brusaporto just outside Bergamo. The restaurant was established in 1966 and received its first Michelin star as early as 1970. In the spirit of their parents, all five children today still run the restaurant as a family business.

The restaurant in Brusaporto, which today numbers among the world’s most exclusive gourmet restaurants, received the coveted three Michelin stars in 2010.  Since May 2019, gourmets in Shanghai and Macao have been able to enjoy the expansion of the Italian culinary institution, too.

Carlton Bar & Lobby
The heart of our hotel is the historically impressive Bel Etage, where people from around the world can come together. Flickering flames in the two 1913 fireplaces create the perfect atmosphere.

All-you-can-ski, exclusively for you and your guests? The Corvatsch makes it happen. Here, on this legendary three-thousander, the longest illuminated night slope in Switzerland belongs only to you: 4.2 kilometers of freshly prepared and velvety soft snow.

A real highlight for ski fans who’d love to experience the fascination of this mountain in an extraordinary atmosphere. With aperitifs, bar service and/or dinner, culinary highlights as well await you at 3,303 m above sea level upon request.

Afternoon Tea
A British tradition.
“The unique Carlton Hotel in the premier Engadine ski resort of St. Moritz serves one of the most refined afternoon teas that we have ever had. When the weather is good, this afternoon delight can be enjoyed outside on the hotel’s spectacular terrace.

If the sun won’t cooperate, the experience is best enjoyed by the fire on the Bel Etage. Afternoon tea is traditionally served on an étagère. The plates, cups and pots are all made of precious, blue-checked Russian porcelain, highlighting the noble character of the afternoon snack.

“The coach and horses are already waiting outside the train station. The horses – magnificent and powerful animals – are harnessed to the coach and promise a fairy-tale ride. My breath is visible in the freezing cold air. I wrap myself in the warm covers. With the scent of the horses in my nose and the sound of their snorting in my ears, the coach moves through the snowy forest towards the Hotel Restaurant Roseg Gletscher, where a hearty fondue will sate my hunger.”

Ice Fishing
In the middle of the frozen lake.
Fishing is one of the most calming outdoor activities. It requires preparation and a great deal of patience, which is why it is a highly recommended activity at this time, in particular, if you are longing to find some peace in an impressive natural setting.

Accompanied by our outdoor butler and an expert from the local fishing club, you will learn to understand the ice on a lake and how to decide where to lower your bait into the water.

However, this is not all, as you will also be able to enjoy warming delicacies such as tea, mulled wine and fondue. All you need to bring is time and warm clothing.

Torch Walk

The high altitude of the Engadine and the clear air make the winter sky at night a very special spectacle. Without torches but with torches, as if from a bygone era, you will walk with Othmar, our outdoor butler, through nature and marvel at the starry sky.

Finally you can gaze at the stars in peace and quiet. The nightly torchlight walk is rounded off with warming mulled wine and tea. The torch walk always takes place on Thursdays and is free of charge for hotel guests. For further details, our concierges will be happy to assist you at any time.

Sledging in Preda-Bergün

As soon as the temperatures fall and the first snow settles, hiking trails and some of the pass roads are transformed into snow runs many kilometres in length that are ideal for sledging.

The beautiful Engadine region is home to the longest floodlit sledge run in Europe, the Preda-Bergün toboggan run. Some people who go sledging love the adrenalin rush of speed, while others enjoy a more leisurely descent. As a result, the Bergün toboggan run is a perfect trip for the whole family.

Winter sports offer in St. Moritz
Breath-taking landscapes in a real winter fairy-tale world. Winter sports lovers from around the globe enjoy a paradise with 350 kilometres of ski slopes, 200 kilometres of cross-country skiing tracks and 150 kilometres of hiking trails.
